So I decided to re-roll one of my old characters into a flameblast totem build.
It actually worked, sort of. In a way, it's basically a safer alternative to casting the 10 stack flameblast yourself though it cannot benefit from spell echo.

In 2.0 they made spell echo not work with Flameblast (because apparently murdering prolif wasn't enough) so you aren't losing out on much :v:
Do totems still hold the flameblast at 10 stacks until they die or do they actually use it properly?

They hold the 10 stacks until they die/are unsummoned so have to summon more totems which is a bit bad when there are no enemy packs nearby so the totems don't get to do anything.

imo that should be retroactive, unless the chance is rubbish they will still be extremely strong for crit characters - the sustain on my shitty CoC character was insane even though he only had 2.8k hp, just because of the instant health pot spam

also a curious change for point blank, I thought people liked the 100% less because it stopped you hitting reflect packs offscreen with stray arrows. with 50% less the damage will still be near useless

I'm checking out the new tree, and I'm unsure if starting as a shadow would be wise for a fire trap build and if going out of my way to grab the "can set up 2 aditional mines" node is worth it.
Life seems really lacking on shadow's side, maybe I should go life+es?

Stupid question, but I'm wondering if "increased spell damage" increases the fire trap explosion, the damage over time, or both.
I know fire trap has the "spell" tag, but wiki says nothing if if affects just one or both effects.
afaik initial explosion is scaled via spell damage, the burning ground isnt

Play temporary leagues and you'll never have to care about legacy items :v:
I'm not sure why all nerfs aren't retroactive, but I think it's also far too late to make all nerfs retroactive.
i think they generally dont do retro nerfs specifically to keep standard a 'play with a bunch of shit that was broken in the past!' sandboxy environment
standard is barely the same game as temp leagues

i feel like maybe it didnt need both of those nerfs but who knows maybe they tried one at a time and it was still vastly overpowered
that's kind of a relief, I've been wanting to try a fire-> chaos spell caster using that dagger but I didn't want to be funnelled into incinerate

Oh god. One of the challenges requires you to do A Swig of Hope in Merciless. I haven't done that quest in years because of how [i]awful, boring, and long it is for the shitty reward you get[/i]
