The Vector as an SMG isn't too bad. I used to have issues with it just not firing for some unknowable reason but an update a while ago fixed that. Weird as fuck bug that one.
Even without an extended mag, 13 rounds is more than enough to tear up a decently armoured player I've found. I've wiped entire squads in face to face firefights with it in the last few weeks fairly consistently. I used to pick the UMP for the more common ammo and larger magazines, but .45 guns in general fucking hurt to get hit with.
At the bare minimum put a quickdraw on the fucking thing though, you'll be reloading a lot after all.
Am I the odd one out who thinks there should be more melee weapons? Guns in a game like this are a core, but for the life of me I will only give this a try if this game can let me live my weeb fantasy.

I'd like a 'power attack' button where you instantly attack for half of your breath meter.
If no melee weapon in hand, then with the butt of your firearm.
It doesn't matter where you hit, always deals 30% HP with a firearm or 50% with a melee weapon.
That's pretty simple, it doesn't favor any melee weapon over another, and firearms have a CQC component that's balanced around them being able to, well, shoot.
If someone is careless you can gib them in 2 hits, otherwise you're out of breath and can't run and have to resort to using a sluggish normal melee or switch for a pistol.

That could work, with a tiny bit of bleeding continuous damage from longer bladed weapons like a katana or a machete.
It'd be cool if they buffed Crossbows via arrow types, like explosive and/or poison.
Shotgun slugs when.

It would be cool no doubt, but that is a little beyond the run-and-gun thing PUBG has going on. (We already have compromises on the calibers and attachments shared among weapons, arrow types would open a door for ammo conversion and that would mess with the flow)
I think the Crossbow right now is in a good place, I don't think it's seeing much use because it shares a slot with a main weapon which is always a loss, and if it had it's own slot everyone would use it.
Would a crossbow using the handheld slot be a happy medium? Who knows, gotta try to see but I doubt it's on anyone's radar.
After all, passing on guns you see after you have your loadout is part of the games decision making process, and this wouldn't be any different.
I don't know if this player was hacking or not but they were using crossbows and literally sniping my squad in this one game. We eventually killed them later in the game but damn.

Make the pan 30% like a gun butt and you've got a deal.
I feel like the pan should do less damage than other melees because it's more improvised and unwieldy than them and makes up for it with bullet-blocking utility.

Basically nothing, its a near laser to the degree you can hit people perfectly at 400m when zero'd for 200m with no adjustment.

I once got mad because I kept whiffing half my shots on some dude running around at about 800 metres away and I normally can't shoot anything over 10 feet.
It doesn't have drop.
