Still wanting to do a two handed heavy strike duelist, how does this look?

Witch a shit, Lady dialla is best girl
Lady Diallia is also kind of fucked in the head and one step away from nuking US if we ever piss her off. I'd say that she's more dangerous purely on that basis. That, and she owns a powerful artifact that can create animated banners.
edit: your build looks pretty decent, though it might be a little short on life in endgame.
I get random lag spikes and either I or the mobs start to teleport.
This was annoying on Brutus cruel mode since he would attack me halfway from the room and suddenly I'm next to him and dead.
Actually, Brutus has an attack that pulls you to him.
How much do gems usually go for? I want to get Summon Skeletons, Decoy Totem, Rejuvenation Totem, and Clarity.

In standard you can easily get those for an alch each, if not less.
They're also all Quest Rewards fairly early in the game too, so if you want you can get them yourself if you play through the game with the right class.
I actually made a duelist just for getting some gems and transferring them to my ranger.
How long is the Domination league going to continue? I've got some stuff on Standard that I want to give to my Domination characters.
Alternatively, how much does a Perandus Signet cost on Domination?

It ends on February 23rd, 2014.
Finally, they made Bandit respecs a possibility.
Looking forward to Descent Champions too, looks really fun.
How much does life leech cost in standard? I don't think I'm ever going to find it so I might as well just buy it.

You can get it from several different quests in cruel difficulty.
I'm interested on trap builds, could someone recommend one that isnt gear dependant?

It's a reward on mercy mission, don't know if it's for all the classes
Is it just me - or is the beginning of the game like, ridiculously hard? I've played as an Archer and a Marauder, and I can't seem to pass the mission where you have to find the medicine chest inside the pirates ship, because I keep on dieing. Not to mention the stupid group of cannibals which I have to run past every five seconds. Any tips?

What's your gear and skill tree at?
What's your gear and skill tree at?
Nothing exciting, as I'm only like level 4, I think, give me a minute I'll check
Oh shit I thought you meant at fairgraives for a second. Just take things slow in the beginning. Don't go rushing into big battles and try to pick off dudes.

Finish them off slowly. If they chase you, just run away. Don't forget to use your potions. Gems like Split Arrow and Rain of Arrows are pretty cool.

Use AoE skills to deal with mob packs, don't kill them one by one with Heavy Strike or Burning Arrow please.
Just kite and attack them.
I honestly can't say I've ever died in Act 1. Fire Trap + Rain of Arrows will kill most mobs pretty quickly, Ice Shot is good to, keeps them on the trap longer. Cold Damage as a whole is good because it slows people down and gives you a chance to run.
So far I had 3 types of death:
the "what the fuck is going on when will the blood stop raining",
the "I'm going to take this mob pack on",
and the "who needs healing anyway, it's going to die first" types of death.

Path of Exile is pretty much the only game I know of where you start out in such poor straits that even the local (half-starved) hobos can beat the crap out of you if you don't know what you're doing. :v:
A far cry from the more sedate aRPGs of yore that it was inspired by.

I can already smell the Chaos Damage :v:
great, another squid-like eldritch abomination. Anybody for calamari?
Im playing as a shadow and needed intelligence for an item and noticed some of my skills are spells (e. knives), so I put two points up the intelligence line, however I was going down the dexterity.
Is this a smart thing to do or should I refund one side?
Find a build and stick to it, if you want to play a ranged shadow put more points into dex. If caster (and this is very viable as well) put points into int. Eth Knives requires a small amount of both DEX and INT as it increases in level. The wiki has the exact values you'll need for all gems from level 1-20.
It would help if you posted up your current skill tree.

Don't waste points taking +10 attribute nodes if you need that to equip an item. Your build should pass by some +30 Attribute nodes, those are worthwhile getting.
Alternatively, just get an amulet or ring to provide the stats you need.
Actually, Brutus has an attack that pulls you to him.
A little late on that, but trust me it is not THAT attack.
I used to kite him around a wall and because of the lag either I or HE teleported.
This even happens when I'm taking on a group of mobs.First I'm running away, and next I'm back where I was 2 seconds ago taking loads of dmg.
I have the same problem. I'll lag slightly, and get teleported into a large group of angry mobs.
It's desync. Try to avoid walking through big mob packs or cutting off corners.
