Read the game page (Ignore user reviews and the godawful website links from PCGamer and whatnot), set aside 4 hours or so with a nice drink (alcohol recommended) and have fun!

Assuming I did get to the end for real, I really enjoyed it, a lot of fun horror, I liked the [sp]starting out with subtle fourth wall cracks with it becoming more obvious as the game goes on. The thing where it uses your PC user name was great, really got me for a second.[/sp] I was doing the Yuri route and [sp]that shit they did with her eyes really got the uncanny valley spot on. The whole premise of taking the shy misunderstood character and flipping it by making them turn into a complete fucking stalker creep was a great subversion.[/sp] I think the premise of the game kind of shoots itself in the foot by the end though,[sp] because the entire point is that you stop caring about the characters, which means the ending doesn't have much of a punch. If the game is constantly reminding me that everybody's a fictional character with no free will, I'm not really going to care about any of it. The Stanley Parable pulled a similar stunt to the Monika deletion with one of the endings, but it was much more impactful because the game keeps up enough of the illusion by the end that the fate of the character doesn't seem totally irrelevant.[/sp]

[Sp]I actually didn't realize she said anything after you get the still image of her, so I just deleted her the moment she stopped talking. I had assumed that they couldn't possibly keep up the illusion of a character being sentient indefinitely,
and that the whole "I'll start talking in a minute just wait" was their way of bowing out and that she would just sit there until you delete her. Sounds like they went the extra mile though and I missed out on some content. [/Sp]

I wouldn’t really call it a true ending, there’s not really much substance to it. The one you got is generally considered the true ending. There’s a bonus ending for getting all the CGs before a certain point in the game though, yes.

EDIT: Just finished DDLC. I thought it was a really cool game and dang the tricks it pulled were not only spooky, but pretty surprising. Really enjoyed it.

So, I decided to try something different.

[sp]Instead of picking any particular girl, I intentionally veered away from Yuri, Natsuki and Sayori by never picking specific terms or aiming for a particular outcome - except only choosing Monika every time. Sadly, nothing came out of that. But, I'm on the "ending" now, stuck in space/nothingness and I'm choosing NOT to delete Monika's file, just to see what happens.[/sp] It's pretty cool. [sp]She's quiet for a while and then starts making conversation, bringing up topics like questioning the archetypes in the game, telling you about herself.[/sp]
