Honestly when I see a random corpse laying around I just kinda think to myself how that person got there and what his last seconds of life were.
You should check out cryostasis, then. [editline]25th August 2014[/editline]
If I want loot, I want loot. I don't see why gameplay-wise I could get good karma for it.
That's just really dumb nitpicking honestly.
Well it makes sense in Last Light where you have the ability to not kill anyone and just knock them out cold. I think it isn't really about being a moral guy alone and more about how the dark ones are watching your every move and paying close attention to whether or not you're actually worth it. Which is why exploration is rewarded and why killing nazis, bandits or guards accounts for the same drop of points, the dark ones don't give a shit if the people are worse than you, murder is still murder.
Yeah, I guess that makes sense. The Dark Ones aren't necessarily operating off the same system of ethics and morality, let alone thought process, so killing is killing to them. I think from a gameplay standpoint it just made it a bit boring, since we didn't really have that many tools for non-lethal other than KO'ing people or just sneaking past entirely. Means you miss out on the satisfying gunplay.

The entire point of the morality system is whether you accept what you've been told to believe or whether you're inclined to discover the truth for yourself. That's why you get bad 'karma' for killing two Nazis having a conversation and good' karma' for listening to their conversation. It isn't about right and wrong, it's about how open minded you are.
I just recently REALLY got into the Metro series and I basically love everything to do with it now. In the middle of reading 2033 while I wait for redux.

Like finding a turn in a vent and finding a stash of bullets or a med pack and getting a good morality point. Nothing to do with who you kill or your choices. It's a gameplay advantage for me to want to loot a container for supplies.

Besides, it's just the ending, and Metro is definitely more a game about the journey than the destination.

[sp]i've got no problems with the dark ones swooping in and saving everyone, since their defining characteristics are A) that they always try to be the good guys despite their better judgement (and humans don't understand that), and B) they can beat pretty much everyone except Artyom. but at the same time i don't really like that Ulman's death is the only real attempt at making an impact on you. there's kind of a lack of emotionality to it?[/sp]

A lot of those loot stashes are found on near bodies or scenes where violence obviously took place. I guess it's impressing the Dark Ones that you're seeing the world for what it really is? But yeah, like Brt said, it's the devs' way of encouraging you to explore their levels. It also gives you the opportunity to be a killing machine and still receive the good ending if you've found enough of them.
woot [t]http://cloud-4.steampowered.com/ugc/568898140343382587/971990ECB59C8C95CB6777187DC531491E910259/[/t] just a heads up, the game starts out just like last light, with that opening credits bit in the tunnels then it switches to the ol' 2033 intro
I plan to play original 2033 tomorrow and then redux and do a review soon. A friend bought me redux because DeepSilver only acknowledges 10k sub channels D:
just played the prologue thing, here be some screenies [t]http://cloud-4.steampowered.com/ugc/568898140343572676/FB31F88A13653B36046C6758EC7D1FA2E3882C22/[/t] [t]http://cloud-4.steampowered.com/ugc/568898140343572154/B3C7471CA55BCD9F998E1C45DCD9A410A2B52D8F/[/t] [t]http://cloud-4.steampowered.com/ugc/568898140343573320/C4805CDCE34C85CB517F2CE82DEBE68B09BA55A7/[/t] [t]http://cloud-4.steampowered.com/ugc/568898140343573811/272AABEA58E533E942875AE2AA21624B5FA4F0EF/[/t] they did quite the job updating it, this was a wise investment. p.s. the site doesn't work yet
Have you noticed if it runs better than the original or LL?
considering my laptop already runs 2033 nice and smooth, redux seems to run just as well but simply looks closer to last light. last light ran pretty well for me, a few random spots i think lagged a bit (moreso in the dlc), but i'll try the redux of that later.
Bourbon's AI stayed behind me during the bridge part and then triggered when i walked to the other side, while he was running through it triggered every single enemy encounter that was supposed to happen then he got stuck after he jumped out of the falling subway tram. Then he just stood there clipping into the ground 10/10 perfect redux, receive cyka award since i have to restart my save now
You realize the game features the enhanced gameplay systems from Last Light, right? :v: It was more than just a simple graphical overhaul and combining of a few levels into a huge single seamless one. So yeah, beyond the graphics; it features shit like weapon customization and enhanced stealth AI and all the jazz from LL
To be honest I'm just happy for an excuse to play through the Metro games again.
Both games just turn off for me after the intro, no error message or anything. What
Yeah, I'm getting that crash as well. Skipping the intro just causes an immediate CTD, watching it also gets a CTD. Doesn't seem to be tied into a particular GPU or not, since people with Nvidia and ATI alike are getting the crashes.
I'm glad I'm not alone, but this is still very frustrating.
XBOX ONE MASTERRACE NO CRASHES AND NEXT GEN 920p RESOLUTION
So I unlocked the games with VPN, because I am impatient, but I dislike having to run steam in offline mode, I'm pretty sure that there's a way to run games early, after you've unlocked them through vpn, without continuing to use vpn and without going offline, could anyone tell me how to do it?
So far playing 2033 redux has been far more enjoyable than the first time I played it. I runs WAAAAY better, and I like the changes to the lighting. And dear god thank you for the improved stealth. Still, I keep going back into my habit of pistol sniping people.
anyone got a good free easy VPN I can unlock with?
Oh jesus turning on SSAA to any setting destroys my FPS, I set it to 2 and the whole menu crawls to like 10 frames, turn it off and smooth as butter [editline]26th August 2014[/editline] I've should not had started the game on Survival Rangerhardcore mode. Died once already during that vent attack and now I don't know how to pick up the Bastardgun from the Armory :v: I'm spamming E in a attempt to pick it up, nothing. Clearly Survival Rangerhardcore mode too hard for me...
I can't even launch the game. Nothing happens.
omfg I was suppose to Hold E. that's some shit [editline]26th August 2014[/editline] muh merge
It's interesting how in the 2033 Redux menu they show (LL spoilers) [sp]an old Artyom at the typewriter with Anna and their child. Maybe that confirms that the good ending for LL is canon?[/sp] Just speculating.
omfg I was suppose to Hold E. that's some shit [editline]26th August 2014[/editline] muh merge
In metro games I thought it was typical to press E to loot a weapon or pick up an Item and to hold E to swap or pick up a weapon.
Hmm, I can run pretty much everything on full in 2033, but if I change the SSAA to 2X from 0.5X it just tanks my computer. thought I'd be able to run this on full with my 770. Do you think Nvid will bring out a patch for the game or something?
