Feels bad when Overwatch Contenders starts in 2 weeks and I'm still a free agent
I mean if anyone wants to start a team, I bet we could do pretty well.

I mean its probably engine limitations. Source has already had all that facial animation stuff so it would make sense for it to be in TF2, but the same thing might not be possible for OW. The faces change for when they get hurt, but having full animations for voicelines is different.
What engine did they use? CS:GO also lacks lip-sync despite being much more recently made on Source. i suppose when it comes to how small their mouths are and how little time you spend getting a good view of the character's face, they decided the effort wasn't worth the payoff[/del]
HotS has facial animations for the characters though you can't even see them in game.
well shit blizzard what
HotS has facial animations for the characters though you can't even see them in game.
HotS has facial animations for the characters though you can't even see them in game.
So what's the point of it if you can't see it in game?
So what's the point of it if you can't see it in game?
his point is more that they went through the effort there but not here, where it makes sense to do so
his point is more that they went through the effort there but not here, where it makes sense to do so
Ah, I get it now. My mistake
HotS has facial animations for the characters though you can't even see them in game.
You mean besides the hero portrait in the bottom left corner. And the ability to zoom in to he characters.
Overwatch really isn't fun without friends. Comp or QP. It doesn't matter. It's frustrating. It also makes trying to learn new heroes a pain. I don't want to get stuck playing a hero I know nothing about, being more of an hindrance than anything. Frustrations aside, any tips for playing Rein? It's the one tank I feel I don't play right at all.
his point is more that they went through the effort there but not here, where it makes sense to do so
Where the game is slower, you always have an animated character portait on your screen, and your characters don't have a large array of facial animations that play whenever you get hit or use an ability. Your characters also talk much more often. You can either have facial animations tied to your current situation which look more natural for the small duration you'll notice them, or speaking animations that don't convey as much relevant emotion, but allow you to see lips moving in spawn if you stare at someone's face. Having both might not be possible with the engine, and is going to make it look odd when both automatic animations and voice-based animations overlap or interrupt eachother. Not to mention adding lipsyncing and such tied to your current voiceline is a lot more work on its own, which I'd much rather have spent somewhere else. Most of the time when character faces "animate" in HotS, it's just their mouths moving. There's very little effort put into it, and it frankly looks bad. There's a reason Overwatch doesn't already have animations tied to voicelines, and it's certainly not the same amount of effort to do as spawning a sprite when you hit a solid world object.
i wonder what the arcade mode will be. itd be neat if youd be able to replay the past ones from the whole year, cant think of what else you could do for an anniversary.
it still is unimportant in this game, sorry bub.
Well your favorite character seems to be Roadhog, so uh

I hate to admit it but i love the firsts 2 aviator early concept of Tracer.
Damn, I tried to get as close to leveling without actually doing it so I can get an instant box when the event hits later. Accidentally went over the edge.
I still want the rocket queens gun, that huge rail gun looking thing
