The amount of immersion breaking bug I'm finding on my first playthoughs is ridiculous.

Still enjoying the fuck out of it though. They sort of feel like what would happen if Half-Life and Fallout 3 had a baby with a little added horror and a stealth system.
That's nothing.

While I was playing Metro 2033 Redux, I notice a small detail which I never look at.
When you see a weapon on table and you have the same weapon. You'll just take a magazine from that weapon.

The little things like that are awesome.
i wish they would have made ground ammo pickups actually display the amount of ammo they hold though
it's always immersion breaking to pick up what looks like a full bastard clip and get an entire 3 rounds

Or when you pick up 5 military grade rounds for it to equal out to 2.
I still believe that Metro: 2033 had one of the best final levels in video games. From the base of the radio tower all the way to [sp]running from the Dark One[/sp] it's just beautiful.

I'm actually doing worse at stealth in 2033 Redux, but I think the game is lagging just enough to mess me up.
uh so you guys got any tips for what to do if I have almost no ammo and no gas masks in ranger easy, and I'm at the part (right after the nosalise attack on that colony) where you go outside to the Nazi outpost? I can't kill everyone and my gas mask keeps running out
Ranger easy is super difficult, but rather fun and I don't want to change the difficulty

If your Physx preset is on in options, disable it if you're using an AMD videocard.

The only stealth level that got me was the Reich base on the surface, they fucked with the lighting or something.
it was overcast afternoon in the original
that fucking spotlight

the one time i got past that thing stealthily my controls locked up except for movement :I
I bought Metro 2033 Redux a while ago and beat it, here's some words.
I enjoyed it. The world was interesting, the game was fun, and my experience was relatively bug free. There were plenty of things I didn't like though, and I thought the stealth was weird (better than TLOU's stealth though).
Gonna get the alternate ending and probably pick up Last Light Redux and the novel at some point, however Destiny is coming up so I'll be hooked on that. It's also got me interested in STALKER so I'll probably pick that up too.

You know there's like a ladder to the far right that you can climb up and completely avoid having to hide in and out of the spotlight right?
Man, Artyom's old 2033 voice was so much better during the ending

I didn't like LL's good ending theme that much at first but it really grew on me

I preferred Artyom's original voice. I liked the more soft-spoken nature of it. Made him seem less like heroman.

He sounded a lot more reflective and less like he was reading off of a script
I love how Artyom is a fucking 1 man army in Last Light.
Like, the guards are shitting their pants talking about him.

imo every level after you reach Polis was fantastic

yeah I agree it had this amazing melancholy tone to it
I thought the original Arytom actor was way too monotone with his lines. The new actor sounds much more like he really had strong emotions about what happened to him. Plus I love when there's continuity with a character's actor.
so I just started last light redux on Ranger Hardcore
hot damn is this both awesome and terribly hard
if you completely go out the game stealthing all human encounters or just straight up knock everyone out, you can horde up so much ammo that prepares you for mutant encounters. Stealth is piss easy and imo the mutant fights is fairly easy as well if you have a decent shotgun of course. I guess the only time where it really does get alittle frantic is when the watchmen start hording you and sometimes they deal like crit damage or whatever and kill you in one shot. I don't know what even causes that, why sometimes your char can take like about say 5 hits by them in rangerhard but then there are times you just get killed in one hit.

the thing is 2033's artyom narrated it in a past tense, as if he was much older when recalling the events of 2033, as opposed to his young self in last light and the redux games.
it's almost like having two universes.

The problem was that the actor didn't sound like an old seasoned Artyom. He just sounded like Arytom in his 20-30s talking in a very low voice.

Yeah, that's actually the part I'm on now. So it's not just me, it is a bit harder there? Before I noticed the ladder I managed to sneak over the spotlight just to realize no one's even manning it. :v:
So I looked through some model files after unpacking them from Last Light (not Redux) and noticed that there are "Military" (Heavy armor) and stealth hands, but no textures relating to them. I'm assuming that the different armors Artyom can get were going to appear in LL, but were cut for some reason, and to save space/time 4A removed them in 2033 Redux as well.
There more you know, I guess.
I fucking did it. I beat last light on ranger hardcore and got the good ending
I just finished 2033 for the first time.
All I can say is [sp]fuuuck that beam-jumping puzzle just before Ethereal[/sp].
And while I'm here, I was thinking of making a ranger cosplay if I could scrounge up the bits for it. I've been eyeing up surplus stores all over NZ for the past week now, making a shopping list. Plus I'm asian, so I think I could pull a half-decent Ulman impression.
