There are already plenty of decorations that serve as cages, I've already seen people trapping Zana in a small cage :v:
and apparently the cage props have proper collisions so you should be able to keep pets in there

Holy shit the Australian gateway is shit lately, running out of maps because it keeps dcing and then either dcs when I try to re-enter the map or just wipes the whole lab instance out and deletes all the portals. I was considering buying more stash tabs but at this rate there isn't much point since I can't even get shit to put in them.

Try playing on a different one, you'll have higher ping but at least it's stable. GGG already stated they're looking for improvements to upgrade the Australian servers.

Many Australians connect through the Singapore gateway. Not the best latency in the world but you will not get disconnects.
You can't pick it through the drop down menu but just type ine "Singapore" in the gateway window and connect and it should work.
singapore is... bearable most of the time, but it's so dodgy and sometimes its as bad as US

Get +flat physical damage on rings and amulets, it scales insane with Facebreakers. Even small numbers can result in 1k DPS increases.
Also, I'm running a Lv86 RF Marauder and it's super fun!

Im not following any guides on my Templar, is it smart to do what you feel is good when you spend points?
Also most guides needs special items and i'm having trouble finding any good items, on Cruel atm and still not many good items are dropping.
Or should i just reroll another character and follow a guide or something?

90% of the people that just make up their own build on the go when they're not very experienced with the game will struggle once they reach Merciless.
I'd say following a well writen guide that teaches you every aspect of the build is a safer option when you really want to reach endgame and play the endgame content. Ofcourse there's nothing wrong with trial and error, but you'll brick some characters and it might take longer to reach the endgame content.

Pretty much. Follow a build, reach endgame and learn the mechanics of the game.
Stealing charges form merciless mobs with claws of the magpie passive is hilarious
Also, plan to do a two hander flicker striker next, but can't decide on what weapon to use between axes and staves

Sceptre that dropped was also a straight upgrade to my older one, like +10% more ele damage

Too bad those are pretty rare. A lot of the builds are just "here's the level 80+ trees, here's my gear, here's some uniques you can use and here's some pics of my stats at level 90" Which is fine for people who understand a lot about PoE, but for newbies it's pretty confusing. Like the trees, when you give newbies the whole tree they probably sit there wondering which path to take first because they don't know why they want all those nodes due to the fact that the "guide" didn't give them any info.

The milestones are outdated from the patch 1.1 version so just ignore them.
The long road to 65 before I can even use RF, punching things to death with facebreaker then changing to searing bond.
