i don't think anyone in this thread has said bait the hook let's treat getting hooked by roadhog like a disease. there's prevention and then there's a cure [U]prevention[/U] having good positioning picking heroes that can shutdown a roadhog (mcree(?), reaper, ana, hanzo) picking heroes that have barrier abilities (winston, orisa, reinhart) picking heroes that annoy or distract roadhog (sombra, tracer, genji) [U]cure[/U] getting a teammate to use a dva barrier on you getting a teammate to use a sleep dart on roadhog getting a teammate to use junkrat's mine on roadhog getting a teammate to use zarya's bubble on you

I keep seeing "positioning" being thrown around. You are all making it sound like good positioning means "Out of Roadhog's sight".
If they just fix the inconsistency with the hook mechanics and guarantee a static value of damage done after each hook/m1 combo to avoid hitbox and distance issues then Roadhog would be okay. Hooking at different heights than your opponent (low to high, high to low, geometry in the way) or hooking while airborne/moving cause the majority of my janky shots. Also hooking someone directly touching my face as they attempt to circle strafe me consistently causes my shots to miss most of the pellets.

The whole argument around "you're being punished for bad positioning" is really fucking stupid when you consider that Roadhog has the same mobility as most heroes and is capable of flanking, hence the whole "solo tank" title he crowns. It especially doesn't help that the entire game is built around having really bad choke points and narrow hallways.
I wouldn't mind seeing a mcree flashbang cool down buff. Maybe make it match hook like 8 seconds. Mcrees value comes from his flashbang and i think he should be able to get more use from it
The worst part of the Roadhog nerf is that they didn't nerf Ana alongside him.

Bad positioning is a dumb argument since you have to be a certain range away from him for him to hook you. And most maps are tight choke fests so it's hard to get a good angle on him without exposing yourself

If there is anything I get more annoyed by. It's how defense has become "Just pick every character that has a barrier" In a game with nothing but chokepoints. It's annoying as all hell. It's gotten to the point where a Sombra is mandatory in QP on attack because there is so many barriers

So a Rein barrier will be affected by the discord as well.
Or give all projected barriers that aren't Rein's and Winston's some major tweaks Keep theirs intact because they're an absolutely essential part of their playstyles, but increase the cooldown on Orisa's by a couple seconds so she can't constantly redeploy before it breaks, and make Symetra's traveling barrier move faster.
