Koth is the best game mode.
2Cp and anything related to it is just sitting by chokes and tickling eachother til you're ready to Q.
I don't like how Koth drags on, even if you win two rounds in a row handedly the game still gives the other team another chance because reasons.
Because KOTH is best of five not three.
The reason I hate KoTH so much is that it feels like it goes on forever.
reminder that none of the maps in this game are good
The reason I hate KoTH so much is that it feels like it goes on forever.
Koth matches are max 12~ minutes(not including overtime) though, while hybrid, assault, and payload maps can go on for over 20.
Hell, they can go on for even longer because of tied scores and overtime. I once had a kings row match go on for over 40 minutes because both teams made it all the way to the end, twice.
That match made me realize that I'd never heard athena say "seven" before. :v:
At least with payload if it goes on forever it feels like I'm actually doing something.
I dare anyone complain about Dorado, Route 66, or Watchpoint.
Sombra's really growing on me. I didn't think a shorter hack downtime would do much, but I'm really enjoying it.
The only part of her I find awkward still is her shift, which just seems clunky to initiate.
I dare anyone complain about Dorado, Route 66, or Watchpoint.
I take your dare.
Watchpoint is my least favorite payload map to attack on. Defending is alright
I dare anyone complain about Dorado, Route 66, or Watchpoint.
I used to hate Watchpoint so much when people still played Mercy
piece of shit can rez everyone right after spawning :glare:
And I open my THIRD Lunar New Year Ana skin.
This event is fucking me hard with these loot crates, jebus crow.
I dare anyone complain about Dorado, Route 66, or Watchpoint.
Not enough choke points.
Just play what you like in comp and fuck everyone else
Dumbest post in the thread, I don't think this is the game for you, this isn't call of duty
Okay I'll say it now, Sombra is trash in comp. /for the most part/ you're fighting a 5 vs 6 if she is on your team. She CAN be useful in certain maps and game modes, but they're very specific (like capture the rooster), which sucks because I really wish she were viable
The annoying part of this is that people's natural response to this is gonna be 'it's not all about the meta'. I completely agree, screw the meta, I hate it when teams try so hard to conform to some tank + Anna set up they've clearly got no actual experience with but just know it's what the best players do. But not conforming to meta isn't a pass to just play any character you want regardless of team composition/map, playing torbjorn/widow maker on attack, Sombra etc
I was playing control once, me as Pharah and the enemy team had a Torb who kept wasting time trying to get to the point and set up turrets in awkward locations for me to smash half way through, all he done was feed my team ulti energy. And he refused to switch over and over, saying ''omg it's just a game don't try so hard to be meta''
Seriously, when ever I hear her 'I've been here all along' and see she's on the other team I see it as free SR (assuming my team are at least somewhat competent)
I dare anyone complain about Dorado, Route 66, or Watchpoint.
Route 66's last is hell.
Route 66's first is the only time in OW history where it feels like the attacking team spawns farther away from the point than the defending team
I dare anyone complain about Dorado, Route 66, or Watchpoint.
I used to like Watchpoint Gibraltar until I started playing in higher ranks. All the defending team have to do is set up on high ground and you're done for.

the real solution is to just play quick play instead of competitive
something that annoys me is how criminally dull the maps are
seriously, the four most "interesting" features that maps have had are
1) the cars on Oasis that do not impact gameplay at all
2) the jump pad on Oasis
3) the point pitfalls on ilios and nepal
4) the moving platforms on volskaya
environmental hazards are bullshit when done poorly, but if they were done right could make maps much more alive, even if you only had them in casual modes
i'm thinking wacky shit like every 2 minutes on King's Row, big ben rings and the streets get flooded or something
i'm thinking wacky shit like every 2 minutes on King's Row, big ben rings and the streets get flooded or something
Sounds very Smash Bro's-Y (which could be a great idea if they do it right). I think Oasis was a testing ground for them and I can see them expanding on it since it got positive reviews
I dare anyone complain about Dorado, Route 66, or Watchpoint.
Watchpoint is almost as bad as Eichenwalde.
Fuck that last section.
I wish they'd just pack in and add a map filter already. Half the time I can't stand KOTH and it just makes me wish I was playing Dorado or King's Row instead.
I just want the game not to repeatedly put me on the same maps.
Unfortunately we won't have good cp maps until somebody explains to Jeff Kaplan the concept of "multiple doors"

This is exactly why I think Blizzard should release map making tools. The community is able to come up with a much larger set of different types of maps with different types of elements than Blizzard employees. We would be able to understand which kinds of map work and which don't better that way.

b-but my chokepoints
Hanamaura and Kings Row actually make me want to neck myself.
I don't really get the complaints about chokepoints, tbh.
defense always has a much longer walk to the chokepoint than offense, and once you've broken through the chokepoint it generally can't really be reestablished, and generally most flankers can find ways around them.
Unfortunately we won't have good cp maps until somebody explains to Jeff Kaplan the concept of "multiple doors"
Then we'd get more Eichenwalde's double castle doors
I love high level play! First game of the night and there's 2 aimbotting GMs on the other team and 1 aimbotting guy on my team!
:suicide:
Can we just get an Overwatch remake of Badwater and maybe one of Gravelpit? That's enough good maps to last an eternity.
cp_well's triumphant return
I want to see a map similar to viaduct in overwatch
I absolutely hate Oasis. It's my least favorite KoTH map.
It's definitely the best KOTH map in terms of design. Tons of alternate routes and flanking points. Leagues better than the temple map with the shrine in the center and the giant bottlenecks
