Maint time pushed earlier, guess they decided they did need more time. Gonna still be delayed though. :v:
Watching my own replays make it seem like I have a healthy mix of parkinsons and aimbot. Wouldn't be too bad if shadowplay didn't randomly stop working in PUBG.
11pm Pacific? I mean, I guess its technically still the 20th in some parts of the world.
9gb patch for the Test servers. 5gb of space left on my SSD. Uuuuuuuuuugh, I hate this shitty game.
it tickles my funny bone that their long-awaited December 20th "release" is putting the servers down for 7+ hours starting on the last hour of the 20th on one of the latest timezones in a world. I somehow get the feeling we'll be seeing an "emergency patch" soon.
Playerunknown himself is on the H3H3 podcast right now btw. https://www.twitch.tv/h3h3productions
Gonna be honest, got really excited to get up today and play some PUBG 1.0. After all, release is on the 20th, yeah? Oh. 11 PM. PST. I mean, I guess it's not techinically wrong, it's just not right. Seems kind of misleading to say that it's releasing on the 20th when that's the case for what, California, western Canada, Alaska, and Hawaii? I feel like I'm picking at straws here, just got kind of disappointed is all.
It seems the live and test servers are offline right now until 1.0 release
Yep, its 7am tomorrow for me. And don't kid yourself, the rubberbanding is due to server stress, AWS isn't designed for the workload they're putting on it. You can instantly tell this when you swap to a quieter region and its instantly perfectly fine, NA and EU rubberbanding like fuck? Swap to Asia and its butter smooth even though 250ms~ Ain't nothing they can do about it other than shell out for more resources on AWS. [editline].[/editline] Oh hang on a minute, they jumped ship on AWS a few months ago, its on Azure now, well same shit applies, they need to shell out for more resources.
Servers also run at 45hz tick too, which is pretty bad for shooters.
So PUBG's pre-loading has been going on since the update for 1.0 released. Uhhh. That's been a good couple hours.. to be perfectly fair to the developers, the move is clearly calculated to reduce the initial load on their servers. we all work for a living. if avoiding a press nightmare and humiliation means waiting six hours or a day i can live with that as a consumer or whatever.
holy fuck [t]https://tenryuu.blob.core.windows.net/astrid/2017/12/17-12-21_15-39-12-Steam_Game_and_Player_Statistics_-_Waterfox.png[/t]
20 terabytes per second! that's fucking insane
As we announced earlier, we are considering limiting maximum ping depending on user network status in order to establish a smooth gameplay environment and enhance server stability. Before applying the measure to all regions, we will need to fully investigate its feasibility and analyze the outcome, so we will be running a limited test. After implementation, players with a high ping difference from average ping range for the region or players connecting over long distance will not be able to connect to a match. As a result, only players in a certain ping range would be able to enjoy the game together in the same server which leads to a more stable and smooth environment. We will keep you updated on our progress as we continue looking into this method and analyzing our results. Otherwise it's a terrible idea.

I'm just saying that the way they went about announcing the release date was misleading, advertising the launch as the 20th. If they'd announced it as the 21st at 4 PM Korean Standard Time (where Bluehole operates), I wouldn't have any problems with it. Instead, they chose to announce it as the 20th* (at 11 PM PST)
Players, we have to extend the maintenance period by 1 hour due to a technical difficulty. Please accept our sincere apologies. We know how much you've been waiting for 1.0 and we are doing our best to resolve the issue as soon as possible.
Mhm, just keep going until everyone's asleep or loses interest, that's your technical difficulty.
Downtime extended by one hour [editline]20th December 2017[/editline]
Mhm, just keep going until everyone's asleep.
Ninja'd

[del]There's two ways they could go about the ping range idea in my mind: A.) They'll fuck it up and have it apply to everyone, squad or not or B.) They'll have it ignore squads and life is great for everyone It's a solid idea if they go for B, I think.[/del] [editline]a[/editline] Unless I'm misunderstanding what they mean, which seems to be a possibility re-reading it. [editline]a[/editline] No wait this is a terrible idea stop

[editline]a[/editline] No wait this is a terrible idea stop
Nah its a straight up ping lock, I'm just hoping its around 270ms so that at least our group can still all play on NA as it makes a nice middle ground, but I got a feeling they want to just outright lock people to their own regions and kill off cross region play. Which is fucking retarded, EU is hell to play on at times because the servers get absolutely hammered due to how big of a region it covers. We can still be rubberbanding far past peak times due to the load still being excessively high. [editline]21st December 2017[/editline] I honestly don't see a point to doing it, haven't experienced a time where latency actually gave an advantage due to how the netcode works, player positions are pretty accurate to say even though it runs off a dynamic update rate. This decision is just retarded.
hehe i guess you cant play with your close friend that moved to america last year now :))) - brendan green
I think rainbow 6s capped theirs at 460ms
"out of early access btw" https://streamable.com/3365e and i now hit a damn metal fence with a bike and glitched out
Players, we would like to briefly talk about changes made to a current crate key to avoid any confusion. The crate key you may know by the name of Gamescom Invitational Key has changed it's name. This doesn't meant that it is no longer available, in fact soon it will be more widely used than before. The purpose of the change is to accommodate an introduction of a new crate that will also accept the very same key. In view of the above, purchasing the keys has been suspended temporarily to to allow us to implement all the required changes. We hope for your understanding. You will be able to buy the keys again within a week's time. We hope that you will enjoy the new cosmetic content. We will update you as soon as we have more to share. See you in-game, The PUBG Development and Community Team
http://steamcommunity.com/games/578080/announcements/detail/1576688908115082828 Lmao they're not gonna be exclusive limited time items anymore.
