[sp]How do you stop Sayori from killing herself? It happens no matter what I do.[/sp]
[sp]How do you stop Sayori from killing herself? It happens no matter what I do.[/sp]
[sp]You don’t. Her depression is too much for her, no matter what.[/sp]
am I the only one who kept on reading Natsuki as Nut-sak-i?
also [sp]did anyone catch Sayori appearing in the second act left of the class room cupboard?[/sp]

[sp]How do you do the Sayori route then?[/sp] I feel like I'm getting meme'd here.

Did you read the note @ ending? [sp]There is no happiness to be had[/sp]
[sp]The game doesn't really offer any choices, you will get the two suicides no matter what you do.[/sp]
[sp]Making a specific girl happy thru poem will get them to hang with you on both playthroughs, unlocking different dialouges and prompting different responses.[/sp]
[sp]You can get the completionist ending (which I personally don't consider it "true ending") but getting all the CG by savescumming before Sayori hangs herself[/sp]
Are you following the guide for individual routes? [sp]You got meme'd[/sp]
I really want to love this game, but I hate how its prominent gimmick is so underutilized. [sp]It being having self-aware characters and manipulating "their" files[/sp]
It just feels like there's something more near the horizon but you can't quite make out what it is. It's frustrating.
[sp]But then there's[/sp] this (BIG SPOILERS) [sp]so there might be more Doki Doki stuff coming.[/sp]

[sp]There is no Sayori route, Just Monika[/sp]

@Big post-ending spoilers
Holy shit [sp]talk about a rabbit hole. There's a literal entire ARG underneath this meta-game. Seems like it's ongoing too, interesting considering "Libitina" seems to be a word that keeps cropping up during this arg.[/sp]
[editline]Edited: [/editline]
[sp]Sexual Response Test is bypassed during prepubescence.
Requested bypassing the following tests:
Third Eye Activation Test; Third Eye Suppression Test; Life Threat Response
Test; Life Threat Elimination Test.
All requests denied.
Libitina has not yet recovered from the termination of XXXXXX and is not
expected to do so in the near future. Continuing to administer these tests will
only accelerate the deterioration of Libitina's health.
You are choosing to avoid the measures necessary to prevent a repeat scenario,
Doctor. Will you not have as much faith in your personnel as you do in your God?[/sp]
I wonder if [sp]Libitina[/sp] is actually referring to [sp]the person placed in the role of the Club President.[/sp]
Particularly because [sp]Libitina is a metonym for death and the underworld. And the fact that "repeat scenario" implies there may have been multiple Libitina before this current one.[/sp]
Looks like I know what I'm doing with the rest of my day
:hypeisreal:
Well, I will be damned...
[sp]Its seems we have to do with a SCP after all[/sp]
What if I put all the character files on my phone so they can escape the game and can always feel like they’re with me
That’s a happy ending right
That’s not sad right
:(
[sp]I launch the game and close it so that Monika has to endure the pain and screaming and the feeling of being dead[/sp] :v:
[sp]I launch the game and close it so that Monika has to endure the pain and screaming and the feeling of being dead[/sp] :v:
[sp]Base the recent secret informations we have, Monika probably is somekind of God-like Entity.
So........prepair for more pain I guess. Pain for you [us] I mean.[/sp]
Imagine if they automatically update Doki Doki on Steam without announcing it and people just suddenly stumble on more later on or something. That'd be neat.
Wait, so I read this in the [sp]mystery site about Project Libitina:[/sp]
[sp]"The following occasional behaviors have been noted and should be ignored in
future examinations:
Twitching; vocal tics; biting; epiphora; vomiting; screaming; harm to examiner;
harm to self; misplaced laughter
Any self-harm attempts must be interrupted immediately."[/sp]
So please explain to me:
[sp]How is possible the examiners ignore the "harm to self" factor, but NOT the self-harm attempts? Is there something I miss?[/sp]

It may be a weird semantics issue. [sp]harm to self being akin to "oneself" rather than subject's self[/sp]. It's possible the [sp]examiners and researchers are completely separate people. Similar to how SCP uses Class D personnel.[/sp]
So.......
[sp]I name my character Monika. So far is so cruel seeing Sayori Calling me Monika.
I wonder what will happen if I meet Monika.[/sp]
[sp]*Meet Monika*
Monika: It's great to see you again Monika[/sp]
Oh GOD!!! I feel SO BAD!!!!
Just finished it, felt a longing afterwards that I only get when I grow really attached to characters.
I don't feel bad, I deal with these kinds of people in real life. But I seriously want to get into Visual Novels now, I had never tried it before.

If you want some real character attachment I'd recommend the Muv-Luv series. It's (imo) the best Visual Novel series there is. The first game is very Slice-of-Life akin to how (doki-doki spoilers) [sp]Doki Doki starts out[/sp] but the game changes in a dramatic way once you get to Muv-Luv Extra and then Muv-Luv alternative.

Thanks, but I'm not a fan of the artstyle.
Lads I think I'm in love with Monika
I'm actually a little saddened that I still couldn't get into visual novels despite me knowing there are some with great stories out there.
Just not a fan of reading dialogues for hours straight. If I wanted that I'd read a book, which is often more descriptive and leaves more to imagination.

I've always really liked Yuri even after [sp]she started being incredibly creepy, I just want to cuddle her and tell her everything is alright, we can stay together :')[/sp]

If you liked Doki Doki I would recommend [sp]Kimi to Kanojo to Kanojo no Koi.[/sp] It’s very similar.

Not really looking for similar visual novels, just any good visual novel at all. DDLC is the first one I've ever played.
[editline]25th October 2017[/editline]
BTW any way to keep DDLC in the Steam library? It disappears when I uninstall it since it's free, but I want to keep it to remember it.

The only way to keep it in your library is to purchase the fan pack.

Honestly deserves it so I'm going to.

If it hadn't been free I would have never tried it.

Obvious suggestions are gonna be the Sci;Adv series (Steins;Gate, Chaos;Head, Steins;Gate 0, the incoming Chaos;Child) all fall under psychological in varying degrees, Steins;Gate being the healthiest balance of psychological and thriller with a little bit of humor/etc. and putting Chaos;Head/Child on the other side where they get really into it.
Fate series is also a nice recommendation, 3 very long and thorough routes hinged on a pretty interesting plot. I'm not a big VN guy myself, but these are the best I can give you
Back on topic, me and 2 friends went through DDLC in one sitting this past weekend rolling into [sp]the ending where Monika deletes everything, we were trying to go for Yuri thinking it was a dating sim that was *kinda* weird and nothing more. We were very wrong and are reaping the consequences mentally[/sp]

I also recommend Katawa Shoujo, it was my first VN. It’s free and a good time. There’s a visual novel thread somewhere in the GGD that has a good list of VNs to check out.

If you want to try a small VN for start, then I highly suggest "Saya no Uta". Saya no Uta fall to Horror Category and it have some Hentai scenes, but its real power it is in the Horror aspect.
Also Ever17......not gonna say anything at all. Just try it.

Did you [sp]accept Yuri's confession[/sp]? :v:
