Does it really matter if they make their own assets or just buy them off an asset store?
Well, if I buy a game, I usually buy it with the thought that all of it is original work that I'm paying for. As a placeholder, I don't mind, it makes sense. Not really with a full product so I genuinely hope they fix that with time.
Never played this game before, but wasn't there another aimilar game which came first? What happened to it?

Tried replaying after a couple of months, but for some reason the game itself keeps freezing, FPS has tanked, and the building LOD's never load in. I've tried re-installing but it's done nothing. I could run this on full before with no problem so I have no idea whats making it run like ass now.

Basically every game these days uses stock audio assets for gunshots/explosions/fire/general environmental effects. Then there's the fact that most people don't develop their own engine and instead use someone elses. It just seems like a kind of arbitrary point to draw the line.

At the end of the day, the game needs assets, among many other things, and they can either spend the time, money and manpower to make it themselves in-house, or outsource it to someone and probably save money that way.

Tons of games get 3D models, textures and more from outside sources. Everything isn't made in-house, it can't be for most large-scale games these days.
Have we gone onto a discussion about implementing tracers/incendiary/adding other types of munitions in this game? I feel that would be another fun factor or a way to deal with those who have different sets of armor on. Incendiary could damage vehicles more and create tracers whereas FMJ could do more damage to vests.
If you mean H1Z1/King of the Kill, it faded into obscurity.
Not this one. I think it was in Early Access and had a man with monahawk hair to its store page picture
Not this one. I think it was in Early Access and had a man with monahawk hair to its store page picture
Oh, The Culling or whatever. Faded into obscurity as well I suppose.
If you mean H1Z1/King of the Kill, it faded into obscurity.
Did it really though? It's still the 4th top game on Steam right now with 75k players.
Oh, The Culling or whatever. Faded into obscurity as well I suppose.
Yep, that the one. I remember it had a big following. I wonder if it is active. Nope, is nearly dead it seems and most people say to unpatched like it was before 6th of June.

Buying models is totally legit, and if it makes turnout time faster and game dev. costs more accessible for people to experiment with then I'd say to hell with original content. Just please don't use autolod, it's ugly as fuck.
Eh, I guess it doesn't matter too much. In the end, I just really want the game to not run like complete shit all the time which I don't think is something you can buy off of an asset store.

[t]https://i.imgur.com/U7WbFU1.jpg[/t] Woop! Best game I've had so far, I'll be even lucky to kill 3 guys normally, let alone 10 (2 of which were car kills :excited:)

I do wish the lobby time was narrowed to 30 seconds. Takes ages to get into a new game when you're a bit constrained on time..
I do wish the lobby time was narrowed to 30 seconds. Sometimes the server is dumb and decides to load me in when I'm on the plane. It's there just so everyone else can load in at a reasonable time.
Not everyone has an SSD
It's the most significant performance upgrade your computer can get in one item so they should, it's cost effective.
I havent installed any games on my SSD before, still running them off a 5400rpm hard drive, but I have no loading issues or long wait times.
I havent installed any games on my SSD before, still running them off a 5400rpm hard drive, but I have no loading issues or long wait times.
What do you use your ssd for then?
I havent installed any games on my SSD before, still running them off a 5400rpm hard drive, but I have no loading issues or long wait times.
Switch a few that have frequent loading, and you'll see the bonus.
5400rpm is hell especially on a laptop
Holy fuck im so sick of buildings not loading at the start. I cant go to any towns because i cant get a gun. One game i chanced it and went into a warehouse and it loaded a minute later with me stuck in a pile of boxes
Not everyone has an SSD, go grab a drink in the meantime or something
For something that can be purchased for less than $90 there's no reason people shouldn't have one. I agree the loading times should be 30 seconds
For something that can be purchased for less than $90 there's no reason people shouldn't have one.
I ain't no fortunate son.
