Except vorcha. Vorcha take the whole "all members of this race are evil AND they're all ugly and evil looking" thing and run with it. Fuck vorcha
Vorcha aren't all evil though (like the one in ME3), they're just dumb and they like violence so most of them turn to crime. Reinforced by the fact that other species criminals see them as good cannon fodder.
I dunno they just give me power rangers villain vibes, I never liked them
I really love Mass Effect's aliens. When the game was new, it trounced a lot of sci fi norms/tropes about aliens. They're well designed. It's too early in the morning to summarize my thoughts neatly but I like that there are stereotypes about the races but individuals frequently break them, whereas in a lot of sci fi media (Star Wars, Star Trek to name two obvious ones) aliens of a particular race are generally all bound to the same culture and thought process. Except vorcha. Vorcha take the whole "all members of this race are evil AND they're all ugly and evil looking" thing and run with it. Fuck vorcha
Except the two smart vorcha in three, one of whom is apparently smarter than Shepard. [editline]10th May 2017[/editline] Patch deployed.
Not sure if anyone else here have seen this yet but one of the concept artists at Bioware uploaded some Andromeda artwork of stuff that never made it into the game. In this case it's kids, something he thought would've encouraged the player etc. [t]https://cdnb.artstation.com/p/assets/images/images/005/507/923/large/ben-lo-mec-week05-char.jpg?1491535955[/t] Source
Why does it seem like they spent an infinitely higher time designing stuff and then went with none of it for the actual game.

In addition to enhanced performance and stability, we addressed a number of player-reported issues, including a bug that caused SAM to repeatedly tell Ryder they had received new email. ...They weren't joking about the game basically becoming Early access, there are a bunch of huge improvements, including not locking out new dialogue if something updates. Also basically everything in MP got massively buffed.
Why does it seem like they spent an infinitely higher time designing stuff and then went with none of it for the actual game.
Concepters and raw mechanic designers get paid more than most everyone on a AAA team, and that's because they need to lay out things in very very concrete manner and incredibly clean workup and be able to provide as much information as a Lead or Producer needs to make a thing in the game. It's a close as you're going get to "ideas guy" outside of the top management, so we tend to be overqualified in areas outside of platform specific code or throughput.
The new casual outfit from the Deluxe Edition: [t]https://i.redd.it/a8bvrgp44pwy.png[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/uESrpRE.jpg[/t]
that's the most modern hipster outfit i've ever seen in a game if you ever had doubts about the artistic influences of this game...
oh shit blasto merch he's my favourite hanar
I see now that the Andromeda Initiative was partially funded by galaxy-wide headphones sales.
http://www.pcgamer.com/report-mass-effect-on-hiatus-bioware-montreal-transitioning-to-a-support-studio

Electronic Arts CEO Andrew Wilson expressed confidence in BioWare during an earnings call yesterday, and said that the decision to push back its new, as-yet-unannounced project into the next fiscal year was not a reflection of the relatively cool response to Mass Effect: Andromeda. To be clear, this does not mean layoffs, but rather a reallocation of resources. EA Motive is working on Star Wars Battlefront 2, obviously a major project, while BioWare Montreal's reduced responsibilities—Kotaku said it will "help support" the development of games at other EA studios, including the big mystery game at BioWare Edmonton, and also continue to patch and support Mass Effect: Andromeda—means that it simply doesn't need as many staffers as it did when it was making its own triple-A game.
WELL THERE GOES THE SERIES (hopefully not)
It's not dead, but you won't be seeing another ME title unless an outside dev gives them the mother of all pitches for at least 6-10 years.
I'm fine with the Blasto logo, but Christ on a cross it looks so dumb
Needs to remove the bra on the female then it's fine, SIDE BOOB PLS
I may have been off a month, But Andromeda has already dropped in price http://www.origin.com/aus/en-us/store/mass-effect/mass-effect-andromeda/standard-edition

Thanks EA!
Wow, it's now the same price digital as it was physical on release in the UK. Thanks EA!
Yeah i noticed the same for the Australian price of the standard edition, although it's $10 cheaper compared to the physical version you could buy at JB-HI-FI. or $40 cheaper compared to Eb Games, which is an absolute joke.
Does this EA thing (MEA studio changing into a "support" studio) mean that we wont be getting any DLCs for Andro? I was really waiting for the quarian ark DLC
Are they taking the fucking piss? A month after release and they drop the price down by like 25%, get the fuck out, with that price drop I could've bought the Deluxe Edition aswell and still got it for cheaper than on launch. Fuck off EA.
I honestly regret buying Andromeda.
As a fan of all the previous ME games, is ME:A worth it when 33% off? Haven't bought it yet because of the initial poor reception. Has the patches made any difference?
I honestly don't know what you guys thought was going to happen. It's not like the publisher was going to handle the development team some flowers and a box of chocolate for a job well done. I'm only sorry for the people who went through the whole [sp]sequel hooks and foreshadowing-ridden[/sp] main plot only to discover that said elements will most likely never be addressed in the near future, either by DLCs or a new game
If we don't even get any dlc content, I think I'm done with bioware.
If we don't even get any dlc content, I think I'm done with bioware.
As much as I want to say the same about Andromeda overall, it wouldn't really make sense. A lot of things can change and no studio should be "blacklisted" as never being able to make a good game. It's just that my expectations out of BioWare are so low that I can't really be bothered to give a shit about their new stuff anymore.
Does this EA thing (MEA studio changing into a "support" studio) mean that we wont be getting any DLCs for Andro? I was really waiting for the quarian ark DLC
Depends if they were done or not. If they were mostly done, it will release, if they were depending on after market revenue, you can kiss that shit goodbye, because EA has told them to finish and package what they have now pronto so they can move people elsewhere. Also, that last sentence actually happened two weeks after release and unlike 3, MP is not even kind of raking in money cause they managed to fuck that from hell to breakfast as well, and the patch is way too little, way too late.
I am extremely disappointed. The game wasn't the best of the series, clearly, but it didn't deserve a majority of the flack it received. Most people I know who disliked the game never even tried it. For EA to push the entire franchise to the side is soul crushing. It's one of my favorite universes - in any media. They are throwing away so much potential, and the game wasn't even bad. It had a lot going for it, and they could have fixed a lot of the issues in DLC and a sequel, especially with the tone and missed features.
RIP in RIP the OP. I dont have the new header due to me being a idiot.
