ofc the event is going to launch next week, did anyone really think blizzard would launch an OW event while the ''get 10 OW lootboxes'' event is running in HotS?
Well it would have been a nice thank you for supporting the game it's first year. But I guess giving people 10 free event lootboxes would hit their pocket to much.

I mean their selling a copy that does that sooooo yes I guess?
i get where you're coming from but as soon as blizzard has your money they don't care about being fair to you anymore.
The events has made this very clear.
if we don't get a major non-event content patch soon im done with this game tbh
Do you consider character releases content patches because they technically do add 50ish new items to the lootbox pool but only for that one character.
im just tired of these constant "burst of people/my friends playing for like 2-3 weeks because the items are time limited, but as soon as the event is over people dont wanna play anymore until the next event"

This is actually incredibly creative if it hasn't been done before
I honestly think that if you took out Orisa from the game, nobody would really care. She's just that forgettable.
She is just so bland as a hero and as a character. I mean even Sombra at least has a personality and two quirks in her abilities that help make her interesting. Orisa is just "I'm like Chappie, but I have the bargain bin equivalent of two tanks abilities and a gun that can't kill good! Notice me!"
I mean when the best part of the character is the eyes, you have to start doing some interesting things for that character.
I want to like Orisa. But she is just so mediocre in like every way. She is cute yes but that is all she really has going for her.

Eyes are usually the most important part of a character's expressions and visuals. Same issue arises when you use Zarya's military skins. There are exceptions for this, like Genji and Reinhardt's helmet visors.
As for her being forgettable altogether, it's because she doesn't have as much of an impact on the game as Ana, and she didn't have as much of a lead up as Sombra did. Sombra also had an impressive cinematic. Orisa doesn't really have any connections to the other characters either, except for "Wow, Zarya/Lucio, I'm your biggest fan!".
Being new, she also lacks a lot of personality traits and interactions, but it seems like they intend on progressively update her over time, which fits with the theme of being a completely new AI construction.

I understand that part, but her responses and conversations with the other characters is just so fucking boring. They aren't even well written their like you said "Oh Lucio I like your music!" Hell even in the leaked voice responses she's just "Zaryabyour graviton is neat!" There's no meat or details to the character
To compare to (let's say) the d.va interactions, who at least has a (fucking bad but visible) personality and character to her. She responses to heroes, maps, locations, and has more than two of the fucking lines per hero. Orisa is just bland to listen to. She doesn't offer misplaced advice to anyone, or anything "cute but learning" like a character like Orisa should do. It's like a permanent toddler but without the cuteness

I quite like her. I like having a psuedo Reinhardt barrier without having to just stand around holding right click and hoping that my teammates do damage and her gun reminds me of playing Heavy back in TF2, albeit somewhat weaker. I also think her character design is pretty unique, particularly for an FPS. I'd actually argue her design is one of the more original in the cast.
Her personality is super bland though. Even by Overwatch standards she has very little going on. And her weird graviton bubble feels kinda' slapped on (although it's certainly not useless, just kinda' out of place with the rest of her design).
i just think Orisa need unlimited ammo when she ults as well as a constant testosterone filled yell similar to that of a rambo movie. i think that would give her more personality

I already forgot she existed tbh. At least Sombra gets some play and I can confirm that there are at least a handful of Sombra mains in the 3500s. Literally haven't seen anyone pick Orisa at all though.
Orisa really needs her interactions, it's baffling that she has none
Orisa really needs her interactions, it's baffling that she has none
it would be cool if we got shared emotes where zarya, torbjorn, junkrat, and roadhog all gang up on orisa and beat her up for being a filthy omnic haha
I am absolutely fine with filler hybrid characters like orisa to fill out the cast. But the thing i often forget is that most regular casual overwatch people don't think orisa is any less 'important' or well developed than any other character. Not everyone sees all the stuff that happens outside the gameplay and even something like the pre-game interactions a lot of regular people don't even know about.
Orisa looks and sounds like a NPC. I wont be suprised if I founf her in a dwarven estructure in Skyrim tbh :v:
I like Orisa

i mean it's not that far fetched to find overwatch characters in skyrim
At least none of the omnics are claptrap tier grabage
At least none of the omnics are claptrap tier grabage
The training bots might as well be claptrap bootlegs.

I have to say, if we take aside the fact that Overwatch characters can't belong in Skyrim period, that doesn't look that bad and could had been much, much worse
Problem is, I don't think Orisa really excells at anything to really be considered taking up a valuable tank slot; that and she's already relatively easy to keep under control considering her shots aren't hitscan

Yeah it could've been worse. You'd think that it would be deviantart levels of bad but people actually put tons of effort into anything female related.

what thread am i in btw
I know it's sad that the anniversary event didn't launch today but expecting the anniversary event to launch today is like showing up at someone's house for a party before the invitations are sent out and then demanding goodie bags just because you heard a rumor that there would be a party.
I know I'm guilty of this. V:v:V
2 weeks of "fun grinding" here we come
maybe the anniversary event will have less content, hence only 2 weeks for it.
makes sense since they just finished working on a different event
Nope, they confirmed another set of 100+ items
