So the event ended the day before the usual updates why? I just got home from work, was eating dinner and was going to finally just buy boxes to afford the skins I want.
Fucking stupid.
It ended May 1st when the weekly arcade reset. You had plenty of time to buy lootboxes, your own fault for leaving it to complete last minute.

Events for my timezone have always ended the morning of the patch, which for me is like 14 hours from now. Given how my experience since launch, I assumed I had until tomorrow morning.
Uprising just got reenabled, I just got an Uprising box as a drop after getting some regular ones. They're also back in the store. Arcade is missing the PvE event ofc tho
@Brt5470 buy fast

Thanks, went ahead and bought the 24boxes. Got four legendaries, all duplicates from non events and a fifth, mccree. Atleast I got him. I had enough to buy the Talon skin too.
thanks for keeping the game's content updates free
nice the skins are still purchasable
There's an obvious AoE that surrounds Roadhog called the "hookzone" that you should avoid.
Sometimes the solution is to simply git gud and learn to position.
The "hookzone," i.e. medium range, i.e. where 90% of the cast has to be to do anything useful, and where map design usually forces you into anyway.

So, then, is this not-- at least to a small degree-- a map design issue? And, yeah, I'll absolutely put some blame on this game's map design, because there's a lot of places where it's fucked.
Orisa has that ability
I'm talking as a passive, which is why I said ever.
Roadhog can always just bait out the fortify/bubble.
being immune to CC as a passive sounds a bit strong...
I join CTF. And we are versing a 6-stack when our team has no groups on it. I remember why I don't play CTF.
Looks like it was a mistake to end it early.

Hopefully they keep 1v1 enabled so I can farm faster
His hook isn't broken, his weapon isn't broken, but what really makes him strong is how all of these things come together to make him a great package, and his healing IMHO is what makes it all come together. He's able to flank and pick out very specific targets. This scales exponentially against teams who aren't properly organized, where roadhog becomes an absurd nightmare by picking off all your healers.
If you know how to position yourself and your tanks aren't garbage you won't have that much trouble against Roadhogs imho.
A flanking Roadhog should really get pushed and die vs an actual team.
That would depend upon what other abilities the hero has. If the hero doesn't have a band aid ability to protect the rest of their team it wouldn't be very strong at all.
IMHO it would be better to nerf hard CC instead.
"nerf hard CC"
what
how do you "nerf" hard CC
the entire point of it is that it is 'hard' CC, i.e. it's a complete disable. if you're getting hit with hard CC in the first place, you are (and should be) at least somewhat fucked, without careful play and escape contingencies/good teamwork
The map, short, and hero playlists on youtube have now updated with another video which is currently private.
Major announcement this week.
Got what'll probably be my last crate of the event, ended up with one of the Legendary Torb skins.
Blizzard's trying to sweet-talk me after all that "I think they fucked with the drop rates" business and it's not going to work.
[sp]I mean it might but still.[/sp]
Been having fun getting some loot from the tail end of the event, glad I decided to start playing again after a long hiatus.
That being said, I didn't really have that much fun in the Arcade Random 1v1 playlist when I was getting the box from it- it tended to roll absolutely awful hero picks for me and my opponent (dual Zarya, anyone?), and the the matches were either absolute sweat fests or me rolling my opponent hard. I can appreciate them putting boxes in Arcade as semi-guaranteed rewards, but I just feel like that gamemode isn't as fun as 6v6 random or even QP.
Managed to get the Tracer skin in my last few boxes. So thats cool I guess.
Sure as fuck wish AMD would fix their random, constant driver crashes when playing OW.
Or, pray tell, Blizzard would fix rejoining the fucking match after this happens. I think it has something to do with pressing "quit" on the OW window when it dies instead of killing with task manager, but fucking christ, it just plain does does not work in the most bizzarro ways half the time.
[editline]2nd May 2017[/editline]
I also love losing 30 SR in a game with 2 leavers after the first minute and 40 on a game we clearly would've won if it hadn't crashed or just let me rejoin. Who the fuck designed this?
idk if you're over or underthinking what I said. You nerf hard CC by increasing its cooldown, reducing it's radius, duration and charge rate if its an ultimate.
Some people don't like it when a game boils down to who presses Q the best?
Generally agree that when it comes to first person shooters (and basically all competitive games, to one extent or another) the less abilities you have inhibiting movement but I don't think Overwatch is ever going to be a game that doesn't boil down to pressing Q's the best. It's clear given how many characters have gamemaking ults that the devs were aiming for that sort of gameplay.
I did it! I managed to reach Masters :excited:

New short featuring Doomfist travelling to Numbani airport via plane, only to accidentally knock the pilot unconscious in a wacky slapstick routine where he punches them through the side of the cockpit, and he has to land the plane himself

Any tips on how to get gud with McCree?
I have my moments where I have a really good match and land some really impressive shots, but it's hardly consistent.

Practicing your left clicks and maintaining good positioning are the two big things with McCree. The mistakes I see other players making (from a support players viewpoint) are being way too close to the action than they need to be, and spamming their flashbang as soon as it's off cooldown to try and get a flashy right click and either not having it when they actually need it to survive or secure a kill, or getting it bounced right back into their face by the omnipresent Genji's.

this was the same advice that people were giving when the hook had a 6 second cooldown and it was still terrible advice
if you're not entering the aoe that hook can hit you in then roadhog is the best tank ever because nobody should ever leave spawn
A roadhog is free charge for Zarya.
A good Zarya can counter every single one of his hooks on teammates for that free 40% energy
For a good Zarya definitely.
A good Hog however will keep tabs on Zarya's positioning and cooldowns to know when to hook, and note that a successful M2 + hook combo will destroy Zarya in basically any situation.

Practice your positioning, and your roll is a really handy tool. I'd practice learning those because they're arguably more important than just landing your shots. Aim will come over time, but you can set yourself back by learning bad positioning, and that's harder to unlearn over time.
Well i got all the arcade loot boxes i could before the event ended, the Overwatch Gods really seem to like to keep giving me dupes of the Lucio Pose.
