They're two of the most multi-task intensive characters in the game.
Zen is simple enough, just always make sure your Orbs are on someone. Put Harmony on people who are gonna move around a lot and get right into the thick of it, going places that other healers wouldn't be able to survive (Winston and Genji are ideal candidates). Other than that, toss it on whoever needs it, but always make sure it's on SOMEONE.
As for Discord, use it to mark targets who are either 1) gonna be a bitch to pin down (Pharah), 2) can present a real threat to your team if they slip past your front line (Pharah), or 3) are making your life a personal hell (Pharah).
Put the Discord on Pharah, is what I'm saying. Other than that, same deal. Prioritize those who NEED it, but you can just stick it on whoever and forget about it until they die or it wears off.
Other than that, aim for the head, use M2 around corners and to melt shields/turrets from afar, try and stay mobile. Also your Ult charges hella fast, so don't be afraid to pop it, even if you're just gonna save yourself and maybe one other dude.

Also, if a Reinhardt yolo charges your team, discord him and call your team to melt him down. Same with a Winston. (unless your Ana is saving her sleep dart for them regularly, in which case leave them alone of course)
For Zarya, your self-bubble is how you build energy -- your team bubble is to save your teammates. When you're learning to Zarya, only use it to save a teammate who would die otherwise. If the other team has a hog, save it for when one of your teammates gets hooked as #1 priority, otherwise if someone goes in too deep, bubble them to save them as they back out.
Play aggressive when you have self-bubble up, then back up when their team is focusing you to get the energy -- but not so aggressive that they'll burn your bubble instantly and still kill you. Similarly, play aggressive when you have high energy. Zarya's DPS output is [I]insane[/I] at high energies (60+).
When the other team has a Dva, try to get her out of mech asap. If they have a Genji, you can shoot through deflect, so make him afraid to play aggressive -- a lot of Genjis will go in deep to harass, then deflect and back out to safety, but if you can punish his deflect (remember that he has no damage output of his own while deflecting), you can shut him down well.
Save your grav for when Dva is out of mech or Genji's reflect is down, ideally. If that's not possible, shoot it at a wall or the ground close enough to them that it'll pull them, but not so close that you risk getting deflected or eaten by Defense Matrix.
Unless you're coordinating a grav combo (Hanzo Dragonstrike, Genji blade, even high noon), don't hold onto your grav for too long. A two man grav with a clean followup is much better than losing a teamfight without using your grav. Try to only grav when you have decent energy, because sometimes your team will be too busy to help you with the followup and you need to handle it yourself -- but having decent energy makes this easy enough. Also, make sure you reload before grav.
So i finally got the free lootbox from 1v1 arcade. I got it because my opponent literally threw the match and kept jumping straight off the platform. But i don't mind i got the lootbox!

Honestly the main reason I want to get good at Zenyatta is because I think he's one of the most interesting characters I've ever seen in a shooter, in both a design and gameplay sense.

On that note, I really disagree with not losing rank when you fall below that rank's SR. Changing it back to how it was might reduce "wow good mm gg blizz" toxicity, as well as players being flamed for legitimately making it to Diamond and then legitimately falling to gold/plat, as I see semi-regularly. blizz pls revert.

Something massively fucked up with anniversary update. Both QP and Comp have absolute shit matchmaking atm, at least that's how it works for me.
I've been seeing a lot of 5 or 6 groups in QP, all ranked bronze star or higher, occasionally all silvers
