If it rolls a good implicit. 350 Vaal orbs is like what, 10 Ex with Standard rates? A 6S Whispering Ice with a nice corrupt implicit will go for way, way, way more.
I guess it's a Standard league thing. Can't see that card being very popular in temp leagues, it'd take forever to buy 350 vaal orbs :v:

Started a Fakener build (cyclone cast on crit discharge), I'm up to the end of Act 4 Cruel so far. It clears amazingly so far but it's gonna take me like an hour (and like 50 deaths) to kill Malachai...
well isn't a 5 slot equivalent to a 6 link due to the built-in? 5 slots is only 70 orbs and 4 slots (10 orbs) is probably serviceable with a good implicit

Which is exactly the reason why people trade the cards.
If you have only 1 or 2 cards for a set that gives an item you don't need, might as well sell/trade them. You don't need to collect them all yourself.

Which is exactly against the idea behind the cards in the first place. They are implemented absolutely horribly and I am really surprised more people are not complaining (besides the huge thread on the forum) and that there hasn't been a dev response yet.
The cards are fine. Cards for rare uniques are just like rare uniques, you get jackpot lucky or you don't. Cards for medium/low tier uniques are also well balanced, if you want a Tabula Rasa you can pretty easily farm for one in Aqueducts. If you farm Aqueducts through every difficulty you should be getting close by the time you reach A4M. I always get atleast one, sometimes more Humility cards every time I farm Aqueducts on a new character.
Just treat Divination cards like a currency item(Which they pretty much are anyway, they share the same drop mechanics.)

It'd be ludicrous to expect the player to be able to gather [I]all[/I] the cards themselves, plus it would discourage player-to-player interaction and trading. PoE isn't a single player game, you get items you don't want so you can trade them away to other players; why shouldn't the cards work like this too?

Which is why I said the implementation is horrible. It would not be ludicrous to expect this if for example they were more common and you had to turn [many] more in at a time. This would make it feel more like collecting and less like more bullshit rng in a game full of bullshit rng.
Yeah okay, interaction via trading basically boils down to telling them you're buying their shit, pressing the trade button, and accepting the trade. The 'interaction' when it comes to trading of any kind is heavily overstated.
After failing hard with my mine build, I'm tempted to do a discharger or righteous fire build, always wanted to do the later, and since rise of the phoenix is even cheaper now I can't see a reason not to try.

Been playing RF Incinerator in Tempest recently and it's incredibly fun. Highly recommend it.
I'm currently rolling a very strange build and I am pretty sure it's gonna be garbage in the end :v:
Marauder with a bow(Chin Sol) Empire's Grip + Point Blank. What do you think my chances are?
That could work just fine. Be sure to pick up the Iron Grip keystone.
Dunno how much Empire's Grasp would help though. What skill are you using? I know most Chin Sol builds end up using traps.
Ofc getting Iron Grip, I'm planning on using Tornado Shot(just gonna shoot under myself to drag enemies closer).
You could put your skill on ranged totem, and get ancestral bond :v:

I dont know this was possible, but i had a 4 socket rare astral plate that i vaal'd, and it became a 6L
i cried out of joy, until i realized it had 2 blue 2 green 2 red sockets, when i actually needed 5red 1 green :(

Which league? 2B/2G/2R is exact colours I need, if it's in Tempest I'll gladly buy it.
5r1g would be relatively easy to get though, vorici can modify corrupted gear with vaal orbs ie. "At least one green socket" costs 4 chromes and 4 vaal orbs

You can still change the colors with master crafting, start saving up those vaal orbs!
5 red 1 green isn't even hard to get on Astral Plate, you might get it in the first 5 tries probably.

Only level 8 Vorici can master craft corrupted gear.
MrFlashCat just crafted the socket colours on my 6L astral for me and even payed for it, he's the best <3
