Metro Series Megathread - "The Dark Ones will kill us all." - Games

So is the 2033 Redux ending cutscene of low quality to anyone else on the PC version or is it just on my end? It's like they added an awful filter or something to it. Sort of like this but slightly worse: [img_thumb]http://3dnpc.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/Viranya_Watercolor.jpg[/img_thumb]

My Metro Dedux for PS4 arrived this morning which was a nice surprise as I was expecting it to come tomorrow, which is the release date apparently. I've had Metro 2033 on Steam for a while but never touched it.

I'm assuming the best experience is Survivor mode and not Spartan? As I'm starting my playthrough with Survivor mode. EDIT: Went with normal mode the pussy I am :v:

fuck that, you still can't check your inventory in Hardcore mode. What a let down. This was the one thing that annoyed me the most in LL and now it carried over to 2033 as well? Fuck. Hardcore has an emphasize on resource management? Well it'd be great to actually check my resources, you know! Fuck, that downright RUINED ranger hardcore for me on my last playthrough. How often did I face a difficult fight, not knowing if I had to make a last minute weapon switch and abandon my pimped out pistol for a junky shotgun, just to be sure that I had at least a few rounds left since I had no Idea how much ammo there was in my inventory. Edit: Found out that you can still check with the clipboard by right-clicking

I give up. I've spent total 5 hours trying to get this game working and I can no longer get a refund. This makes me so sad because I love Metro. I've done everything and nothing works. I was so excited to play Redux since buying it at first day of preorder.

The patch today fixed my crashing during the starting cutscene, hopefully this will let a lot of other people play it too.

So I saw the pre-order deal for Metro: Redux going on for a few days. I'm curious, what did they change in these versions compared to the original ones?

If you read the store page, that helpfully tells you a lot.

Yeah I think the loading screen music was on 2033 aswell.

If it was, it was definitely different music, there are different tracks now. Also, did anyone find the new stash [sp]at the end of the Lost Tunnels, basically underneath the entrance to Market? It's up the nice little ladder they've added in the green-goo-water underneath the bridges, on the left hand side. Inside is a little workshop thing, with a hazmat helmet and a longnose revolver - behind a wall of steam in the next room is a safe with lots of ammo that you can open with the key from the guy in the large circular room after the Great Door room. Thought it was a nice new touch they've added.[/sp]

Is Metro Redux worth it, if you have both games, but havent completed either of them?

I would say 2033 Redux definitely is, I've finished it a ton of times and it's even better this time.

Looks like they left the old ending cinematics even though the environment looks different now, feels a little cheap.

The nightvision goggles can now be found [sp]at the beginning of the Frontlines level. After you fall from the cart, go back along the racks until you reach a dead end & two guards. The goggles are in a red storage box on a wall.[/sp]

redux is a solid reason to replay Metro 2033 and it largely delivers on what it promises, it both looks and plays better and that's what you were looking for when you bought it. so yeah i would say it's worth it

I really like all the new character models they added, and the attention some of the unique NPCs like Bourbon, Artyom's adopted father, Hunter etc got.

He sat down a few seconds later, though. Anywho, the new journal entries like I said before are way different in feel than they were in LL. Hell, I've read every single one I've collected so far (29) and there has been a lot of spelling errors and grammar mistakes. Still, it's fun to read how he was feeling in 2033 now besides the loading screens.

I don't remember when the last time I had this big hype... I can't play game... simply because I have a blackscreen on start. RiP Redux.
