Well, I know this is a seriously flawed game. I only mentioned that I can't help but felt that it was brought down even lower by having the flaws widely made fun of, followed by aggressive bashing. I didn't say people aren't allowed to criticize the game, but surrounded by people who couldn't give the game ANY credit definitely doesn't help. I took a chance with the game even after hearing all the bads about it. I think it is a very mediocre game, I wouldn't even recommend it to anyone who doesn't strictly like games that fit the Mass Effect description. A lot of glaring weaknesses, but I wouldn't say they did everything wrong, which really felt like what many is saying.
Man fuck EA.
To say there was no bandwagon hate against the game is an outright lie on your part 27X. You should know it was real since you were the fucking driver. For a literal month after the game came out I saw nothing but people posting the same 4-5 clips of buggy animations acting as though the entire game was objectively broken, and any effort to show that the game wasn't the worst thing ever was met by vitriol and cries of "look at the fanboy defending his terrible game. I don't even need to play the game to know it's the worst thing ever."
I didn't like Andromeda much, but acting like there wasn't a bandwagon against is it so fucking stupid.
Lol, I've said time again in every thread where my reaction was :why:, my opinion is my own. I'm a grown ass man have then have now will to continue to have ever be responsible for MY OPINION. Mine. If you seriously think people "jumping on my side" on shit like DoW3, A:CM FO4 are some kind engineered drives, you have way too much free time, speaking of which: This game is bad. That's it. Anytime anyone asked a year ago, I said why plain and blunt, should they ask ten years from now the answer will be the same. I don't give a shit about expectations, realistic or otherwise. I work in the very industry where marketing is allowed to stretch those expectations as far as they will go, to the point of absolute unreality.(Bethesda, Ubisoft) I also don't give a shit about buyer's remorse, because I'm abjectly unconcerned with price, in a market where you can actively and openly choose early and expensive or late and cheap. Time is another matter entirely. The older and more responsible you get, the more precious time gets, and this game wastes that time in far far more than "just a few" areas, and there's no reason for it to. None. If you choose to continue to waste your time, knock yourself out, but don't expect me to hand out hugs for it. Quite the opposite. As far as bitching goes, it's because I give a damn, when I stop bitching it's because I no longer choose to waste time or money or energy on a particular endeavor.
What are you even doing, man?
What are you even doing, man?
He's just having a "grown ass man" tantrum.
What are you even doing, man?
Hitting enter after every line :why: [editline]a[/editline] Also missing the point of the argument.
Ok, no, her 'girly' voice was a problem because it was actually missing the fucking voice modulation that Krogan are supposed to have. In fact, most of the Krogan are missing this and it's just sheer laziness.
There absolutely was a bandwagon against this game.
No. Before the release proper of Andromeda basically the entire gaming press was showering the game with praise and high hopes, since nowadays whenever a developer plays the "bigger, deeper open world game" card everyone seems to fall for it almost immediately. Everyone who expressed even the lightest amount of scepticism was simply labelled as a "hater still butthurt about the Mass Effect 3 ending". Come however the first proper footage and the trial version of the game and everyone started to notice the various issues attached, and the tune swiftly changed accordingly. In part because you can try to embellish a certain questionable game to your audience as much as you like, but you can't do miracles: if I'm walking down the street and see a shit, I'll call it a shit or a piece of poo, I'll never regard it as chocolate, for instance. In part because, let's not kid ourselves, today's gaming press has become increasingly conformist: the important thing is no longer express fair and as-objective-as-possible opinions on videogame, but simply cater to the audience's latest whim and get easy views and recognition. Before the release, everyone wanted to be optmistic about Andromeda: post-release, everyone wanted to exaggerate the glaring (and completely objective) issues to oblivion. Hence the swift in judgment from the gaming press. [editline]Today[/editline] The point I'm trying to make is that the backlash against Andromeda was and is not a bandwagon, because the issues of the game are real and should be threated extremely seriously. It's just that the press performed such a sudden U-turn about it that you may as well think everyone has started to hate on the game for no reason at all
Honestly, the biggest problem I had with the game was the multiplayer lootbox bullshit. Fuck micro transactions in full-price releases, and double fuck the publisher/dev if they decide to turn gameplay into a boring grind designed to wear you down so you spend real money. I got the game way after it came out so obviously I missed the bad launch, but the single player aspect seemed fine to me?. From it's reputation alone I went in expecting "so bad it's good" but all I really got was "pretty good". The animations weren't great but Ive played all of bioware's games so I'm used to that by now. For the most part they were just the same old assets bioware always uses and while I would be the first to say that's fucking lazy, it's never been a huge problem for me. The characters were likeable (especially Drack and Vetra) , the story was engaging enough, I liked the antagonists [sp]once I got over how fucking goofy their leader looked, got a little deeper into their motivations, and discovered some of the cooler looking variants of their "race"[/sp] I also personally preferred the gameplay to that of the rest of the series. Honestly my biggest issues with the single player aspect were: Being limited to 3 powers at a time was shit. The roleplay was pretty fucking limited- even with Shepard you had more control over the set characters personality due to the Paragon/Renegade choices and ranking. The worst bug I encountered was my characters head turning backwards once when talking to SAM, and that was fucking hilarious. Idk I hate games being released in messy states as much as anyone, but I don't really think having a bad launch warrants completely canning the entire game and all future DLC and instalments (but that's EA for you)
What are some recommended mods for ME2? Realised my laptop can actually play it pretty well, so was gonna replay it while away from home. Already grabbed ME2Recalibrated, No Mini Games, and 4x Faster Loading screens.
You could get the ALOT texture mod, it improves many of the textures by using higher resolution versions. However since you've mentioned you're using a laptop, it might slow down performance as it does use 2k and 4k resolution textures.
Jean Luc had an excellent looking hi-res texture mod for the ME2 characters that's worth checking out.
If you're feeling like rebalancing the gunplay, try Hybrid Combat. It replaces the whole heatsink system with a hybrid of ME1 and 2/3's, and also totally rebalances every weapon in the game. Makes repeat playthroughs fresh as fuck.
Sorry if this is the wrong thread, search is a bit borked at the moment and shows a bunch of threads as Hidden. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/527/3a1e4536-a599-452a-82b8-f507ad3eb1fd/Mass Effect Paint Adventure.png Anyways, does anyone know of where I can find an archive of Mass Effect Paint Adventure? I was started here on FP, but the link to the OG thread doesn't work anymore.
