Can you elaborate on steampunk alt-world. Like basic ideas of maps and such, cause I'm gonna start planning for this right away.
This is what you get for now. [editline]4th July 2016[/editline] Oh right and I guess a LITTLE background on the nations might help. Novgorodyi: This world's version of Slavs. Long cold winters, short mild summers. Most industrious nation. Lots of factories and mines. Pick from bonus to Mechanical or Construction skills. 35% mountains, mostly in the north. Vaulgartt: This world's version of Germans, Austrians, and Hungarians. Short cold winters, long mild summers. Breadbasket of this world. Tons of farms, grows most of the grains and vegetables and raises most of the livestock. Largest standing military. Pick from a set of Agricultural skills. 10% mountains along the border with Lyrileos, mostly rolling hills. Lyrileos: This world's version of the Romance language group. Mostly based on French and Spanish, also Italian and Portuguese. Long hot summers and very mild winters. Never snows or freezes except at the peaks. Has the only known oil & helium deposits in this world. Largest standing air-force, only nation with an airship fleet. Lyrians are mostly disliked/distrusted by others due to their arrogance and use of refined petroleum fuels. Largest exporter of fruit and refined textiles. Pick from bonus to Recon/Scouting skills or flying. 75% mountains, most Lyrians rely on airship travel to get around outside their own cities. Altaga: This world's version of the UK. Main Island would be traditional "Brits", northern Islands would be the "Scots", Southern Islands the "Irish" and the land along the Vaulgartt Coast the "Welsh". Largest standing naval fleet, heavy dependence on the fishing industry. Pick from bonus to Navigation or Fishing skills. Arkavum: This world's version of the Dutch & Scandinavians. Long mild summers and short cold winters. Main grower of cash crops. Supplies the majority of the world's tobacco, cotton, and sugar as well as about 75% of continent's lumber. Also the only grower of "Mild Tobacco" or "Macco" for short, a broad leafed plant often dried and smoked for it's relaxing high. Illegal in Novgorodyi and Vaulgartt. Pick from bonus to cooking or a set of Lumberjack/Carpentry based skills. Davasta: This world's version of the Middle East. Primarily based on Mamluk Egyptians. Their peninsula is mostly desert with the coastlines and a few rivers/oasis being the developed areas. 90% of their cities are on the coast. Considered to generally be the brightest minds of the world, the majority of Lux Lucis' intellectuals are Davastan. Close trading partner of Arkavum. Pick from bonus to Herbalism, Alchemy, or Astronomy.
I'm gauging interest for a game. It wouldn't be like the other ones on FP. It would be much more similar to DnD where we'd have sessions over Teamspeak, Skype, or Discord or something similar. Attendance wouldn't be required so a lot of sessions would see maybe four people in it while the rest do their life thing. This particular game would be a survival game in a near-future collapse of civilization and it would be based in the United States (due to general geographical knowledge for me). The mechanics are still being worked on and I might just borrow them from a DnD base just to make things simpler. Benefits: - Easier to run personally. I have a DnD group that I already DM for so I have some experience with it and I know that it's much easier to do than writing a big turn every week or so for a standard RP - Potentially better roleplaying. You're playing a single person and you're vocalizing rather than writing down a list of commands. It's much more personal. - Flexible timing. Sessions can last for varied periods of time and can be scheduled to work around everyone else. - No requirement to appear at every session. It's okay to miss some sessions, your character will be assumed safe where they are. We could also run regular DnD stuff as well. I'm pretty much always game for it. It's a good way to spend time.
You read my fucking mind. This is exactly what I wanted
Update! I finally got around to finishing the map for Legends of Ánvaris. It's no masterpiece but it being my first map I'm really satisfied with the way it turned out. [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/71236376/Legends%20of%20%C3%81nvaris%20RP/%C3%81nvaris%20Map%202016-08-01.png[/t] With that said, for all you character RP'ers I still need some answers regarding the vote posted on the RP Discord; Starpath V3: Devils of Sol or Legends of Ánvaris V1: The Tale begins? Vote using ratings. (Useful for Starpath and Informative for Ánvaris.)
How active is the roleplay Discord? Can someone throw an invite my way? It seems to have expired.
The Wikia just received some major reconstruction, consolidating several barely filled pages into their relevant series page. Along with this, the template at the bottom of each page has been modified to instead include an arbitrary selection of RPs (at least, those that don't have pages already). Also, the Discord link in the OP has changed, so it shouldn't expire anymore.

In the near future I will be running a player campaign using either base 5e DnD rules or a completely new (and therefore more free form but probably less balanced) game based in the US in the 2020s in a post-economic and societal collapse situation. I want to take a poll on this and let you all decide. The DnD 5e will be a safer but more conventional game with regular parties and a fair amount of by-the-book monsters and other enemies. The other game will likely not have conventional parties and will be much less forgiving as it's very much a game based on pure survival. In either campaign if your character dies you can simply roll a new character, though in the DnD campaign it'll take a bit longer to get them into a/the party again. I need to replace a damaged AC adapter on my laptop.
Don't forget to check out the latest RP lads https://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1532353
Right now there's a slim DnD 5e lead in the poll. I plan on running campaigns via Roll20. I've been familiarizing myself with it throughout the day. Due to the amount of interest I might be inclined to have two separate parties in one game. They could have the same goal but be in different places, opposing goals, or just kinda be around in the same universe and have a chance to run into each other. If we do run 5e I'll be using Faerun as the main location. This should go without saying but still, I'd ask that all of you respect each other and respect me by avoiding metagaming. It can seriously ruin the atmosphere of a game if you choose to avoid roleplaying in order to get an advantage. Additionally please don't deliberately min-max your characters. It's not fun for the others if your character has an unfair advantage and it's annoying for me to have to deal with it. If I feel your character is too overpowered I'll privately tell you to tone it down it them a bit. If you fail to do so I'll kill the character and have you re-roll.
DnD 5e has won 7 votes to 5. Again we will be using Roll20 for this. Question: Should I keep posts about the DnD sessions in here or have a thread dedicated to it? The thread will primarily be used for scheduling sessions. This will not be a turn-based system. [editline]29th August 2016[/editline] Additional question There are 12 people who have voted so presumably we'll have at least 10 regular members. This means there will probably be two separate parties. Should they be friendly, hostile, or neutral to each other? [editline]29th August 2016[/editline] Aaaand one last thing. I need to know everyone's regular availability. What days are you usually available and what time zone are you in? Just PM me on FP or message me on Steam.
Any time before 2 am GMT really. I'm not going anywhere :v:
I haven't done anything with RP in a while, but lately I've been considering rebooting the European War thread(s) from ages ago. Would anyone be interested if I did? The gameplay would play out more or less the same as an average RP thread similar to the previous ones, also retaining the concept of being able to declare your own unique country and customize it to your liking with its own unique land borders and attributes. As a result this thread would be more of a sandbox than currently running threads, and would also not have a defined setting/turn period, taking place in the modern era and continue indefinitely - again like the older threads. The general concept remains the same but I may tweak the game rules/settings depending on reception (setting a defined time/turn period, expanding play area outside of Europe, adding additional facets to country creation, etc.)
My DM used http://doodle.com to figure out schdule times for DnD. Might be handy for getting all those who are interested's times down in one place.
Who's the dingleberry who put their FP username as garry? Additionally someone put their username in as Dutch Flowers. I can't find that username on FP. Also, if you intend to play DnD with us and I don't have you on Steam yet, PM me your profile (preferably a link so I can see the account directly rather than having to search it).

IIRC he only recently joined FP this August.
I'd like to get the first DnD session started next week, perhaps Monday night. Anyone who is interested in joining who has not yet created a character please PM me by Monday morning.
if any of you ever want to do a medieval rp, here is a better europe map from the SWMH mod for CK2: [t]http://i.imgur.com/tNjFb5p.png[/t]
Potential RP I'm working on: The Rising Dragon [t]https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/208609244772040704/223583165862772737/east_asia.png[/t] Country list Basically this would be a regional RP taking place in the 1950s (hopefully ending much later) right after the UN announces they are intervening in Korea to support the South. Players can play as every nation on that list and I'll be using a dice roll system to determine the consequences of actions. Would anyone be interested in this?
Just so you niggas know if you join my Europe Cold War RP these following eight playable nations have colonies (mostly) off-map: http://pastebin.com/KjKBZ0hh
The first DnD session has ended and it was fantastic. Next session is Sunday!

Kicking around an idea for a game, and by "kicking around" I mean "I'm ready to post it but Pez is like 'yo nigga check interest first man so it don't die' So. It's going to be called "Blackguard". It's a first-person nation builder of sorts where you control one character, a villain, and use character actions and such to influence minions to do your bidding. You start off small, as an outfit of a few dozen like minded individuals covering all bases (drones, researchers, soldiers, etc) and have to grow. You either succeed or fail, you will encounter law enforcement, government investigations, etc. Lots of freedom for the characters, you can hide your evil organization behind a front business, be completely underground and off the radar, etc.
Isn't that the exact same idea Doom had and posted about in the Discord?
Isn't that the exact same idea Doom had and posted about in the Discord?
How would I know? I haven't been in the discord in over a month. Doom didn't say anything about it being his idea when we were talking about it tho so... Anyway thread is up https://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1535124
Except you were still around when he did.
Except you were still around when he did.
Ok and? That doesn't change the fact that it doesn't ring a bell, and like I said he didn't mention anything about it being his idea. [editline]20th September 2016[/editline]
Doomevil - Today at 7:19 PM The closest to an idea I had recently is a Cyberpunk called Deliverance Doomevil - Today at 7:19 PM It's open world too but that's it Doomevil - Today at 7:20 PM But I've shelved that Rp anyway
While searching around the web, I stumbled upon an edited version of the Victoria 2 province map, where the guy essentially fixed up its projection and included missing stuff like the poles. Knowing this could be useful, I overlayed the 2014 map we have on the Wikia over it and edited appropriately. [t]http://i.cubeupload.com/ukvTJd.png[/t] While I was in the mapping mood, I remembered the times we played civilization RPs with the Hearts of Iron 3 province map and how awful that map was. So, I looked up the Hearts of Iron 4 province maps and threw this together. [t]http://i.cubeupload.com/feo3sq.png[/t] So yeah, feel free to use them, and for the first, if anyone can help me update the map for 2016, that would be swell. You can also get them from the Wikia.
Any ongoing DnD sessions or character RPs that I could join? Thought I might as well ask here.
There is the DnD session thet Mr. Face is currently running. As for Character RPs there is Starpath, although I'd advice waiting for the current thread to end since its on its last page. [editline]12th October 2016[/editline] You can pretty much make a character and join at any point, its up to the GM to make a good situation for you to be able to join and participate.
