I think the +1 clip size is a godsend but as for the damage nerf, while I think the combo is shitty, I think his gun is pretty weak as is so the 33% nerf should only be the immediate shot after a pull, either first shot or 3 seconds after, then go full damage again [editline]13th June 2017[/editline] Idk about fire rate, but I've found myself constantly running out of shot at critical moments so the 5th bullet is a welcome change for me
I think the biggest issue is that Tracer and Genji lost a very notable counter, and this change might possibly make dive comps even stronger. But we'll see whether they actually launch the entire set of changes or not, as the Ana nerf ended up only changing the damage of her gun, and the previous big Zenyatta buff where he'd be able to discord through barriers was scrapped when the patch launched.
This may be an issue with dive itself rather than Roadhog. I don't think relying on roadhog as a universal counter to everything as a failsafe is a good move. I think the bigger issue I see is that dive is strong against heroes like Torbjorn and Symmetra, when from a balancing stand point I think those two heores should have the upper hand against it. The builders of this game just can't compete with a character as powerful as tracer.
I think with the faster firing speed and less DPS overall you'll still end up blowing through your ammo and having to reload at the most annoying times.
Its a trade off for some damage vs potentially no damage. Is it a good one? Probably not. One things for certain, Roadhog's flank days are done. He's going to have to be a teamplayer instead of a one man army.

Roadhog's already a beast against a fair bit of heroes, like Reinhardt and Orisa. Might even be that they intend on Hammond or whatever comes next to be the proper counter to fast close-range assassins like Genji and Tracer instead, hence the changes. With regards to Torbjörn and Symm, I feel that Torb's already pretty good against divers if he has time to set up, whereas Symmetras turrets shatter at the mere thought of dealing damage to them. The mobility of the common dive heroes lets them go straight through or around the laser turrets, while Junkrat, Tracer, Winston and D.va excel in destroying a whole group of them thanks to spread and AoE damage. They would have to make her turrets more sturdy, which I honestly think would be a welcome change to her arsenal, as long as they tone down her main fire in the process. Make her more zoning and defense-oriented, and remove her from the Support category.
Why can rein and orisa see the hp of their barriers but not Winston
Becauase Winston uses his barrier fundamentally differently, I'm guessing. Rein and Orisa both need theirs to push forward, while Winston uses his as body armor inside enemy lines. Rein and Orisa NEED to know how close they are to losing the barrier because without it, they can't do their jobs, while Winston can treat his as binary; if it's up, attack, and if it's down, leave immediately. [editline]14th June 2017[/editline] It would still be nice to have the meter for Winston's though.
Wasn't Winston's barrier given a timer because of the lack of character limits? Shouldnt that be removed by now? especially since Orisa's doesnt have a time limit.
Wasn't Winston's barrier given a timer because of the lack of character limits? Shouldnt that be removed by now? especially since Orisa's doesnt have a time limit.
except orisa's does have a time limit
Iirc Winston's bubble had 1000 health, lasted 5 seconds and had a 10 second cooldown as you placed it. This allowed two Winstons to keep placing barriers after eachother for an almost inpenetrable defense. Then they reduced the health down to 600, and made it so the cooldown first triggered after it broke, as well as giving it a slightly longer cooldown. A half year or so later it became what we've got today. I'm pretty fine with it, as it serves as momentary weak protection as you ambush an enemy or try to protect yourself from a Dvasplosion or such. And correct, Orisa's barrier lasts 20 seconds, with a cooldown of 8 seconds after you throw it out.

My best streak in all my time playing the game, is from one match where I decided that just for fun, I'd bind LMB and E to the same button and play Zenyatta. Little did I know that's actually quite effective, almost to the point of absurdity.
How do you get around it not letting you bind multiple things to one key/button?
My mouse lets me bind multi-key macros and stuff. What I did was make a macro that when I held LMB, it would both hold that button, and spam E every frame. [editline]t[/editline] Wait, dumb? Why dumb?

[editline]t[/editline] Wait, dumb? Why dumb?
because it's against tos to make macros like that. 1 keypress = 1 action.
Seriously? Blizzard has co-sold Overwatch-themed third-party peripherals that - in their original form - proudly boast the ability to record and utilize macros, without removing that functionality in their version. The fact they'd be selling that with one hand and trying to punish it with the other doesn't feel right. Are you certain they don't just mean creating bots or automation suites like the ones that plague WoW?
It says macro and bots actually

It's just a themed razer keyboard
just because they're licensing out the overwatch name to keyboard and mice manufacturers, that doesn't mean they allow macros.
just because they're licensing out the overwatch name to keyboard and mice manufacturers, that doesn't mean they allow macros.
You'd think that proudly offering that as a selling point to people who are going to use it to play the game would draw more than a few questions from Blizzard. By putting their name on it (and likely accepting royalties from its use), Blizzard are endorsing it. That's just how licensing works. [editline]14th June 2017[/editline] I'm not saying using macros is okay if Blizzard says it isn't, I'm confused as to why Blizzard are effectively using their brand to promote something against their own ToS. It seems kind of backwards.
because they're not promoting macros, they're promoting a keyboard. and it's not even them promoting a keyboard, it's them promoting their game.
Regardless, it's still amusingly ironic that, despite their stance on macros, said keyboard has the Overwatch logo displayed just above the feature that Overwatch prohibits, or at least an indicator of said feature. [editline]14th June 2017[/editline] Stuff like this is why some companies are very particular about their branding.
Who the fuck would buy a downgraded razer keyboard just for an overwatch branding though? It doesn't make any sense for them to demand razer gut their product simply because it offers a feature that can't be used in OW. It's not like macros are only useable for overwatch anyhow.
it's a licensed blizzard product it's not unreasonable at all to think that your licensed blizzard keyboard, themed around overwatch, would be able to use its features in overwatch without getting you banned it's not the end of the world, it's just a bit stupid on their part to not include any warnings or anything if they care that much about preventing macro usage
anyone else a decent sniper in any other game but can't hit shit in this? I got serious paranoia with hitboxes and registration because even during KotH, when everything slows down to transition into the intermission, I'll have extra time and concision to snipe someone in the head only for it to register as a regular hit :s: not only that, I have moments where I see what I clicked and it hits critically and I know its bullshit. like, what fucking gives
Every shot i take as widow feels like it hits just below my crosshair. Also is she hitscan or projectile?
Ended up buying the outfit and dance taunt for Lucio just as the event ended since that was what I mainly wanted. Also been binge watching a lot of DSPStanky's vids to see different areas to wall-grind and boop.
Every shot i take as widow feels like it hits just below my crosshair. Also is she hitscan or projectile?
complete hitscan, ana's unscoped shot is projectile but everything on widow is hitscan
6v6 lockout sounds intense as a support player. I mostly play Zen/Lucio and can't imagine last fights with no support. I guess s76 comes into this. Can't wait to try
Widowmaker bad for gameplay --> Roadhog OP --> "Mei shouldn't slow you"--> map design is bad --> lootbox --> repeat
Subjects like the lootbox system and the bad map design get repeated because they don't get any changes by Blizzard and especially the map design is a central part in the game. Which is why it's brought up often. And Blizzard refuses to improve it.
