Doesn't consume a portal scroll, you just respawn at the start of the instance, or at the waypoint if there is any (it has to be activated though).

It could easily include player made portals (i'd make sense if it did, because it'd allow you to skip having to wait for town to reload only to rush into your portal and wait until the previous level loads.). If they do, then those need to be closed when you respawn, or you'll be able to return again and again with only one.
What do you guys think of this? It's a two handed maces and stuns build, but I'm not too sure where to go with it next, should I head up the templar side and get the other endurance charge, grab the life, resist and regen nodes around the duelist charge, the starting life and armour, pick up the stun and mace damage nodes around Resolute technique, something else?
That cleave buff sounds nice Also I want this hammer [t]http://i.imgur.com/p12GISv.png[/t] Praise the sun! [t]http://i.imgur.com/SMZEgdy.jpg[/t]

I think Ground Slam would be the best skill choice.
So I just started playing again (registered like February last year) and I have a level 31 Marauder. Some guy just gave me a Unique mace and now I have literally 10x damage. Practically one-hit everything, and I just started Act 3. Life Gain on Hit linked to Ground Slam. Got Sweep, Leap Slam, and Heavy Strike also. I've got a few skill tree resets and I know I should be using Resolute Technique (since I can't crit anyways with the mace). What else should I be going for? Really been out of it for a while so I don't know whats good.

I'll probably find something better by then. This is my skill tree right now: http://www.pathofexile.com/passive-skill-tree/AAAAAgEAIQIhVScvLPs5Dj38Vw1YY18_cql2f3uMfLh82X7gjM-Rzp5XpKypc7vtvJ_G2NIh2WHjn-RR7w7xrPIv9kj3Mve- After getting Resolute Technique, I just kinda wandered around. Should I be particularly aiming for something? I've got four resets.
is there any point to using sweep? I think ground slam is better :v: you could go downwards from the mace circle and get blood magic and unwavering stance
They changed ground slam's effect, looks way better, big wave of rock flying into the air instead of some red cracks, easier to see where it's hitting when there's other effects around.
you could go downwards from the mace circle and get blood magic and unwavering stance
Sounds good. What does Mortal Conviction do? 40% less Mana Reserved?
Sounds good. What does Mortal Conviction do? 40% less Mana Reserved?
Less life reserved for auras, it's well worth taking.
Less life reserved for auras, it's well worth taking.
I don't have any auras yet so I guess I'll save that point. Thanks for the help guys.
I'm not sure whether mortal conviction is worth getting I didn't use any auras on my BM marauder, but if you are planning on it, you might be better off not taking the bloodmagic passive and instead supporting your main attacks with the bloodmagic gem that way, you can reserve most of your mana with auras and still spam ground slam using health however, since you have no intellect you might not even be able to get decent auras up with what little mana you have one of our more experienced players should definitely chime in on this topic though, I'm kind of a noob as well :v:

Shows how much I know. I looked up the auras and it seems like I won't be using them much either.
Less life reserved for auras, it's well worth taking.
yeah nah, it's pretty awful I've never seen anyone using it. Ever since the official release 1.0.0 and the change to all auras having a % based cost the Blood Magic Keystone goes untouched in 95% of the builds. Auras became a lot stronger so people support their skills with a Blood Magic support gem and use their mana to run like 2 maybe 3 auras. The 40% less Mana Reserved is multiplicative so if you have a 60% aura, it'll become a 36% cost. Let's say you have 5000 HP, you'll throw away 36% of that for just a single aura, bringing your life down to 3200 HP. Even if you're going to take all the other Reduced Aura cost nodes, you're still throwing away all the resources your mana pool has to offer by taking the Blood Magic Keystone. That one Blood Magic support gem can save you a lot of passive nodes, life and basically free auras to run off of your mana. Just make sure to support your skill with another support gem such as Life Leech or Life Gain on Hit to sustain for the health cost of casting your skills, but that's pretty much mandatory to survive late game anyway.
Just started playing after reading abit of this thread. Got a level 30 Witch but i'm abit confused with life on hit, i decided to get some claws that gave me +18hp on hit assuming that each one of my fireballs which hits upwards of 5-10 people would give me HP back. However this doesn't seem to be the case can someone please clear up for me the best way to get HP back on attacks as a Witch. Cheers

Cheers
All gems have a set of categories linked to them, for example Fireball has the keywords: - Fire - Projectile - Spell - AoE So, every support gem with the same keyword can support Fireball, for example the support gem Fire Penetration has the keyword Fire, which is the same as Fireball has. Linking this to Fireball will give the ability the power to penetrate through a % of Fire Resistance your enemy has. However, Life Gain on Hit has the keyword Attack, instead of Spell. So it only supports Attack based abilities. An ability is either a Spell or an Attack. You always need to pay close attention to these keywords if you want to link up working support gems. If you do want to gain life whenever you hit your Fireball, you can use the support gem Life Leech, which can be linked with literally every ability seeing as it has no restricting keywords However, the life you gain back is % based on the damage you deal, so early on it won't be as much as Life Gain on Hit can offer you, but when you reach endgame you can get a lot more out of it. You can check out the PoE wiki to learn more about this stuff: http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Path_of_Exile_Wiki

Informative post! Many thanks. That's helped me understand alot better. I don't think i'm utilizing these support gems enough. Time to get my hands on life leech and see if it's worth it for act 3. Cheers mate!
I really suggest taking atleast 2, maybe even 3 auras if you go for some passives that reduces mana reservation. I used to run Anger/Wrath/Grace with a BM gem for my main ability and it used to boost my damage and survivability quite a bit.

If you want you can send me a friend invite and I can answer questions you have whenever I'm online, or post your character name here and I can throw you an invite for the Facepunch Guild which can always use more active players.
How does this look for a glacial cascade build? Will use either wand or 1h maces and shield. Are the freeze duration and breath of rime passives worth taking?
try storm call if you want shock stacks

A lot of Freeze Pulser did that back in the day and seeing as Glacial Cascade is pretty much a second Freeze Pulse it'll work just as good.

Yeah i'd read up on bits and bats but some of it gets abit confusing. Currently wanting to swap some higher end orbs for Good gear. (In act 3 now, about to kill boss but my gear sucks...)
I was looking at the global PoE achievement statistics on steam and holy shit I'm amazed by how little people have completed end-game related stuff
8.3% of players capped their elemental resistances 5.7% of players reached level 60 in a non-hardcore league 2.8% of players finished Normal difficulty in a hardcore league 2.7% of players finished Merciless difficulty in a non-hardcore league 1.7% of players reached level 60 in a hardcore league 0.9% of players finished Merciless difficulty in a hardcore league
I know that's only for people that play through Steam and not on PoE's own platform but still, more than 94% of people that play on Steam have never even reached lv 60 and thus have never played the real end-game of PoE.
That's kind of interesting. I guess it must be the difficulty and complexity that is either slowing people down or putting them off. I can personally say I am part of that 94% and the farthest I have gotten in the game is the final boss of act 3 on a standard league. I wouldn't say I don't play because the game is bad, in fact I think it is amazing, but I just don't seem to have the time to go through the entire game.
I think it's mainly how the early game is relatively slow, your attacks miss almost half the time, you move slow and have a slow attack speed. I think that's just the main problem that puts a lot of people that are giving the game a go off. They quit somewhere around act 2 Normal because of that and never get to experience the higher levels where shit goes really fast and get all that fat loot. At least that happened when I tried getting friends to play this game, I managed to get one guy to reach lv 60+ but he took a break and never returned since. Pretty sure I've gotten like 20+ character to lv60+ and if I push it I can get the entire Normal Difficulty done in like 2-3 hours. The actual game starts once you're in act 3 Merciless and get to do maps, that's where people have the most fun, just 94% of the people never get to see it :(
It'd be cool if they added a league that just let you skip straight to maps. Maybe it'd only unlock once you'd gotten that far normally or something.
I think a big update to early game would help this game. It's really tedious to level from the beginning since everything feels way too slow, especially in hardcore for me since I take it slower to not die.
