I'm leveling a Explosive Arrow Champion and it's a lot of fun. I'm only around level 40.
Permanent Fortify, 7-8K Life, Great clearspeed & can deal with any content in the game. Affoardable because it's not ES or Blade Flurry. Great choice if you want to push a high level with minimal risk.

I'm using Kaom's, planning on obviously using high life gear and I grab around 240-250% Increased Life from the tree. My life might dip a bit if I decide to use uniques such as Devoto's Devotion and Winds of Change, but should still be very high.

So I was looking around for a cheap easy build and it seems like a lot of people are suggesting blade flurry. Is that decent for a noob?
Also, none of the builds talk about what skills to use before you get to blade flurry. What would you guys suggest?

Blade Flurry is extremely satisfying to use, and clears groups very efficiently. Never had a problem against Breach mobs with that spell.
I leveled with some bow skills and a rare bow + quiver, up until level 28 after which I started using dual swords and Frenzy + Reave. You could also just use a rare two handed axe/maul and use things like Sunder and Heavy Strike. Rare two handed weapons have extremely good DPS early on, when you don't need to worry about defense yet; Switch to the desired weapons once you get enough socketed items and good passives set up.
To be honest you can use pretty much whatever you want until blade flurry or skill of your choice. Unless you're trying to be fast or optimize

I'm currently using molten strike with increased projectiles and flame trap with multi-trap. It seems to be working fine. I just killed the first Boss (Mirvil, something like that) very easily.

I wouldn't recommend Blade Flurry this patch. Blade Flurry is the new flavour of the month meta build, similair to what Blade Vortex was last patch, so gear will be incredibly inflated. Not very beginner friendly.

You don't have Elemental Equilibrium, which is highly recommended to get because of how efficient it is and a huuugee damage boost for the build(Shoot 5 EA then proc EE + Flammability with a Curse on Hit Frenzy/Rain of Arrows setup)
Going in to Marauder is also pretty efficient, 20% life, 1,8% Life regen, 20 flat life in 6 nodes.

Yep you can corrupt +1 level of socketed gems on it. RIP all the people who spent thousands of Exalted orbs corrupting 6L Demigod's Dominance to get a BiS SRS chest.
Though that socket cannot be modified will be troublesome.

What would you recommend? I have no clue here and would hate to put time into something that ends up being useless and/or very inefficient late game.
Blade Flurry is perfectly fine (it's a great skill, OP even :v: ) but yeah, good gear will be rather expensive. You could do a Flameblast build like this one:
