First season of competitive Overwatch for me... Was fun. Placed about 2700, climbed to 3100, duo queue 14 loss streak + losing down to 2200, decided to watch some pro players and learn team roles, then solo queued up to 3750
e: was in Overbuff's top 1% competitive soldiers for a short time but fell back to 98% :(

i really don't like king of the hill, i wish it wasn't in the game or at the very least that I could filter it out because i do not have fun playing it, and I do not like playing russian roulette when I queue and possibly ending up getting queued into the fiftieth game of fucking nepal

I really don't like king of the hill because lucio is a requirement as a healer and I'm tired of playing lucio.
No one picks healers in quick play unless it's the last picker who gives a shit about team comp (me). Even then, that doesn't always happen because we would have a team of sombra, orisa, hanzo, widowmaker, trace and the last guy would pick genji.

Got the same mercy skin last night. I really wish you could exchange skins you don't want for the same gold a duplicate would give you. It would give the player a bit more freedom to get the skins they want, for heroes they actually play.
should probably do what tf2 did and make it so you can trade like 2 legendary skins for a legendary skin for a hero of your choice
but i could imagine the scenario where you trade 2 legendary skins for a duplicate legendary skin and no one is happy

double / triple dupe coins during event. Because 200 for a dupe legendary is an insult.

Yes, you can get bad teammates, throwers, trolls, griefers, smurfs... But if you're soloqueuing, the odds of the other team having a thrower, troll, etc is exactly the same. The only variable in your solo queue is yourself, and if you're playing dozens of games and not ranking up, you're either an extreme statistical anomaly or you're just not as good as you think you are.
There is [I]always[/I] something you can do better. Sometimes your teammates won't be doing their jobs, but you can always do your job better, and make calls to your team to tell them what they should be doing.

Had to deal with a guy yesterday that insisted that he be allowed to play Pharah and someone go Mercy for him and he'd carry hard. His 54% winrate wasn't convincing me but obviously I wouldn't say that, I just picked a ground healer and let him do his thing... And he was the most average Pharah for his rank. But of course, at the end of the game, he's going off on the comms about the healers, the tanks, the other DPS, saying he was fragging out (read: he wasn't). That's not to even mention that he wanted Pharmercy, which is effectively 1 above-average hero so we were 5v6 the whole time and he wasn't fragging to justify that. I guarantee you this guy went into his next game pulling the same spiel, performing exactly the same, and hurling toxicity around again, because that's the attitude you get -- even if you're not so outspoken with it -- when you call it a luck based game.[/QUOTE]
Any matchmaking in any game is luck based. There's nothing you can do "better" in solo q about how lucky you get with your teammates.

2 seasons ago i was placed really low, last season i was placed around 2000. This season started (after 9 wins in placements) at 1600. I've climbed up to 2250 by now, and basicly all games for this entire month were win/lose/win/lose/win/lose. I've topped 2301 and am now back at 2250.
I've literally not moved a single rank to this, really demotivating
are there rules to offseason comp?
