Adding up all my playtime hours for the regular Metro games and Redux ones, I have a total of about 97 playtime hours in the Metro. ahhhhh
They all great games, looking forward to the 3rd game
Very nice, new one confirmed or just expecting one to be announced?
I'm pretty sure I've read somewhere that they are working on a 3rd game.. my memory is pretty blurred
the latest eurogamer interview with the chief programmer confirms they're working on a new game, and it's more open world
can't wait
A 4A Games dev said in an interview that they're currently working on a story-driven game that's more sandbox-style and less linear. However, no one knows if this project is even Metro related.

Nvm :(
I would love to see a game where you are a stalker, sort of like the kshatriya dlc but with an actual story and collecting relics is not the main objective, but you can sell what you find at the next station
kshatriya was the fuckin' best, I hope they learned from how good it was
This might be silly but I can't past the First missions where I have to go to Armory and grab my stuff.
I can't Pick the GOD DAMN GUN!
Could someone provide me a save to skip this part?

Hold the use button

Praise the lord. I must be the dumbest person in the world.
Honestly I doubt that open-world game will be Metro, as amazing as that would be; I suspect they are either done or taking a break from the IP.
I've never played Metro or STALKER before, but I enjoyed Fallout 3/NV a lot. Should I get Redux and try this series? These games both look really interesting and I've been meaning the pick up the first one for a while.
it's not the same type of post apocalyptic as fallout, but you'll probably enjoy it all the same.

Sure, but for 1st playthrough you should go with HC Ranger mode.
Guess who got Redux working?! Finally I can enjoy the game.
Played 2033 redux since I got it working and I'm up to the library now on ranger hardcore.
I've never noticed this before so I'm not sure if it was added in redux, but did [sp]Khan help you out in dry station in original 2033? Because I noticed when I failed my stealth run they started to run towards me and got helsing arrows in them and died. And I didn't have a helsing, so I assume that was Khan helping me? Was that in vanilla? [/sp]

yep. you can't see him but he's up in the rafters. it explains why he drops down from a pipe.

How so exactly? If it's just cos it's more depressing that Fallout, then I'm all for that.

Second playthrough, more like. Unless you're actually serious, but it's probably be better for me to do that when I'm used it.

very much so

Ranger HC makes it both harder and easier. You do much much more damage (A headshot on pretty much all monsters and humans is a kill with revolver. Almost every weapon is a one hit to the head on humans. ), you have no hud which makes it so much more immersive and you have to check your watch to make sure you dont run out of air.
I've never finished a Metro game without ranger HC (Although my first time on Metro 2033 I played normal but gave up after Market)

he did, but it's way more obvious and helpful now

yeah it's much more downbeat and no-nonsense. it's the kind of setting where the player character sometimes just randomly gets wrecked
Are there any before and after screens of Metro 2033 redux?
-Snip-
Game really wants me to go crazy...
Been playing redux 2033 as the first time playing a metro game, and really been enjoying it.
Fuck me though I've been running into a bunch of bugs. Animations keep on freaking the fuck out, got pinged through a floor by a librarian which got me stuck in a bookshelf, and also this:(possible spoilers, it's quite far in the game)

Was it always this buggy before the remake?

my gamma settings weren't adjusted correctly for the redux so it's a bit brighter than it should be
So I decided to play Metro 2033 Redux and, being the first time i'd ever played it, I decided to play on Ranger Hardcore mode, because I ain't no pussy.
Nobody told me it removed button prompts during QTEs when monsters jump on your face and shit, so it's a 50/50 whether I die or not when that happens because I just sort of mash V, E, C and LMB to try and use/melee/shoot it/knife it, since i'm not really sure what i'm supposed to be doing.. Anyway, i'm stuck waiting for the gate to open at Riga station when you have to fend off the monsters, I have 6 shots in my revolver, and that terrible double barrelled shotgun which doesn't reload fast enough to be viable in any way.
Did I make a mistake starting on Ranger Hardcore?
I'm pretty sure all QTEs are just mash E.
I'm pretty sure QTEs are always just mash E.
Sometimes it's mash, sometimes it's hold.
Some Redux "gameplay" from these few days.

I'm kinda disappointed how "lazy" the Redux 2033 actually is. Yes, I do like the game and think that it's great, but the Redux is just a better running more "ENBd" version of the original. Kinda miss the dark ambiance it had before... Just my opinion. (talking about the 2033 obviously)

I personally prefer it now, it makes you realise that the dark/foggy atmosphere was actually just a way to lower the view distance to cope with earlier PC's
visually, the only improvement I'm seeing is in lighting. there are certain places where I almost feel there was a degrade, so overall I'm not impressed with the visual fidelity compared to the original. there are lots of other changes which are cool though. some levels mashed into one, survival, all DLC's, etc.
in the end, I don't feel like the Metro games of all other games really needed a remake this early. there are also a few things I wish they improved on, especially stealth and character animations. as Judgqment8 said too, it almost feels like an ENB version of the original as everything is nearly the same. it doesn't feel like a remake when characters still move like in the original game and the gameplay is pretty much identical while also leaving stuff like stealth "unfixed".
