The whole point of matchmaking is to put you in a game with skill level equality. Smurfs intentionally bypass this to fuck with starting players.

Why are you defending smurfing? Your logic is nonsense. There's a difference between getting beaten by a better player, and getting outright stomped without a single chance to comeback because the other player was an actual pro player.

Smurfing is a shitty thing to do since there is no reason for more than 1 account. The only excuse for a smurf account, which is still pretty shitty to do, is when you want to play competitive with friends but their rank is lower than yours, so you make a smurf account with a purposely low rank to play with them and to pretty much boost them.
You're ruining other people's experience of the game by being somewhere where you shouldn't be. Is it fair to pit a gold player versus a grandmaster player, who is disguised as a gold player?
Sure, you can learn from playing against better players, but there's a point where no matter how much you try, learn and adapt, you're just gonna get shit on no matter what. Maybe if the disparity between rank was less and they were a close rank that'd be possible, but when the disparity is high, the smurf is just ruining games for the people he's playing against.
I can admit, the probability of that person mentioned being a smurf isn't 100%. That one Lucio player (I think it's DSPStanky?) who played mostly on console and then went onto PC and pretty much headed straight to Grandmaster rank proves it otherwise since skill can somewhat transfer from console to PC in some cases. But a clear sign that somebody is a smurf is when they're pretty much only playing one, high skill cap character, especially Genji.[/QUOTE]
It's more like instantly assuming everyone is a smurf just because they whipped you is a really shitty thing to do. Sure it's kind of eyerolling when a confirmed one happens but what if I got off the ps4 version and bought myself the PC one and began stomping because I have knowledge of how to play? Do you think it's fair to me to get called a smurf or insulted because of it?
What if I watched a ton of videos on the game so I have a good idea of what to do and it carries over pretty well. Do I deserve to instantly have people assume I'm smurfing?

I don't think getting called a smuf is as much of an insult as you think it is
Being offended by being called a Smurf is like being offended by someone saying you need to be in a higher rank. Why would you be offended by people saying you're better then where the game is putting you?

I fully admitted that the chance of somebody being good on console and moving onto PC was real. DSPStanky was my example of just that. Also, me calling out SuperDuprKyle for humble bragging wasn't a dig at smurfs, just a dig at him.
But there is no defending smurfs. It's an asshole thing to do which derives fun from others, solely because you felt like splurging money on a new copy of the game for a new account and then decided to look like a new player while in actuality, you're very experienced. There is no justified reason for buying a new copy of the game for yourself.

It actually is.
SR gain is specifically based on global stats on how good a hero normally does.
So a hero like mercy who rarely gets anything is probably really easy to gain more SR than you lose even if you lose more overall.
Basically Mercy was a mistake.
This double EXP event is neato. Grinded lootboxes and now I have all the event skins.

He is a big, obnoxious, weaponized distraction whose primary goal is to cause chaos in the enemy's backline, and ensure they're not fighting your team optimally.
