[QUOTE=Teh Zip File;50997380]So someone killed Shaper in standard and he dropped this sword:

681 PDPS. Jesus fucking christ. With better rolls it's as good as mirrored 2H swords in standard... with 20% increased AoE.
[/QUOTE]
Can't use Hatred though which is a big DPS boost
That sword is good, definitely a buff to 2h sword builds.
But...
1. No ele damage, so Added fire/Hatred/Taste of Hate/Herald of Ash won't work.
2. Can't be used with Earthquake, which is still by far the strongest melee skill in the game.
It's strong, but not as strong as the knee-jerk reaction most people are having.
a monster dropped an ex for me in act 2 cruel.
i'm riCH
So if I wanted to start getting into this game again, is that going to be hard?
This game isn't as easily deciphered as Diablo 2 is to me so I don't really fully understand what I'm doing all the time

If you're familiar with ARPG games such as Diablo 2 you shouldn't have much of a problem. The most daunting part of the game is probably the passive tree, once you dive in to the game you'll learn that the passive tree is way simpler than it looks.

Also, pick any popular build that's easy to start with and build up your currency store, such as Earthquake, Contagion/Essence Drain, Bladefall/Blade Vortex, and so forth. There are many cheap builds you can find on the forums easily.
I played this for a good while the other night and really enjoyed it along with some mates, it looks like there's a lot to do and I could get a lot of hours out of it
But the camera angle is fucking with me so hard I have to take breaks in order to not feel sick. No damage numbers is a shame too. Are there any settings I'm missing to change the pitch of camera or zoom out a little? Diablo 3's camera angle is perfect I just wish this was the same, from googling around I see lots of other people having the same issue. It seems like an easy change for the devs

The camera angle is pretty much fixed lol, and so far afaik the devs haven't said anything about permitting us to change it/allowing that as an option.
I understand that the levels were probably built with that camera angle in mind and so we could see dodgy geometry/backfaces and other little glitches but I'd rather have that than motion sickness. Divinity: Original Sin had the same issue and the devs just added an option to rotate the camera and zoom further etc with a little pop up box warning that you'd see graphical glitches

Oops was supposed to merge
that Shaper sword is bonkers, basically a 2H Sword version of Facebreakers since all of its damage is a %increase instead of flat so it gets huge damage increases from added flat phys damage. will be crazy with Abyssus
Found a Kaom's Cache on my first character. Got Kaom's Sign. Oh well, at least I feel lucky, 400 hours and I've seen two of Kaom's Caches.

I have probably 600 hours clocked since the release of strongboxes and I have yet to see a single unique strongbox...

it's less about graphics and more about gameplay considerations
it's supposed to be kind of claustrophobic so you can't see what's coming from miles away, you only see things once they're an actual threat

I've played roughly 2400 hours since Ambush league and I had not found a unique strongbox before Essence league. In the past two days I found a Strange Barrel and Perandus Bank. I think the increase buffed the amount of unique strongboxes significantly.

welp
Pfff... Not even quality, vendor trash.
[url=https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1723703]Atlas Map Drop Improvements[/url]
I don't know if a 5% map drop buff is enough, but at least they're doing something. (And the other changes are great) Moving up in map tiers right now is really goddamn painful.
After uninstalling the steam version I'm going to try the stand alone client. Been reading about the slow as fuck unpacking system which makes even small updates abysmally slow on steam (I hope it's different on the stand alone client). How's this new Atlas update going so far?
IIRC you can replace the steam poe exe with the standalone so you can still play througj steam but not with the awful packing system

I played the game before it came to steam and I remember it taking just a long to update with the standalone updater, but maybe that changed.

Do you still have to install the full game on steam? SA client has no login with steam and my email that's linked to said account doesn't work as a login.....

I just finished installing the whole game in 2 hours. I don't even want to bother going through a full installation on steam again.
Sold my Skyforth for 3 exalts, 420 chaos, and a phys conversion Vinktars. Had it up for sale for 19ex, that's about 15ex worth of stuff.
Might have been able to get more, but I wanted money now :v: That is by far the biggest trade I've ever made.
Thats amazing, how are people already so rich? I've never even seen an exalt :v:
[editline]7th September 2016[/editline]
Thats how bad and poor I'm at this game
It took me around 200h of playtime to drop my first and only ex.
Just waiting for your currency to drop will take ages. Knowing the price of items and knowing WHICH items to put up for sale will allow you to make a lot more currency than drops-only ever will.

Just confirming how the new integrated trade system works with stash tabs. If I set an item for exact price in my stash tab, itll show up on sites like, poe.trade for people to see? Or am I completely wrong.

Yes, sites like poe.trade pulling the price of those items is the exact reason that system has been made, so trading is a bit more streamlined but still without the use of an auctionhouse like Diablo.

You trade and convert currencies. I haven't had a single currency drop larger than a Chaos orb drop in Essence yet but I still have like 7-9 Exalted orbs worth of gear.
Trading is a key aspect of the game and is really the only way to build a lot of wealth unless you're very lucky.
I tend to check prices on things I find and think might be worth something but I guess I haven't got far enough to get to the real meat of the trading yet. I only play hardcore and never plan my characters, just do things on the go. Tends to lead to a lot of dying and silly shit but thats fine its fun
[editline]7th September 2016[/editline]
Level 64 now, dual wield lacerate Gladiator with the bleed thing.. I use multistrike and knockback to bleed everything to death it's stupid but somehow I'm melting shit
[editline]7th September 2016[/editline]
I guess it's more the fact that I get a lot of extra damage against bleeding enemies
Multistrike is bad for bleed Lacerate, you're namelocked for ages and your bleeds deal less damage
