"Focus the mercy or else she'll rez" They don't focus the Mercy and let her rez What did I just fucking say?
Counter-argument: Can't kill the Mercy that is playing hide and seek or is behind 5 other enemy players, I mean isn't like they will let me pass and kill her in less of than a second because the moment you stop hurting her he is back to 100%
I just witnessed the most incredibly stupid thing yet. Both teams have Mercy, both sides are doing full-on team battle on the point, but due to a gas mine and a few other things, just the two Mercies were left. So, rather than fighting eachother, they both rezzed pretty much their entire teams at exactly the same time while standing right next to eachother. And then everyone but them died again so they both hid from eachother, until eventually our Tracer returned and ended this absurd stalemate. [editline]t[/editline] How do these things even happen

I need to go see a shrink, I've tried to talk my good friend hanjo down but I failed.

I am so glad I didn't spend money on lootboxes. 20 lootboxes in and nothing but sprays and voice lines.
I am so glad I didn't spend money on lootboxes. 20 lootboxes in and nothing but sprays and voice lines.
At this point I'm just saving up coins from dupes to buy emotes. At the rate I'm currently going, I'll be able to buy 3 dances.
source
" If it looks like a bird or a dragon, Nidhogg will probably post about it " :v: [editline]t[/editline] I'm starting to see why a lot of people I've run into in both QP and comp say Orisa needs buffing of some sort. Having played her for a few hours total, there really isn't much she's good for other than dropping a barrier down and spamming, and occasionally pulling people into the pit in Ilios. She lacks a good niche.
I was grinding on this game so hard. Out of like 40 level ups throughout this stupid event, I only have up to 11 dances. Eleven. Half of the character roster.

Yesterday I managed to get both the Cyborg 76, the new anniversary Pharah legendary and Hanzo's dance. Nice.
The sad thing is that's probably a really high percentage for 40 boxes
I also forgot to mention 6 loot crates that I got out of arcade mode.
Completed all my placement matches, won the majority of them, constantly got several Golds each match regardless of win or lose. [sp]1700 SR, Silver Tier[/sp] Fuck right off with that horseshit, I'm salty as fuck right now. Literally the only way to get myself out of that hole is to buy a new copy of the game and start over, which knowing Blizzard, might actually be their long-term marketing strategy. I'm so goddamn tired of getting dropped lower and lower despite playing objectively better and better as time goes on. That's literally about a thousand SR below where I was back in Season 3, yet if anything my win-rate and overall performance has only improved. Matchmaking is broken enough as it is, now I can guarantee I'm never going to move into a decently competent tier. Honestly, once I get my next Golden Weapon, I might be done with comp for good, or at least until they fix this bullshit.
Yeah, I got placed ~2200 last season while doing nothing but healslutting, this season I actually tried to do my best with different heroes and got 1845.

Speaking of Genji, he's probably my greatest nemesis so far in terms of who I can't counter worth a damn. The characters I like to play are mostly automatic or burst fire, and mostly hitscans, so already I'm at a disadvantage compared to the spread or direct damage (Winston, Mei, etc) characters, but no matter what I do, it seems like Genji always plays perfectly - timing the dash right and only deflecting the second I commit to killing him - and I always eat shit. How do I fix this? I've tried mouse sensitivity adjustment and that makes him a LITTLE easier to deal with, but even then, I can't seem to land my shots when I need to, or he's just jumping back and forth over my head forcing me to spin around like a doofus and get sniped.
you would think devs would realize there is absolutely 0 reason to have more than one account for a game, and it especially matters when it has a competitive part to it. i dont give a shit how, according to jeff, that they quickly have their MMR put to where they properly belong. the 15 or so games that it takes to place them end up being shit games/an awful experience for the people matched up against them. but no its ok, as long as papa jeff gets his money at the end of the day
It's just rolling the dice. Sometimes you get good numbers (Teammates), other times you don't. Flipping a coin could be a good simulator for Overwatch competitive.
That's what it actually was in season 1.
you would think devs would realize there is absolutely 0 reason to have more than one account for a game, and it especially matters when it has a competitive part to it. i dont give a shit how, according to jeff, that they quickly have their MMR put to where they properly belong. the 15 or so games that it takes to place them end up being shit games/an awful experience for the people matched up against them. but no its ok, as long as papa jeff gets his money at the end of the day
Currently smurfing is the only way to practice roles you don't know without tanking your rating and/or ruining games for your team.
Currently smurfing is the only way to practice roles you don't know without tanking your rating and/or ruining games for your team.
that still doesnt excuse it for me. i take issue with my 2700 ass being matched up against people who are way obviously out of my league and are most likely 4000 or something, and are just blatantly carrying their team. also this was QP, not comp. blah blah blah qp isnt to be taken seriously etc etc but i dont play comp so i like to actually have fair matches in QP.
What would make everyone happy, in my opinion, would be the addition of a "warm-up" pool inside of Competitive. After entering the Competitive menu, you can select either Match (Competitive as it is now) or Warm-Up to be queued there instead. Standard competitive rules, but there's no SR on the line, and you're matched with people your current SR. Experience gain is drastically reduced, but that's not why you're playing it; you're playing it to get better at a character you might suck as, against and with people your own skill level, without putting anything on the table. And hey, even a fraction of the normal EXP would be better than not getting ANY by playing a smurf and not your main account, right? [editline]t[/editline] Competitive gaming venues have warm-up lounges and unranked practice sessions before the main event all the time, why not use that idea here too?
Soooo basically Quickplay but matchmaking uses SR instead of level?
Well, sorta. You need to HAVE a rank to queue in warm-up, and it's implicit that everyone you're playing with knows what they're doing to some extent, unlike QP :v: [editline]t[/editline] Perhaps it would also display to everyone on both teams how much time you have on your chosen character, compared to your total time playing Overwatch. Say, you've only played Hanzo 2% of that time in total; 2% is displayed on your badge when you play Hanzo, for everyone to see. This way, you know who's trying something new, and who actually just sucks. The wins and losses don't really matter either, so there's much less pressure to perform optimally than in Competitive or even in QP.
I was finishing up earning my arcade lootboxes for this week and I got these 2 back to back.. The RNG-gods smiled upon me this evening. [t]http://i.imgur.com/oIqpNG8.jpg[/t][t]http://i.imgur.com/uWgmiES.jpg[/t]
I still cannot fucking believe someone from Blizzard actually said this
As we mentioned last season, we do lower your SR a bit initially but you also gain that SR back as you play. We're trying to provide players with a positive initial experience of gaining SR at the beginning of a season without the matchmaking chaos of a more complete reset. It's not perfect, but we like the results so far.
As someone who got fucked out of 200 SR after going 5-5 in placements, then won 5 games straight to get it all back, no, this is not a fucking positive experience, this is absolute horseshit. Worrying about the fucking all-seasons plat torb/junkrat picker keeping me from getting my tier back is not fucking fun, and even the victory does not make this worth it. I would murder Jeff Kaplan for this shit to be removed and to have SR not be affected by perceived individual performance, only win/loss.
Standard competitive rules, but there's no SR on the line, and you're matched with people your current SR. Experience gain is drastically reduced, but that's not why you're playing it; you're playing it to get better at a character you might suck as, against and with people your own skill level, without putting anything on the table.
What you're describing basically already happens during the competitive "off season" (even though it's like 1 day now). And it's a shitfest. As long as SR isn't at stake people won't take it seriously, ever.
And it's a shitfest. As long as SR isn't at stake people won't take it seriously, ever.
From all of my experience, getting less and less as the seasons go on and I get tired of the bullshit, it's always a shitfest. I placed like 53 first season, ended at 61 or 62. Got to 3k second season, 3.4k third season, and I only did my 10 placements for season 4 and wound up at 2954 after going 2-8. The two I won were when it was unranked players all around. Every other match I was thrown in with diamond players and always people on my team were just purely incompetent. Now I am not the best at the game by a long shot. However when I'm pulling 5 fucking golds as Zenyatta regularly in ranked and my team is losing that is a pretty good indicator that several other people aren't doing their damn jobs. I hate ranked. I only placed season 4 because I only needed like 700 more points to get a gold gun to go with Zarya's new skin. I'm a salty mother fucker and its because some asshole wants to play assault Hanzo escorting the payload against a Winston, DVa, and a Reinhardt while only shooting their fucking shields.

I don't keep myself informed on the most recent changes going on in the PTR, but a member of my usual posse said they intend to change Reaper so that he won't need to go around collecting souls in order to heal, but he'll be healed for a certain amount every time he'll damage sone with a hit. Is this true? Because, as much as Reaper is my favorite hero, this change wouldn't make any fucking sense whatsoever.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/erdB64h.png[/t] remind me again why blizzard thinks smurfing is an acceptable thing to do? How do you know he didn't come from Xbox? PS4? Maybe he's just good at FPS's?? I have been called a smurf so many times that it's really impossible for me to count and its simply because I'm good at video games...

If he can't heal, then he can't kill, and if he can't kill, then he can't heal.
