Maybe when it stops being an obvious cash-in and gets qualified programmers to work on it.
Maybe when it stops being an obvious cash-in and gets qualified programmers to work on it.
An obvious cash-in on what? They're the ones that started the BR craze. You can't be a cash-in on yourself.
Maybe when it stops being an obvious cash-in and gets qualified programmers to work on it.
The qualified programmers part I can get behind. Take the top bar for example, with the heading. When you place a marker, and drive up ahill, you see the heading of the marker change. It's simple vector math to fix that issue, yet they can't get it right.
It just absolutely reeks of babby's first game.
Well it kinda is in a way. PU himself is from a modding background where all the real legwork like bullet sim, networking, etc. has been handled for you. Using an engine that hasn't really been built for high player counts from the get-go and a server infrastructure that has a number of limitations they can't really work around. There's a lot of little bits and pieces that you can pull from asset stores and stuff obviously, but the more unique parts of the game are almost certainly programmed by people of questionable industry experience. I can't think of a single known name other than PU behind this game.

It's not their first game they made, so it's no excuse really...

So I wonder if he's just overly optimistic as to how long it takes to actually get features that he'd have taken for granted from his modding days into the game. Bluehole don't exactly have any real history with shooter-tactics focused games either. Their entire catalogue seems to be MMOs or similar things. So I'd consider this "babbys first game" for them in a way too. With the sheer size of PUBGs player base they should have brought some people more used to real time action games on board by this point I'd hope.
Oh my fucking god the M249's stupid ass delay between its reload animation ending and it letting you shoot got me fucking killed, I can't believe it. Grabbed it out of a crate, started loading immediately, hear a Dacia rock up, finish loading, run around the side to shoot the guy and NOTHING HAPPENED. The game just wouldn't let me fire and he killed me easily. I'm so mad.
The revolver loads 8 bullets in order to shoot 7, the pump shotguns have a reloaded delay as well. -shell, shell, click, 1 second more for no reason, loaded-
vss has that problem as well. I can't stand when games do that. Then there's the game that continues the reload if you back out after say, replacing the magazine. Those are the good games.
The revolver loads 8 bullets in order to shoot 7
You know what the 8th's for. :suicide:
The revolver loads 8 bullets in order to shoot 7
This bugs the fuck out of me to no end.
The shotgun loads 6 but never pumps it when loaded from empty.
The shotgun loads 6 but never pumps it when loaded from empty.
So many deaths due to this. "OH SHIT A MAN" *rak-chunk* *dead*
Anyone else notice the update for the test servers ?
It's always fun when guns glitch on your player model. Now nobody can kill me behind my back. In this same game me and my roommate apparently killed DrDisRespect in front of 30,000 people. Probably the only time I'll get to wear the red hi-top trainers.
Holy fuck i got 736m headshot with an awm last night
Came across a hacker for the first time in a long time today. The guy got me and my mate while we were driving away at reasonable speed. We weren't totally sure as they might have just been a really good shot but we looked up their stats in-game and they are far too good for a human. Also the guy is from China :v:
Havent you heard? China number one
I don't even understand what is going on in that video... It's almost like he's spawning people at his position? But then why are they just running in a dead straight line like a broken bot? Weird. Also, it's open season on suppressors I swear to god. I rant about it after like 2 straight weeks of finding NOTHING, and I cannot go one game now without at least finding 1 AR and SR suppressor. Hell I'm having more trouble now finding sniper rifles, I'm spending entire rounds with suppressors in my backpack just waiting for a KAR or something to drop. :s:
I'll never really understand why people cheat in any game, it literally sucks the fun out of the game. Even for the hacker. The game becomes almost unplayable as the hack pretty much does everything for you so you end up just watching, and then they whine when they get banned. Grow up.
BattleEye is signature-based IIRC and has also been reverse-engineered to death by the hacking community, so it's relatively easy for an experienced programmer to bypass it.
BattlEye used to fucking suck hard (old BE could easily be completely bypassed without even needing references to preexisting work) but from what I hear it's completely different and much better now. EDIT: According to Cra0 they still do signature scans completely clientside so you can dump all of the blacklisted signatures. BattlEye is still a little dumb.
I'll never really understand why people cheat in any game, it literally sucks the fun out of the game.
There are many single player games where it's actually the opposite, there's a lot of quality of life and open content without restrictions that is just fun, look at GTA V, building in Fallout 4. Etc. Online cheating, however, comes down to - Prestige: Achieve something difficult/exclusive/eccentric you can show off, appear that you're better than you really are, 'have people look up to you'. Trolling: Getting off from someones misfortune and impotence of dealing with near impossible odds. PUBG has no sort of prestige system, you don't care who killed you, it doesn't mark who you killed, win or lose you have to restart every game. There are no portraits, titles, skins, everyone is vanilla. And as far as trolling, there is 100 different people out of which 99/98/96 will always die anyway, many times unpredictably to game glitches many times more infuriating than a hacker getting you quick and dirty. The whole game revolves around dying. So I really don't get PUBG cheating, you're literally doing nothing or the bare minimum possible to upset someone. And seen from the hacker's PoV it's got to be the most vapid thing ever, how many games can you go like that and do the same thing without killing yourself, 4-5?
I usually just laugh, anyone who has to pay a sub to be somewhat decent in a game is hilarious to me. In APB:R it has a hacking problem and a lot of the big names got busted by anti-cheat engine and FF for hacking, and even then these big names were not that good. A organized group of players could win. I'll never forget the day that APB got FF implemented, all these big names that had the most impeccable aiming and x-ray vision were playing like utter garbage. Who would of thought that garbage people do garbage things

The last few nights there has been some really weird shit going on with the audio in this game... phantom sounds, completely inaccurate sound positioning. It's driving me nuts. Just tonight I had a fantastic round going and it was down to one of the final circles. I killed a guy hiding behind a tree, and someone maybe 15m away to the right was shooting at at me with a suppressed SCAR (didn't see him but worked it out rough in my head in those few milliseconds from the sound and the hits to my pan). Thing is, this guy started throwing grenades at me and then healing, but I was hearing all of this coming from pretty much spot-on on the body of the guy I had just killed before. In the heat of the moment it totally fucked with my focus and had me darting my view back and forth and moving around the tree in such a way that I was completely exposed (and subsequently killed). Even after I died I heard this other guy's sounds coming from roughly the same spot in front of me... This has happened a few times. I also get phantom 'standing up' rustle sound effects when I'm running through open fields, and it really freaks me out. This has all only started in the last week or so. Am I going insane?!
That was a fun round. He lagged out way early on and spent 5 minutes trying to catch up after getting stuck out of zone.
Window bars are fucking evil and needs to be removed from the game.
Window bars are fucking evil and needs to be removed from the game.
I'd much prefer proper bullet penetration to get rid of invisible/pointless force fields. But I'd settle for being able to break the lesser objects that get in your way like window bars and wooden boards.

I also hope the new map wont suffer from the lazy and rushed building placement which results in shit floating.
