Can you stream? I want to see what the bronze world looks like.
people have posted videos of what the lowest possible ranks are like, but bronze is the same as gold for the most part considering how confused the calibration system is
what am i doing wrong?
Honestly I'd suspect part of the problem is simply being stuck that low. Not that you can't win because your teammates are bad (it should be piss easy to hard-carry against enemies that bad), but that absolutely retarded shit that won't work against even slightly better players would seem like the only things that do work down there. [editline]5th May 2017[/editline] Also make it easier on yourself and fix your settings, the defaults are nigh-unplayable most of the time. It's not gonna do wonders but will help a bit. [editline]5th May 2017[/editline] For example, the render scale defaults to 90% for me which turns the game into a complete blurfest. If you crank the gamma correction and then turn down the brightness to match it's also far easier to see people on some maps. I don't think most people realize how bad it is but OW has really nasty visibility issues, it's just not as obvious as with i.e CS:GO where people you can't see will fuck you instantly. That and the red outlines help a bit in making the contours visible far away (even though the artists clearly didn't know what a contour was anyways, so it doesn't always help), aside for shit like the first point of W:G where the lighting can cause the outlines to disappear.
Can we nerf Roadhog's one shot bullshit before we decide to touch Hanzo's scatter arrow please Nothing in the game should one-shot except ultimates or headshots from snipers, and I guess Reinhardt's charge.
If you get hooked by him or let him get close enough so he can one-shot you, it's your fault.
doesnt make him any more fun to play as/against
If you get hooked by him or let him get close enough so he can one-shot you, it's your fault.
So basically you're saying I need to be behind a shield 24/7 to be considered safe vs Roadhog. Yeah good luck with that. Also how are you supposed to avoid getting close to him if he were to walk onto an objective?
doesnt make him any more fun to play as/against
Is anybody fun to play against? I hear this argument a lot, but it barely makes sense. Nobody says "oh tracer is so much fun to play against" or "oh man, this reaper is so much fun to play against". Also, what does it have to do with having fun playing as Roadhog? He punishes bad positioning so he's pretty easy to get kills with.
Can we nerf Roadhog's one shot bullshit before we decide to touch Hanzo's scatter arrow please Nothing in the game should one-shot except ultimates or headshots from snipers, and I guess Reinhardt's charge.
Remove the one shot and you basically render him useless
As a Roadhog main, let me tell you most of those picks are not easy unless someone is utterly out of position and you can just hook them straight. You don't need to be behind a shield to be safe, just be in position for your tanks to protect you, any tank will do. If anything he's more of a tank buster that punishes squishies for bad positioning. [editline]5th May 2017[/editline] Most of my kills don't even involve the hook though, the shotgun is completely fucking insane.
Remove the one shot and you basically render him useless
Why is it that everytime people bring up the problematic pieces of Roadhog's kit, they always say he'll be worthless if they were to nerf it? Is it main bias or just bad hero design? Honestly, Hook + M1 shouldn't guarantee him alone a free kill, if anything Hook should be used solely to set up kills for HIS TEAM, you know, the job a tank is fucking supposed to have in addition to blocking damage?
Honestly, Hook + M1 shouldn't guarantee him alone a free kill, if anything Hook should be used solely to set up kills for HIS TEAM, you know, the job a tank is fucking supposed to have in addition to blocking damage?
That's what he does though, at least at a higher level of play. You can avoid being directly hit by him directly pretty easily, but he can absolutely strongarm the positioning of the entire enemy team as they have to avoid him. That and hooking tanks out of the way. [editline]5th May 2017[/editline] Basically, the hook is so easy to avoid for squishies that it's not even funny, half the power is in the threat of him 1shotting you, not in actually doing it. For tanks on the other hand it's a huge problem since he can single-handedly vaporize them.
Some heroes are fun to verse. Because it is fun to have fair competition against characters that are pretty balanced. Characters like Reaper and Tracer are annoying. But still balanced for what they are. I know its hard to believe but being 1-shot by a basic ability isn't fun.
Blizzard no
I'd like to see Roadhogs 1shot being removed as much as anyone, since it's a huge pain to have an entire game hinge on hitting a single shot (unless using the hook, since then it's usually easy to hit). The problem is that they designed half the fucking game around unavoidable kills with i.e Ana's existence. [editline]5th May 2017[/editline] See also: Graviton / Earthshatter.
those are ultimate abilities though
Maybe it just wasn't a good idea to design a character around one ability that 1-shots and without it they are considered useless.
Reaper really needs to have his spread tightened
Reaper really needs to have his spread tightened
don't put that image in my head
Graviton and Earthshatter just feel garbage to be hit by. Brb getting punished for grouping up as a team in a team game
Graviton and Earthshatter just feel garbage to be hit by. They're 2 of the better ults in the game but they're not without counters Especially considering how common Rein is, so you have your Rein to hopefully block the enemy rein, and then you have Zarya players favourite past time which is to hard telegraph when they want to ult

It's like a game of wack-a-mole and it's really satisfying when you nail them. It's not something that you hear said alot because it's not something people really notice unless something's off, but classes being fun to play against is a pretty fundamental part of what makes Class based games fun to begin with.

When you're fighting Tracers or Reapers, it's more fair than a Widowmaker at range or Hanzo.
Played against a salty af grand master. Took a bunch of screens because he kept telling our team to hang themselves and record it on stream. Any way to actually get some action against this guy? I reported him but want to send in some screens to show how awful he was being.
Is dying ever fun in Overwatch?
for mercy it is mercy is like those arsonist firefighters in those small towns who set fires to shit so they have something to put out
Is dying ever fun in Overwatch?
Well...
Is dying ever fun in Overwatch?
There's a difference between being like "oh yeah I probably deserved that death" and "okay there was nothing i could even do there what"
Is dying ever fun in Overwatch?
I consider this a loaded question, as it depends on the context. I think the netcode needs to be fixed up to make things more consistant like Roadhog's hook; however if I died as Symmetra but sent back the med, a pocket and an auxiliary character to spawn so my team now has a 5-3 advantage, I would say it's a win/win.
Is dying ever fun in Overwatch?
I can find dying fun and amusing when I play Winston and die while jumping because watching him ragdoll and fly off into the distance is priceless whether its you or an enemy winston
