I don't follow this game but there was a huge influx of negative steam reviews around october 1st. What happened?

The title screen is just a public webpage, and that got hijacked at some point and started showing ads. It got fixed shortly afterwards.
You also got some people claiming they got banned for stream sniping when they never got banned at all.
Last night in some of my squad games we came across a few of the 'less obvious suspects' who were a little too good for their own good.
Then one joins [I]OUR[/I] team, running in a straight line to people headshotting 9 with a scopeless akm in auto fire and 1 with a p92 from 300 meters - That being the more obvious.
So all of this being recorded, where would I even send it to get this fellow to (at the very least) have to buy a new copy of PUBG?
Also what the hell, did someone release a cheap hack and made it public or something? The last few days it feels like every 4 or so games someone is cheating.

There are loads of cheats for pubg.
I've only played against one person who I was convinced was cheating (eu/na duo/squad), but I expect it to get much worse.

I was under the impression that (at least so far) they were private and had a restrictive cost to prevent detection.
The suspects are random chinese players that can barely string a sentence together, queuing squad in the US servers.
From my experience, you could hear 20 people playing on the background of what was clearly a cafe.
I don't think if you have 600 euros to pay for battleeye hacks you'd be playing from a cafe.
So there's gotta be some cheap shit getting around lately, even if its unsafe and they get banned it makes it common enough to where games aren't enjoyable and it undermines trust in legit players.
I don't want PUBG to become CS. =(
the purest sensation is when you get ambushed by two people in a squad match and you have nothing to lose so you rush them with a grenade and they don't realize shit so when they try to loot you now you have 2 free kills
Got down to being one of the last three today for the first time. Died to the zone of course, a waist high fence killed me.
I was hanging out waiting for the circle to shrink in one of the shitty shacks near mansion and I turn around to see a guy creeping on me through the window which scared the everliving crap out of me
Brief exchange of fire and I win, but for how fucking long did he stand there
I got my first solo care package today and having all level 3 gear, an AWM with 8x scope, suppressor and cheek pad and a fully kitted M4 got to my head
Less than a minute later, I get wrecked by a proning guy in the woods with an UMP because I forgot to look down :v:
This game is amazing

With a bare scar and about a magazine of ammunition I managed to gun down two guys on some stairs in a squad game the other day. When I check them I discover they where fully decked out, level 3 body armor, backpacks,helmets, faceplates, Rugers and akms with scopes and silencers. I loaded up on everything I could take and about three minutes latter got killed without even firing a shot.

It's psychologically true!
Having the best equipment undermines your judgement in three ways:
One, it gives you the impression of an advantage far higher than what it actually represents.
Two, this advantage is transferable, so you're terrified of losing your shit to someone that might use it to win.
Three, with 1 and 2 in mind in order to win you must control your fights, compelling you to 'play safe'.
Now, PUBG is notorious for taking control away from you, like a flaming UAZ may fall on your head at any point.
So playing safe can be translated to 'avoid confrontation until the later stages' a mindset that will discourage you from clearing an area (you would have otherwise) to minimize risk of exposure.... and you end up getting UMPd by someone crouching in a bush.
Grrr. Just had a chicken dinner in the bag, and got fucked over by a glitched spot at the Farm. Couldn't believe it... Fog map, suppressed AKM and suppressed Mini14 with attachments, ahead of the zone the entire round and had everyone left in my sights, down to the top 8. Tried to jump behind a box and just... got stuck. In the air. In the middle of a little courtyard with high windows and 3 entrances all around.
And the circle closed in 3 times DIRECTLY ON ME. I would have had it, it was so perfect. And the other players were just fucking up their approaches big time. But in the end the guy I had been watching in the high window finally saw me after 2 minutes and took me out, nothing I could do. Couldn't even aim down the sights 90% of the time because the collision box of the crap I was stuck in prevented it.
Hate that shit... wish the game had some way of freeing you from that sort of thing, but I guess that's a pretty complicated thing to implement.

I got stuck on the magic hole in the shooting range (under the tables over the short range), it was the start of the round (duo) and me and my buddy managed to kill 3 other pairs within first 5 minutes of being on the ground. I wanted to show him the spot and got stuck instead.
How the fuck can anyone tell where they're being shot at from? I keep getting killed because I think I'm being shot at from the front, but it turns out I'm being shot from behind so I die because I can never tell where I'm being shot at. It's the fucking worst and this game could be so much better if you could tell.

It really is gimped in this game, you ideally need an extended mag to make it even viable and full auto is out of the question unless someone is in your face.
But if you're up close with someone with a VSS and you've gotta use it in full auto, you'll likely have a better gun to use instead.
