I didnt mind the event restrictions when the skins were actually related to the event, but apparently Soldier 76 being a cyborg and being able to dance has something to do with Overwatch's birthday

The fact of the matter is, the complaints are nothing new but the straw that broke the camels back was the the compounding dislike from all the previous events and the sheer greed this time around tied to an event meant to celebrate "the fans"

It has only been 3ish days. I would imagine it would take more then that to think of a solution that would make the most people happy. While still bringing Blizzard profit of course.

First time I saw Lucio's skin I thought he was supposed to be a pimp.
I even had plans to change my battle.net name to "A pimp called Slickback". The dark glasses don't help either.

Thanks for sharing this, I wrote an angry reply which will no doubt be downvoted massively by the OW fanboys and whales but at least there's a chance the dev team might see it. It probably won't make a difference but it's better than saying nothing.
Really wish there was double xp or something. You need to win what, 5-6 games to level up during quick play? The grind is real.
Oh how I love losing 35 elo for failing to carry an unranked and a platinum versus 5 masters. That was one of the least existent teams I've ever seen, what the fuck Blizzard.

Actually the reward for least existent team is that one game we had a Winston constantly complaining about the healing, and none of the healers had seen a Winston for the entire game except for the first 10 seconds.
Nobody really knows where the fuck he was, but he definitely wasn't simply behind them. Personally I think I only saw supports + our rein that entire game.

I think double loot box drop is a better idea, double XP will lead to inflated player levels.
I know level =/= skill, but it's an indicator of familiarity and general knowledge at the very least.

the funny thing is that they first "acknowledged" that they were reading the feedback on twitter after people yelled at them, and only until people started yelling at them for not acknowledging it sooner and on the forums, they finally did.
I bet they're not going to do anything until this event is over.

Maybe I just particularly don't give too much of a shit about skins (so this probably is a pretty dissenting opinion), but it feels less like these event-only-skins are exploiting the whole playerbase, and more like they're exploiting the [i]whales[/i] of the playerbase? Probably a good 95%+ of people are never going to buy any loot boxes and are only going to use the stuff that drops naturally.
Imo if this sort of stuff makes them more money, and continues to fund more free heros, maps, and other events where I might get some neat skins then I'm pretty ok with them

the thing is though is that the game is full priced (and $40 on pc). it's also being developed by a multi-billion dollar developer that's supported financially by another multi-billion dollar company (activision).
this whole sympathy for big business and how if you don't buy lootboxes they're going to go bankrupt is dumb as hell.

"The Event was well received if you ignore the complaints about the lootboxes"
