Legit question, how the fuck does anyone get kills with Sym's turrets? I place them in these hidden places and people find them immediately, but god forbid the enemy team has one, who puts all of hers in really obvious doorways, and somehow carwashes MY ENTIRE FUCKING TEAM EXCEPT FOR ME

Most of the hidden places are well known. People expect them to be hidden, and if they're in the open, people don't look.
Try putting them on the bumpers of the cars that litter some maps, or on short outcroppings out of sight. People always look high and around corners for Sym turrets, so putting them on the back sides of smaller objects will catch them off guard. [editline]30th May 2017[/editline] Moreover, put them in spots that are awkward to shoot unless you're close to them, and spread them out as much as you can while still allowing all of them to target the enemy at once.
Don't stack them, most importantly. You want them also to take their time destroying them one by one, instead of blasting them all off at once with an explosion or Winston's gun.

I guess just placing them out in the open on the floor is such a stupid idea that people aren't looking for them there? It depends on the situation but in my experience it helps defending capture points and KotH. I think kill gates are fine but only if you or the rest of your team are tending to them. If someone's not there then they won't be distracted and it'll get taken out very quickly. Generally I find putting them higher or lower (usually lower since people tend to look backwards and up the moment they're getting hit by a symm beam) than expected helps, as well as spreading them out. Generally people will be looking straight forward so if it gets you 1 second more of damage, well then hey, that's 1 more second of damage.
Put them in places where they'll be fighting. If they have to choose between shooting at your teammate or sym turrets they'll pick your teammate every time.

Also like Nightfury said, you wanna spread them out instead of putting them all in one corner. Those turrets have a surprising amount of reach.

God damn, I really wish this game let you adjust horizontal and vertical mouse sensitivity separately. I keep finding myself undershooting horizontally and overshooting vertically, or the inverse if I lower the overall sensitivity to compensate. Headshots have never been a problem for me in any game where I can set horizontal/vertical mouse sensitivity, but here, where headshots are highly crucial for every character I play, I just can't land them consistently.

Might be worth to invest in one.
Oh I know, but for whatever reason I can't get the game to respect my H/V sensitivity override unless I run it in borderless window, but that cuts my performance by 30-ish percent for reasons I don't fully understand. Why?[/QUOTE] No clue, but I remember it taking quite a lot of public noise before they added a FoV slider, and despite numerous complaints they still haven't added better colourblind options. In reality it shouldn't be hard to add different sensitivity for either axis, they've already had that for controllers since launch. Blizzard works in mysterious ways.
