[t]http://i.imgur.com/AiQF47w.png[/t] You can pretty much grasp what the article is by the title, but here's the whole thing if you want it
Glad Blizzard is getting their ass blasted for this. They got away with Uprising surprisingly.
For as cancerous as the TF2 economy is, I felt a lot less guilty about buying Keys once I was able to dump an item I didn't want on the market place, make a few virtual fun bucks, and exchange that for something I DID want. There's a very simple solution to this: a trade system. Only instead of Steam Trading, where the exchange rate for hats can fluctuate to the point that people are trading a dozen items for a single accessory, make it so that every trade is 1:1. A skin for a skin, or a set amount of coins (100, 500, 1000, 3000). Now you have a system that allows people to get the items they want, but also continues to exploit the completionist whales who will drop $200 every event. It's all the fun of an in-game economy without the constraints of the economy being dictated by a braindead playerbase.
I just want them to start adding non-event based content to the game instead of locking everything behind events. Like, it's cool that they added some new emotes in the new update, but it's idiotic that they're locking the fucking dancing emotes behind the event. Like what the fuck?

Imagine if you could trade all your trash skins for the ones you actually wanted. Everybody would have all the skins they wanted after a couple dozen hours and nobody would get frustrated enough to waste their money on the Overslot machine
FUCK THIS GAMES LOOT SYSTEM still no event legendary like 30 boxes in
The whole problem is blizzard being so stingy with gold. Even when paying for lootboxes, the amount of gold you get from drops or duplicates is just pathetic. A legendary gold drop being 1/6th an event skin makes it impossible.
The names of those golden icons are awful.
Those golden icons are awful.

The names of those golden icons are auful.
I think Mei's icon has the worst name. It's not even a pun on gold. It's just May.
I sure love those games where you're getting melted by absolutely everything for no discernable reason. Winston doing 200 damage per second? Makes sense. I think it might've been due to a bugged Widow or Reaper, but it's impossible to tell (sometimes the screen shake effect / hit sound / firing sound for either just don't work correctly until you restart the game, so you can spend quite some time getting fucked by either if you aren't looking at them).

You get a duplicate of event legendary (3000 gold)? Also just 200 gold.
i got another fuckin player icon crate with three whites
There are skins and things I really would like, and now I have to face disappointment because I'm going through a really busy and stressful time in my life
On my first 3 boxes. I got the same event player icon 3 times in a row. Gee it makes me wonder if Blizzard has a system in place to make this happen on purpose.
Why is every player I encounter in 1vs1 a "gg ez" retard.
On my first 3 boxes. I got the same event player icon 3 times in a row. I'm almost inclined to believe it.
Turns out Ana's sleep dart on Total Mayhem is timed just right to allow her to sleep-lock anyone she likes FOREVER :v: [t]http://i.imgur.com/tTmHQdh.jpg[/t] I was Winston on Route 66 and this one Ana kept darting me for the entire match and I couldn't stop laughing the whole time, there even was a Lucio that passed by and hung out with us doing emotes and saying hi I love this gamemode, holy shit, it may have eternal overtime but these kind of things make it worth it.

wowey what an ebin event legendary haha thanks so much blizzard this is just what i wanted lol time to grind for another hour xd
Honestly I think it's ridiculous that people are this outraged about being unable to get every last skin. I mean there are people calling this a scandal, for god's sake. Blizzard released a quality-ass game for $40 dollars, beneath the generally agreed upon full price. There is no grind for Heroes in Overwatch. You don't have to pay for expansions with all new heroes and maps. There's no season pass. We live in an age where having to pay or grind for days to get updates is just something you have to live with if you play modern video games, and they didn't go for that monetization scheme when they easily could have. Being unable to get every last rare cosmetic in an event is not "greedy consumer-hating assholes" make, guys.
idk why they don't make it so that these lootboxes have a minimum of 2 event items [editline]25th May 2017[/editline] actually i mean i do but cmon
At least you guys can play. I may have to order a new motherboard which shaves off a good third of my time
didnt they go out of their way to lengthen her cooldown in mayhem so she couldnt do that
I tried myself today and nope, I can pull it off with good timing. I wouldn't be surprised if they did, tho

I just got off 1v1s with some guy who was begging me to throw

I think the thing that bothers me most about the lootbox situation is that it's so transparently just so they can farm microtransactions. Blizzard is all "oh, we have the most amazing fanbase, thanks for an amazing year, you're all wonderful!", yet it comes off as totally disingenuous considering the only reason they have for not improving parts of their product is "well if we fixed that yeah it would make people happy but we'd also rake in less money on lootboxes so yeah no go". Like, fuck's sake man, this is a full price game. I paid $40 for the standard edition because that was all I could afford at the time, and even that required reading a lot of fine print and clicking in the right place; I know plenty of people who paid the full $60 because they're either playing on console or didn't even know the standard edition was an option. They parade Jeff around to the public because people love him, but the business tactics beneath it all are really fucking scummy. It all just puts a super bad taste in my mouth. I could understand wanting to farm as much lootbox revenue as possible if this was a Free-To-Play game, but people paid money upfront, you'd think that would earn us the bare minimum respect from them that they wouldn't try to pull shit like this so blatantly.
I just want the dune buggy and dance emote for Bastion I want to make best bot dance his heart out
