My first character was a shadow, unless you're focusing on Rain of Arrows you'll probably want to go with an arrow skill like Poison Arrow or Explosive Arrow.

I'm curious, does it really matter what kind of armour you use relative to your profession?
assuming you have the attributes for it, is there any advantage to shield, armor and dodge gear?

It gives you a little bit extra life (50% or so) and some more damage and attack speed at the expense of 70% bonus armor. In my opinion the bonus armor really doesn't help that much, especially if you will be running an aura like grace. I tried to keep the general layout as similar as possible so I didn't go too overboard on the changes. I picked up elemental adaptation just because going from 25% incoming elemental damage to 23% is an 8% reduction. Hope your build works out.

Yeah, I had to use like 15 portal scrolls on my Marauder. Dominus is a tough fucker, plus his adds give a lot of trouble.

Armour is good if you're expecting to get hit, ES is good if you expecting to get hit a bit and then be able to nip out and recover and dodge is if you want to avoid being hit.

I am liking the changes so far, might change it up just a bit to include the chaos resist though. Damage is great, but the original idea was based around getting up a shield if you are getting melted. That is why I didn't take any 2h skills. Thanks for the input.

since it's spoilers for that fight [sp]His first form isn't too hard, just dodge his big spells and stay away from the totems. On his second form, stay near him, blood rain doesn't harm you if you are under his shield, and he also will try to pull you if you are outside of his range. If you die, try to go back to him with a portal and he starts casting blood rain, simply stand idle so that the invulnerable buff can protect you until it's over.[/sp]

That was probably the boss you meet around the middle of it.
It spams traps that shoot lightning everywhere and is probably the most ridiculous boss I've ever fought before Dominus.

I have a level 2 Animate Guardian gem and so far it's only useful to me in low-level areas since I can only animate up to level 30 armours and weapons. It's cool to have a companion with you that transfers even through levels but right now the guardian seems to weak for me.

I can rework it some more if you really want that chaos resist. So are you planning to switch between 2h and 1h + shield all the time or focusing on the 1h? If you just want to do 1h + shield I can change it a bit. Also if you get the chaos res up top you might as well get the aura nodes near there. Do you know what main skill you want yet?

By taking your time, don't be afraid to port back to town multiple times to refill your flasks.
Don't just facetank, avoid their big hits (Vaal smash, Merveil Ice Spears, Piety Ice Spears)

guessing by it's name you can make it into ANYTHING with the appropriate orbs.
no it's just the only unique that starts out with 6 linked white slots, which can have any gem of any color socketed into them

If you also go Resolute Technique (and optionally with Unwavering Stance + Iron Reflexes), Dex/Int become worthless and it's much easier to build for
