I was bored and annoyed at PUBG yesterday so I decided to report and fix a bug that is been annoying me for ages. All they need to do is translate the JavaScript to whatever language they're using... https://www.reddit.com/r/PUBATTLEGROUNDS/comments/82t6c7/pubg_circle_indicator_the_right_way/ Anyone else noticed this behavior? It happens with the dotted line that shows when you're outside of the circle (sometimes also shows when you're already inside the circle) and the compass (compass moves even if you drive in a straight line with height differences). Since these things mostly occur on hills and what not, I think that the PUBG devs use 3D vector math instead of the coordinates of players plotted on a 2D plane, so that someone who is higher than the center of the circle has a longer distance (Pythagoras theorem)
If someone jump from a moving buggy and instantly snap to me with a RDS from 100m is it fair to assume that he's cheating? :v: I'm new to PUBG cos I've held on from jumping on the train since DayZ is still pretty fresh from memory and I only got peer pressured into it after some irl friends picked it up The gunplay learning curve is a bit frustrating with the floaty Unreal engine/ARMA feeling, do I have to account for bullet drop around 50m~60m engagement if I'm shooting 5.56 through a suppressor? Lost a round where my friend and I were really stacked against another duo but we wasted like 3-4 magazine trying to hit them from another hill on the desert map and we ended up getting eliminated instead even though we've managed to ko them a couple of time
All guns (not including shotguns) hit dead center of the sight at 100m with the default zeroing (can be changed in 100m increments). at 200m the pull up is still fairly minimal. Make sure to use the mini map to get a rough idea of the distance (each small box is 100mx100m)
Smaller map hell yeah
4x4 map and another 8x8 map planned, interesting. Couldn't give a damn about the emote system but at least they've finally realized custom games is a thing.
snip i was late
Honestly I'm pretty excited to see how the new maps pan out. Rest of the road map is looking pretty interesting too (barring the esports garbage naturally)
The 4x4 map looks beautiful, looks a bit like... Thailand? Really keen to try that out, do we know if it will still have 100 players dropping on it?
Yes, they will still have 100 players on them.
Might actually be able to shoot my gun at something in the first 20 minutes of a game in that map!
If someone jump from a moving buggy and instantly snap to me with a RDS from 100m is it fair to assume that he's cheating? :v:
people are really good at aiming in this game. theres no ranked matchmaking so odds are a lot of the games you are put in are with people who are at the top of the leaderboards. also snapping onto someone with the red dot or holo at 100m isn't very suspicious unless they appeared to have no recoil or their aim tracked your head. it is super annoying that they have no way to practice with the guns. there used to be guns in the pregame lobby for erangle. would be really nice if they had a small practice dm mode on a 1.5x1.5km map where you spawned in with random gear after each death so you get a feel for the ballistics of each weapon and ammo type. i know thats not the point of pubg but theres no way to practice shooting except for dropping hot spots and dying over and over again, waiting 5 mins to get into another game and repeating. or you know they could just put guns in the pregame lobby. [editline]9th March 2018[/editline] also the roadmap page has its images uploaded to imgur and they are all broken now lol
I can see them adding the third map and still not having map selection...
It's weird how I went from liking Mirage to pretty much despising it due to how big and boring it is. Also Erangel is nicer to look at.
It's weird how I went from liking Mirage to pretty much despising it due to how big and boring it is. Hate Erangel, not enough buildings and stuff to stumble over, while Miramar is packed with random buildings and unmarked settlements, it makes the walking simulator less dragging which I feel a lot on Erangel.
My main gripe with Miramar is that there aren't many medium sized places. It always seems like you're going to drop at some tiny dinky place with nothing in it or you're going to a city with a bunch of other bozos.

Worst of all, the plane path can very easily go only over 2 cities and nothing around or in between. And this seems to be happen too many times lately. [editline]9th March 2018[/editline] Also can we talk about the stupid fucking fact that UE4 by default doesn't seem to be able to recognize foreign characters at all so if I press +(1), ě(2), š(3), it won't switch my weapons. And I can't even bind that or anything else to these characters specifically. Same thing with Fortnite PvE super long time ago which is why I'm suspsecting UE4 instead of just PUBG. And the best guess for that I can make is that UE4 reads your software inputs instead of hardware inputs. Either way, that is such a dumb fucking issue, 10 years of playing videogames and this is first time I ever encountered something like this. And the only way I can bypass this by setting my keyboard layout to US one.
It's weird how I went from liking Mirage to pretty much despising it due to how big and boring it is. Also Erangel is nicer to look at.
why do you call it Mirage?
emotes, what a waste of dev time. gotta compete with fortnite right? it'll probably introduce some sort of invincibility bug or something stupid which will take 2 weeks to fix. the rest sounds good though.
why do you call it Mirage?
Mirage is a CS:GO map which is dusty so similarity, I like the name and Miramaar or whatever it's called sounds dumb.
Mirage is a CS:GO map which is dusty so similarity, I like the name and Miramaar or whatever it's called sounds dumb.
Well it's still not what it's called. Just because you want to call it that doesn't mean it's called that.
Well it's still not what it's called. Just because you want to call it that doesn't mean it's called that.
Cool, I'm still gonna call it that. [editline]9th March 2018[/editline] Also I know it's most likely just a really quick mock up (I hope at least) but by god, the stiffness of this reminds me of that laughing animation in Skyrim.
Mirage is a CS:GO map which is dusty so similarity, I like the name and Miramaar or whatever it's called sounds dumb.
Well, if it means anything, it is a pre-existing name for cities in California & Florida, which take after the Miramar district of Havana. I think it's pretty nice when you consider its meaning. It's a Spanish name, made out of a phrase that would mean, "Look at the sea!" A very Anglicized translation might be, "Oceanview."

It's the dumbest shit, but it worked.
Well it's still not what it's called.
I call it Mirage too, problim?
Something I've bitched about since fuckin' launch of alpha, 4X4 MAPS AAAAAAAA :v:
Is the emote wheel an Unreal Engine thing? You got something like that in Fortnite and something that looks exactly like that in Friday The 13th.
coming soon to pubg: https://skin-tracker.com/pubg/datamining/ ugly weapon skins
