He has no mobility, he can't block damage, all he had going for him was his ability to get picks and function as a kind of fat DPS. I mean if you don't like the hook combo, fair enough, but he needs something to make up for it. Now he has lower burst damage and lower DPS, whilst still being as much of an ult battery as he was before. By all means rework Roadhog if you don't want these kind of mechanics in the game, but don't just render him pointless.

a lot of heroes are capable of doing really absurd stuff. does that mean we should nerf all of them so they they'll never be capable of doing those things? capability and executability are two different things

i just think the same thing for roadhog as i do for resurrect. its just not a fun thing for people to deal with (minus the part where imo i think resurrect isnt a fun mechanic for me to use as mercy, roadhogs probably end up having fun with hook id imagine)
Back to the plat grind. I clearly belong in diamond but I'm back being stuck in the high plat hell where I'm with golds / low plats. Also I 100% believe koth is on a higher pick rate over all the maps. I've played Oasis 3 times, lijang once, and illios once. That's 5 out of 12 games.

Namely because it's utilizing a tool in completely the wrong way to for insane damage output. It's like the Demoman from TF2 never getting his 8-shot airburst grenade launcher secondary balanced because the competitive community liked it too much.

If anything the common consensus seems to be that he's too weak and inconsistent to be any use in competitive. I think he needs a rework though. And improved grenade physics cause his grenades physics are terrible

The slow travel time vs. really fast heroes makes them mostly a spam weapons rather than being used accurately.
I think it'd be an interesting turn if Scatter Arrows did more damage as they travel longer distances/hit more surfaces. Would make it much more useful in indoor areas and as a tool for proper geometric prediction. It'd also be much more of a zoning tool that could work better with the Sonar Arrow by ratting out people hiding in rooms.

Is Lucio's wall-ride really inconsistent for anyone else on Hanamura? That wall on the back side after the first point, going from the stone ridge thing to the wooden deck, has dumped me SO many times because it's just all "nah you ain't wallriding here"
insane idea but how about this keep the damage nerf roadhog heal makes it so the next shot deals 25% more damage, duration 3 seconds one shot kill hooks are now well telegraphed and you can go back to one hitting targets

Makes those panic heals while people are slapping his belly way more dangerous after the fact.

I want a game mode that's just called "Actually Stupid" It's basically mystery heroes but the guns are swapped too. Winston with Tracers guns instead? Sure. Roadhog with Sym's chainsaw? Save him. Bastion with Reapers Shotguns? I guess?!
I'd be fine with changing Roadhog so that he can lay down some decent cover fire while his hook's on c/d (compared to getting 4 shots that take 3 years to pull off, do no damage outside of close-range, and take an extra decade to reload). That said, he should absolutely be able to pick and one-shot characters like Zenyatta, Tracer, and Ana. His entire deal is that he punishes bad positioning; if you have good positioning, you can focus him down easy-peasy (and get an absurd amount of ult charge for your trouble). If you have bad positioning, you'll get hooked and picked off and he'll heal himself like you were never even there. I say this as a Zenyatta main; if you try to fight a Roadhog at close range and get hooked, [i]you have no one to blame but yourself[/i]. It's literally the same thing as when Bastion was considered OP back when the game first launched. The only solution is to work on your positioning and get good. They've already hit him with so many tweaks and nerfs because people just can't wrap their heads around the idea of a character that exploits bad positioning, taking away his ability to one-shot squishier classes (specifically the ones like Tracer and Zenyatta, where positioning is half the job) is super unnecessary. It's like saying "we need to nerf Winston, because he really possesses an unfair advantage over Genji mains", in that that's exactly what he's supposed to do. If you wanna tweak his fire rate, whatever, I'm actually in favor of that, but a successful hook should be a death sentence for anything with 200 hp or less.
