You know, I honestly hope we get a Reaper comic this patch.
Because he has the most open plot points out of everyone except maybe fucking Torb and mercy. Everyone else is pretty much closed up their stuff early on (Hanzo, 76, Winston, Tracer, Widow, Genjo etc)

Now I want a flying anime girl mecha tank character in Overwatch.
Seriously though, a flying tank would be very interesting.

She's not that interesting, all she does is spout gamer memes
D.va doesn't fly. That's falling with style.
Finished the Nexus Challenge and got my 10 Overwatch loot boxes.
Dupes and blues/greys galore.
I seriously doubt those are concept art.
What if its some multiverse, flashpoint paradox shit?
Tracers slips through time and ends up in an alternate timeline?
You know the zarya skin looks like she's wearing a racing helmet, bastion looks like a car, pharah sort of looks like she's wearing a stylized racing outfit with her helmet and scarf, and that gold symbol looks like a victory medallion. Soldier doesn't really fit in with this as well (though the 76 symbol on his side kind of fits the racing asthetic, but his cyborg stuff and the camo not so much), but do you guys think it's possible that we're going to get a TF2 doomsday_event style go-cart minigame thing for the arcade?
[t]http://media.mmo-champion.com/images/news/2014/november/overwatchOrigins010.jpg[/t]
You mean Pharah could have been Metal Gear Ray?
Well now I'm just disappointed.
Every single event so far has been met with people complaining about skins they don't like, or that their main didn't get a skin. This isn't new, but with today's reveal of 4 of the new Anniversary event skins it's present more than ever. There is something very important we're forgetting.
These skins are free. Blizzard probably put close to hundreds of hours designing unique skins to add to the game, then they do so FOR FREE. They don't charge for DLC skin packs like almost every other developer these days, they just add them.
I am baffled as to why people feel like Blizzard owe them something. Blizzard do not owe us any skins, let alone skins tailored to your specific tastes. I really don't understand how people can complain about free content. To me it's like complaining that the free sample you were offered at the shopping mall wasn't the right flavour. Where has this sense of entitlement come from?
I feel so bad for Blizzard the devs on a fixed salary who stayed overtime to put the skins together when they're excited about releasing a new event for us, then people just complain because the right heroes didn't get skins or they don't like the skins. In doing this we're discouraging them taking risks and making unique skins and events. Blizzard, please don't forget that we really appreciate the effort and the content you add for free to keep the game fresh.
EDIT: I feel the need to add this in an edit because it's a common theme in the comments. The sense of entitlement doesn't come from people expecting to get skins in loot boxes. It comes from the "I payed for the game so I deserve to like every skin which is added" attitude.
I never thought I would find a actual blizzard whale in the wild, but I did.

Oh yeah the comments were eating the OP alive.

Completely valid opinion... If the game was F2P.

Blizz makes bank on the panic purchases, I bet they have a huge spike of people buying boxes in the last day or so of events. I don't know if anyone had linked them to this report from ActiBlizz point blank stating Blizzard has now made over a billion dollars from Overwatch, but it does need to be stated because people still think what Blizzard does with the crate contents is one worth of praise at this point.
I think people are forgetting that they originally paid $40-$60 for the game and were already promised this content.
or they are just trying to white knight for Blizzard.

I think its more "WE MUST BE LOYAL OR WE'LL GET DROPPED FOR STARCRAFT 3!" plus whiteknighting.
Even though Overwatch has sold more and is making BANK for Blizz.

As far as I know, only thing promised for free after the purchase was maps and heroes. Skins were not mentioned.
and were already promised this content
Can you elaborate on this please
I could swear they promised all future updates would be free as a selling point for the game.
And it is perfectly reasonable to be upset/disappointed that "free" updates are structured in a way to encourage buying lootboxes. Yes the items are added for free but the system is set up in a way where you have to pay a lot to get everything in a game you paid for.

I've been able to get everything I want without spending a dollar just by playing regularly. I don't really see the argument here.
You can either play actively or you can buy a shortcut. It's not a perfect system by any means but it isn't nearly as bad as a lot of people here make it sound.
The only issue I have with the system is event items being triple the price, and also you getting almost no coins for a duplicate.
Besides those two the system is fine

It all depends on luck really. Like it is estimated that when uprising released. It would require opening an average of 3575 boxes to get all normal items, uprising items, and to get enough coins to buy past event items that you might have missed. Without past event items it would have been about 3100 boxes to get all normal items, icons, and all uprising items
Doesn't matter how much you play. The system makes it close to impossible to get everything unless you want to pay upwards of $3000+ :v:

That's including all the shitty sprays and player icons nobody wants I assume

When the Halloween event was around all I wanted was the Wolf player icon and I played a lot during the event and event bought $10's worth of look boxes and never got it. It fucking pissed me off because player icons are the one thing you cant buy with credits and so my chances of getting the one thing I wanted were entirely luck based.

Don't worry buddy! You can try again in 5 months!
i love that their excuse for making skins triple the price is to make people feel """"special""" or """"exclusive"""" for having gotten the skin, but theyre really not. ex: everyone and their mom using combat medic/witch

That's the main reason why I don't use those skins
I pretty much use the defaults for everyone. If I use a skin at all, it's just for a game or two at a time.
People bought Overwatch for free content updates, not cosmetic events. Blizzard needs to add more content that affects the game rather than the wallets of whales. The new arena maps are a nice start, but they need to do more. They need to bring back the horde mode and create new maps for it, redesign old maps to be actually good, and take a closer look at game balance. Make this a game worth playing rather than grinding.
People need to vote with their wallet. If the events didn't make any money, they'd probably stop.
I for one wouldn't mind a rarer drop rate of the event crates after the event is over. Still chance to get event items after the event, albeit at a rarer drop than regular loot.
