Is Lucio's wall-ride really inconsistent for anyone else on Hanamura? That wall on the back side after the first point, going from the stone ridge thing to the wooden deck, has dumped me SO many times because it's just all "nah you ain't wallriding here"
I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE
it's always been that way for me, sometimes i'll go to ride the wall and just slide down to an embarrassing death.
If you literally can't see a mine sticking out like a sore thumb you deserve being stuck in that combo.
same can be said about hog's hook combo. he has loud footsteps and he's a big tub of lard that's visible from space.
Raodhog was a better Reaper and there was no reason to go Reaper until now.
If you want to fuck over people's health in seconds, go Reaper.

Difference being the mine stays in one spot and can easily be destroyed. The moment you are in Roadhog's line of sight you're dead.
Now they need to get rid of other "cheap" combos.
Scatter arrow
One button isnt a combo. Its just cheap.
Only one I agree with here is Scatter Arrow. Namely because it's utilizing a tool in completely the wrong way to for insane damage output.
It's like the Demoman from TF2 never getting his 8-shot airburst grenade launcher secondary balanced because the competitive community liked it too much.
Not everything has to be used as the devs intended. Usually the game is boring when that ends up being the case.

i do believe you're right

I'm still pretty sure he could hook you from all the way down there.
So stupid question here, but why are some people not ok with Roadhog being able to one-shot people, but are perfectly fine with Widow and Hanzo literally doing the same thing while also doing it from a much safer distance?
I always thought Roadhog's balancing factor is that he literally has to be right next to people to kill them, and is a huge target with next to no mobility or defenses; or am I missing something here?

Because those two have less than half the health he does, can't self-heal, and don't get aim-assisted when they do it.
I'm not biased against Hog - a really good friend of mine plays almost exclusively tanks and Hog is his favorite - these are just obvious factors you can't ignore when assessing this change.
You guys don't have to hook full health characters and then delete them. You could, y'know, land a shot with right click first, then hook, then delete. Just a second of extra time for the enemy to pray before they eat scrap. You get 5 chances in ~3 seconds to do that. That's enough time to break a Zarya barrier if you didn't mind giving her charge. The hook still needs to quality-of-life fixes to prevent jank, though.
The hook is janky after drawing an enemy in, usually because either Hog is moving/turning in one direction as he's tossing the hook in the opposite direction, there's a height different/geometry in-between Hog and his opponent, or the enemy is right in Hog's face when he hooks them and (since being hooked retains their momentum) they end up inadvertently circle strafing him. End result is a jerk of the camera that's disorienting and targets end up being spaced weirdly apart or off center. His pellet spread is random so it's RNG if the same shot at the same distance to the same character will do the same damage. The rotation of the character after being hooked is not the same so a character facing sideways is going to get hit less by the pellets than facing forward.
Just make Hog do a flat amount of damage after a hook/fire. If he hooks, he then immediately fires after the stun if he has a shell loaded, his crosshair is automatically centered on the player, and it does a flat total 180 (150 plus 30 from hook) damage like it is now if at least one pellet hits (like Payday 2's shotgun mechanics - full damage if one pellet hits, no more if more pellets hit) This makes it so barriers, matrix, reflect, etc can block the shot. Of course this only affects the combo, not his normal left click.
In addition, make him unable to hook while airborne. Hooking while airborne causes a lot of problems, broken hooks, janky positioning, and inconsistent hits, and a lot of Roadhog players will jump while hooking for a bit of extra movement so they're not stuck in place. I think not being able to move while hooking is a fair trade off for a more consistent kill. In addition, this gives heroes like Pharah or Junkrat more utility as they can break a hook on a teammate. Also, make Roadhog's hooked targets lose all momentum when being hooked. This stops hooks around corners or weird geometry breaking hooks.
No more measly 20 damage done because Widowmaker hasn't eaten today/ever and no more flubbed shots because a railing was in the way. No more slippery enemies causing hooks to break via inertia and no more camera fuckery if hog tries to move while hooking. I think that's fair to everyone involved.

as I recall it people have been asking for a charge rate nerf on widows rifle since launch
Also said close friend who mains Hog, from what he's told me so far, he actually likes this change, because it makes fast squishies like Tracer and Genji less of a pain to deal with at close range.
They can't prey upon the gaps in his fire rate as easily now, and the extra shot gives one more chance to dispatch them before needing to reload. His over/under against Tracer in particular is way up.
As someone who doesn't play the beta, and mainly picks Roadhog when I want to get somebody on the other team that moves fast to stop moving at all, that sounds like something of an improvement, actually.
Maybe I was doing something wrong, but there were several times I would get a hook on the enemy mercy, blast her in the face point-blank,
and she'd miraculously fly back to her team with about 30 health left while I waited to be able to use my second shot.
Maybe it's because I'm not a Roadhog main, but the new changes almost sound like an improvement in Roadhog's favor.

I've said this before but I personally think Hanzo's scatter should be replaced with some other utility arrow. I mean, scatter just doesn't work as intended, if you try to hit something in a room with it you're going to miss every split-projectile save for maybe one, hopefully. And used as a cheap tactic to aim at someone's feet and get a free kill on nearly 85% of all the heroes in the game, it's just plain annoying. People might compare it to Hog's hook and m1 combo, but you literally can't be sniped from across the map by his hook. You can with scatter arrow though, and at least you can dodge out of the way of his normal arrows.

At this point even a hard cc replacement would be preferable for me.

ive wanted a charge nerf too, but thankfully widow actually has a counter thats easily played against her (winston), compared to hog where his counters actually take good aiming skill (76, mccree, etc. reaper was too for a while but hog shit all over him for a good many months to the point where he wasnt even a counter anymore. with this buff he'll hopefully be a counter again)

im amazed if blizzard hasnt noticed people are not using it for its intended purpose, and use it as a retarded shotgun floor thing, and nearly every hanzo i see uses it.

How about instead of a scatter arrow, he get's a piercing arrow?
So what stops Hogs from damaging someone from range via right click THEN going for the hook combo? Hog mains will find a way to adapt. The hook, huge HP and self healing are great tools still, it's just he "only" dishes out MASSIVE damage to heroes with the combo now.
Or it just explodes it a semi-sphearical burst instead of ricocheting and splitting. More suited to hitting someone in an enclosed space.
How does one beat Torb + Symm + rein + orisa on eichenwald? I've faced it twice and lost both times.

Junkrat? Good at killing shields and turrets while staying safe. At the first point you can jump over the choke or around the side if you're good with the double mine jump.
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!

Let's fucking go dude. That's my fav reaper skin but I lost it once I moved over to PC, now it's mine again! And I didn't have any skins for Lucio so this is awesome! Also while I was banned I also finally got my first event legendary, Sentai Genji!

full dive with winston, genji, tracer/pharah, lucio, zen, dva/zarya
Roadhog's changes are well deserved.

Sorry, I don't speak doritos.
Oh no I can't one shot things anymore what do I do
Quick play: "play against people of your skill level"
Explain why I am versing full teams of silver border pro players with golden weapons that never miss a shot. I can't even fucking aim well and you think I have the skills to take on those people?
Keeping a Pharah or Widow pinned and scared as McCree is a special kind of satisfying.
So far, the only legit rage I've seen from another player is a Pharah who, after killing them during their rocket barrage twice, they started targeting pretty much just me the rest of the match, no matter where I was or how much of my team they needed to fly over to get there.
Oh no I can't one shot things anymore what do I do
Play Hanzo.
But then it would actually take SOME effort and you'd be at risk of oneshots yourself.
