Did placements few days ago, but I only lost ~40SR from what my finish rank was last season.
2 seasons in a row I've lost 100+ SR after breaking even in placements. I'm really worried that Blizzard is stupid enough to actually try to aim your SR for your hidden MMR or whatever that's affected by quickplay, because god knows I'd be bronze by that measure.
With placements this time I finished up 90 SR from my placements last season. Surprising, since I had 1 game where I disconnected and it didnt let me rejoin, and played Rein for half of the games where I thought my personal stats were bad since I was mostly just blocking and not doing much dmg or getting elims. I went 4-5-1 this time, where as last time I was 7-3. In other words, their calculations for SR confuse me.

They only care if you win or lose a game and by how much.
I wish the moon map had more anti gravity flanks. Instead we just get some high ground. That is lame.
Overwatch doesn't care about personal stats. They only care if you win or lose a game and by how much.
If that was true then my rank would definitely be lower. I didn't touch comp after my placements last season either, if it plays off where you ended last season. Does it take quickplay/arcade into account? [editline]4th June 2017[/editline]
As a minor factor, we also do evaluate how well you played the heroes you used in a match. The comparison is largely based on historical data of people playing a specific hero (not medals, not pure damage done), and we've done a lot of work to this system based on the community's feedback. In fact, I've seen some people indicate that they don't think we're doing this anymore. We still are. While it's a minor factor compared to wins/losses (The best way to increase your SR is still to play together and win as a team!), doing so does help us determine your skill more accurately and faster. So, we compare your Genji play to the play of other Genjis, Ana vs. Anas, etc.
Placement matches don't matter at all. No matter your performance, you'll just get placed around the same rank you were before. At which point, why even have seasons when the off-season time is now 2 days?
Just for fun I tried playing Zenyatta with both left click (toggle) and E (repeat every frame) set to the same one of my mouse's configurable buttons. Turns out that's actually shockingly effective.
Tactical Visor isn't a channel ult, it's a "transform" ult like Primal Rage and Molten Core, which are also not canceled by CC. The only ults that are canceled by hack are: Death Blossom, Deadeye, Rocket Barrage, and Whole Hog. These are the actual "channeled" ults that are able to be interrupted by hack or any other hard CC (Flashbang, Hook, getting frozen, etc) Transcendence is the only exception do to Zen being invincible during it.
Hack cancels Genji's ult too and you think that would be in the same vein as tactical visor.
Just finished my placements, went from 2410 finish last season to placing at 2450 this season. I lost seven placements, drew one, and won two.
Just finished my placements, went from 2410 finish last season to placing at 2450 this season. I lost seven placements, drew one, and won two.
Placements take into consideration your individual performance that's reflected in the stats you gained in your matches, as well as historical SR. It's not black and white; that's why even if a master/grandmaster player loses majority of his/her games they'd still score really high on their final SR placement. [editline]4th June 2017[/editline]
Daymn. Gained +35SR as a healer last match. I dunno if it was because I was solo healing half of it but good to know I'm finally getting a good chunk for one of the most hated roles sub diamond.
Omg please tell me they've started to be more lenient with SR gain/loss for support players. I'm a support main and it's so demoralising to get minimal gains from wins, followed by completely wiped gains from the last 2 wins because of one loss (hyperbole, but you get what I mean).
Channeled Ults often have that decreasing circle around your crosshair. Tactical Visor has a charge meter, like Tank Form.
Question: If you participated in the uprising event and cleared the mission do you auto get the skin for Tracer? Back when it was happening I booted the game up and bought the mercy skin for shits and giggles but didn't really play much as I wasn't having fun. I just checked my hero gallery to clear away the [new] tag and saw I had her skin too and... I'm pretty sure the game is lying to me. Where the hell did this tracer come from
Hack cancels Genji's ult too and you think that would be in the same vein as tactical visor.
No it doesn't. At :35 it shows that Dragonblade isn't stopped. Video also shows a lot of what is effected by Hack and EMP.
Had no idea that Mei could freeze Reinhardt's shield. Doesn't do anything, but it looks cool with spikes all over it.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/wSEmABG.jpg[/t] Cool now I dont have to play in season 5
You do know that once you're above diamond, you need to keep playing regularly to keep your SR?
You do know that once you're above diamond, you need to keep playing regularly to keep your SR?
Your reward at the end of the season is based off of your highest rank during that season, so they've already earned the highest one of 3000 CP.
That doesn't matter, even if you made it to Grandmaster and then dropped down to Diamond, you'll still get 3000 cp.
Slipstream Tracer is Tracers best skin
Slipstream Tracer is Tracers best skin
That's an odd way to spell graffiti
So, I've had enough competitive points to buy a golden weapon for a while now, but I haven't really been able to decide on which one to buy. I was therefore hoping you could help me choose! Strawpoll!

When in doubt always pick Bastion. More gold for your points.

I'm still 400 coins short of getting that Graffiti skin and only a week left. I fucking hate this.
When you forget you've got shopping coming and you're forced to quit a comp match, making it seem like you rage quit I'm sorry team mates
Recruit tracer best skin because it actually fits the lore

They didn't even get the CHARGE for an ult the entire game[/sp] [editline]4th June 2017[/editline] And it's comp as well, not quickplay
