I finally decided to get my placement matches out of the way. Have been forced to pick support because no one else will...I can see my rank go lower and lower as my teams seem to get worse and worse and seem to have more throwerrs. I started my first match playing with all plats. Now I am playing with all silver. Have only won once out of 7 games. Maybe I am just not meant to play this game.

I think she's fine tbh, I thought people would be asking for nerfs because of the cooldown of her barrier.
I think if you're going to buff anything, I think orisa should receive unlimited ammo during her damage boost.

The season is almost over, I don't think the result of placement matches this far into the season means anything.

It matters to me because it makes me feel like a shitty support to lose game after game.
And then I have a rank that shows it and I will be stuck with it

Never play support in comp. It's not worth it.
You could ask for support from fellow facepunchers? It seems playing solo always ends in misery, and some people could try to team up and climb ranks because you are not the only one with problems at silver-gold rank. Of course trying to coordinate such a gathering will be a nightmare, but its worth a shot.

I will be the first one to admit. I always think I am dragging a team down. and if something goes wrong I always think it's my fault. So It makes me feel better if its just randoms I will never see again then like friends or a group I try to get together.
I blame my self esteem issues.

can confirm, playing support just isn't worth it. it puts all the responsibility on you and you're always going to be wrong no matter how well you perform

Cool little insight, Dva's police skin has a siren sound effect when she dashes, its kinda quiet though.
They need to do something to make playing support more worth it in comp. The reason no one picks support is because it is the hardest job to keep everyone alive and you get jack shit for actually doing it. When comp seems to favor only doing DPS of course no one is going to pick support.
But boy does it feel good when someone says "Good work Mercy!"
Only play characters who can carry during Placement matches, like Soldier or Roadhog.
If you play Support, you'll end up with maybe two medals (even if you do an amazing job) and just stay in Silver/Gold hell.
Scum it out hard for medals and SR, the system is against you unless you're the MVP, there's honestly no way to get a good placement while playing Support.
Genji's health should be 175 imo
I guess I'm lucky to being in Platinum evey season. I decided to do my placement matches only as Lúcio (Except on one we already had 2 supports so I had to go with Reinhardt) and pretty much I got in the lower numbers. A friend of mine tried only playing tanks but that didn't went well since he wanted to play something else other than Reinhardt, which I rarely saw being picked despise someone always asking for him.
At least we had more fun than with quick-play due to better teamwork.

The sirens are like half the volume of the boosters themselves. They won't be a problem.

Don't blame yourself if the team cannot do properly, I have played support and got zero assistance from my team and, well, you can't do heals properly if the enemy Pharah + Genji pray upon you like a fat guy at the burger joint.
You can also try and take a break, sometimes I can do 10/10 as monkey man and other days feed ult to the enemy, I just switch to another game and forget about those sour experiences, but learn something from them and come back with a fresh mentality and hopes for a good play session.

I have no idea how people who exclusively play solo support heroes reach high ratings/win rates. I wonder how much of it comes down to callouts and getting teams that actually listen. Playing as Mercy with a team who is completely oblivious vs a team who can hear things and react quickly is day and night.

Play at the right time. Depends on your region but you'll figure it out. As a general rule friday through the weekend tend to be a goddamn clown fiesta most of the way through.
