oh shit we have a poe thread? I sort of play this game casually, nowhere near rich enough to have a build that can actually do Cruel. My only issue with PoE is how newbie unfriendly it can be, none of the community guides really give simple explanations for entry level Cruel builds. So I sort of just fiddle around with builds for fun. Maybe I'll take up running/racing.
I know what you mean! I'll tell you that there are some builds out there that can reach end-game without dropping a buck on gear, though! The groundslam marauder is as easy as it gets. I've been having a blast with mine, and didn't buy any gear until level 65, at which point I bought a cheap weapon (10 chaos) that is serving me quite well.
As long as you get enough life nodes in the tree and try to get enough life and resists on gear, reaching the end of Merciless should be no problem at all really. Try to get around 1.2k life when you enter cruel and around 2.5k+ for Merciless.

I am confused by molten strike, do the magma balls deal both physical and fire damage or just fire damage? [img]Magma projectiles: Unmodified projectiles will deal 72% of full weapon damage, of which 60% of physical is converted to fire damage.
physical and fire. The projectiles deal 72% of whatever base damage you can do with Molten Strike. 60% of this damage is fire damage.
Holy shit the buffed infractem is incredible for my ice shot build. The 100% chance pierce means that the 2nd or 3rd target behind the initial one has the potential to take 100-200% more damage (cause of the cone of ice damage behind the initial target) than the intial hit plus the crit chance hnnng. the damage buff makes it on par with lioneye's glare in terms of just damage (way less attack speed but I don't need it really), but just holy shit. And I got it for just 5 chaos.

I'd recommend following a build to start off with that can carry you to end game and give you a good grasp of the game and all the different mechanics. Then start making your dream build.
I started playing this game earlier this week and a while ago I finished it on the normal difficulty. It's fun, there are no bullshit microtransactions and I think I'll keep playing it regularly at least until October because that is when my summer holidays end.
If anyone can invite me back to the FP guild I'd appreciate it. My IGN is Jonkou
Um where do I get the Scion? [editline]30th August 2014[/editline] also is there a guide to this game?
Um where do I get the Scion? This can be done in any difficulty. As far as a guide goes, this has a lot of general information you might find useful: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/549432 For anything specific (such as gems, items, etc) you can check the wiki: http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Path_of_Exile_Wiki For builds, refer to the official forums, but keep in mind that a lot of those builds require special or expensive equipment. Be sure to check that the build is fit for beginners!
Oh yeah my name is Nemoru if anyone wanted to add me to the FP Guild
Open question: how would you build the passive tree for a cast-on-crit cyclone w/ dual daggers build? I want to use Arc with CoC to make big zappy zaps.
ive been thinking of getting back into PoE and getting more invested into it this time around and beating it, but i have a question: is there anything after-game to do as a timewaster thing? kinda like adventure mode in diablo 3?

Personally I love it. Starting Merciless you have a chance of monsters dropping a map, it's an item that you can place in a device in the Eternal Lab that opens up 6 portals to a randomly generated area with a specific tileset. Each map has a unique boss assigned to it. You can use currency items on these maps like a Transmutation Orb to give it mods, this will increase the amount of loot that will drop in the map but also make it harder to clear at the same time. For example you can modify a map so that all the monsters in it do 30% more damage, or have +75% extra Lightning Resist, or players are permanentely cursed with a specific curse. thanks for the advice guys, leonthefox gave me some pointers on a good dual claw punch the world build. One thing I've always wanted to try is getting a full party of 6 players and doing a playthrough of the whole game, from normal to the end of merciless. Perhaps if there's enough EU FPers that play PoE we can set something like that up. Would be pretty fun I think.

I already feel that leveling up from normal to merciless with just 1 friend is tedious as you can't really progress unless both are online.

that's the shit i do like [t]http://puu.sh/bdRCn/5b0d1b3370.png[/t]
fuck yeah just got zana map went from 80-81
Wow... Got an amazingly crazy cheap Abyssus and I expected a big increase in DPS on my infernal blow, but I wasn't expecting over 5k dps increase, holy hell... Now to see how often I die with it.
I got the best Zana daily ever. Go in to a FREE map and kill shit until you get another FREE map, mission complete.
Is there a Facepunch guild? If so invite Konstapeln.
I think everyone should check this guide out. Procurement has helped me make 1-2 Ex / day by just trading stuff I find and would never use.
Is there a way to do the daily mission for masters in your current difficulty? Every time I go to my hideout and launch the daily mission, it's in normal difficulty.
So the thing what i call "the fracture" has occured to my latest character aswell. Meaning that the build is okay-ish on paper but lacks the proper equipment to progress forward. I'm having problems with capping resists, the stuff that drops are ofc are either crap or not for my build. I've started a witch and voila eva gear keeps dropping, but on my main which is an eva life ranger, the loot is friggin two handed axes and es gear. Also out of the rares only 2 belts dropped through 70lvls, the first is okay but the other is an Es... Fuck you RNGesus.
Is there a way to do the daily mission for masters in your current difficulty? Every time I go to my hideout and launch the daily mission, it's in normal difficulty.
Daily missions scale to Master's level.
Daily missions scale to Master's level.
But both my Zana and Vorici are lv5, yet Zana dailies are area lv70-73 but Vorici missions have all been cruel difficulty so far
