Fuck yeah, got an exalted orb from a chest in a lvl 73 map.
Transmuted t1 ES and t1 chaos... then regalled t1 life. There aren't any hybrid belts even close to this (not even on standard), and I can't afford to et/ex it... I have no idea what to do lol.
Just sell as is. I wouldn't bother to et/ex that belt. Mainly because it's a Chain Belt as base item. Even if it's a hybrid belt, people still much prefer the Leather belt base for the additional life. Since we're talking about belts, I asked a friend to yolo exalt my belt. "What do you wanna hit" he said "Armor" "I hit armor!" he said excited :suicide:
Still a p. nice belt, though. [editline]3rd October 2014[/editline] Does Elreon's signature mod of -4 to -8 mana cost count as a prefix, a suffix, or simply replace the implicit mod? Like, he sells a magic ring that only has the property "-8 to mana cost," with no prefix or suffix or implicit modifier. If I use an orb of scouring, does it erase that modifier and leave me with a completely blank ring? Can I add both a prefix and a suffix with Augmentation orbs before regalling it? If I regal it as-is, will it create a rare with only one affix, so that I can use Elreon's "Craft Multiple mods" ability to add four more?
Yes, it erases the mod if you scour it.
Just sell as is.
That's the problem, I have no idea where to even begin pricing something like this, there isn't anything to compare it to.
That's the problem, I have no idea where to even begin pricing something like this, there isn't anything to compare it to.
Well, it has high life and ES but it's missing ele resist. Granted it has chaos res, but people generally don't care that much about chaos res anyway. It looks good on paper but in reality people won't really use the belt. I don't think you'll get more than 15 chaos out of it. I mean, I just scanned through xyz and came across this which is only 5 chaos and even has a better base item. Yes, it has a wasted prefix with the mana flask recovery rate, but you wouldn't exalt it either way
Spent 20 chaos rerolling a cartographer box trying to get additional items and mirrored on it, I rage opened with 2 additional items... the box dropped two maps (both lvl 67 in a 74 map). Glad to know it wouldn't have dropped anything if it didn't have 2 additional items on it.
Oh my, who's that handsome lad at the bottom of the first page of the Rampage ladder :^) And the game treated me with this amazing drop As far as I know it's the only one(?) in Rampage. I don't see a single one for sale on poe.xyz nor have I seen someone selling one in trade chat ever. Got it in an Onslaughted map.
goddamn I want shavronne's revelation op ring
Some guy bought it for 50 exalts. I'm satisfied, I have plenty of currency to get my 6L Shavronne's Wrappings now  [editline]4th October 2014[/editline] welp The 50 ex from the ring + profit I made from crafting those bows was enough for a friend of mine to brodeal his shavs to me
Can anybody help me clean this up? I'm a bit lost, here. SKILL TREE Here's what I'm trying to accomplish: An Arctic Breath caster utilizing Avatar of Fire and Cold to Fire to convert 100% of cold damage to fire damage (plus an additional 29% of cold damage added as fire damage, with Cold to Fire's secondary effect). Links (5) Arctic Breath Added Cold Damage Cold to Fire GMP Spell Echo -Fire Pen, if I ever can get a 6L I want to double dip as much as I can on increased cold, fire, and elemental damage nodes. Cold damage gets buffed by increased cold and increased elemental, then gets converted to fire, which gets buffed by increased fire and increased elemental. Score. Right? The ground ice from Arctic Breath should still slow enemies, I'm assuming, and I'm toying with the idea of using a Three Dragons helm to proc shock stacks. It'd be a high cold spell that slows, deals fire damage, and shocks. Wild, ye? I want to do a life-based build with high regeneration, because that's just easier to gear for than energy shield builds, and there simply isn't enough in the way of evasion at this end of the tree. I plan to use a sceptre or wand and a shield. Or possibly dual wands/sceptres. Dunno. Whatever works best. As a final challenge, this end of the skill tree is a bit sparse on dexterity, and I need 108 for the Added Cold gem. I can get some of that from gear, but I don't want to have to roll dex on every item to match the needs. Help me out with this, if you got a minute! Thanks.
The thing with fire damage is that it benefits the most from a single big hit. Burn damage is calculated through 1/3rd of the initial impact hit. Using GMP will severely lower your damage output. It's a fun idea but won't be as effective. Have you thought about Ice Spear as your main skill? It hits really hard! I don't have any experience with Avatar of Fire itself so I don't really know what links are most effective to use and if certain things actually double dip or not, but I do know you want to have a single big hit and then Ele Prolif the burn damage onto the entire mob pack.
I think bda wants arctic breath for the frozen ground slow, and I don't think he HAS to add to the millions of burn prolif builds out there :v: one thing you should consider though about arctic breath is that its projectile travels along the ground, meaning it can't climb cliffs or go over gaps and it will stop if it hits any tiny piece of terrain/objects, which is really tedious at times, so yeah defo consider ice spear or freezing pulse I also have no idea how to make AoF/fire conversion work. I mean it's nice to double dip with the fire and cold nodes you've taken, but you need to figure out whether that actually works out with more dps than if you just stuck with cold damage, say going into shadow and getting the cold and elemental dam nodes there, and saving that 5th link I suppose a shield or maybe saffel's frame is mandatory since you don't have anything in the way of mitigation? thoughts on lightning coil for physical defence: http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Lightning_Coil?
Any tips for fast leveling at level 50 ?
Walk around in circles, let enemies group up, kill them, move to the next spot, repeat.
Would be nice if there were avatars for the other two elements aswell.
Any tips for fast leveling at level 50 ?
Southern Forest (first act 2 zone) in merciless from 50 to 60, maps the rest of the way.
Any tips for fast leveling at level 50 ?
Play a good build.
I've been buying cheap cloaks of defiance and 5l6s'ing them... so far I've done 3 in under 60 fusings and 200 jewlers. Easy currency if lucky I guess.

It also does higher projectile damage. I'm not sure if I'm properly understanding how Avatar of Fire actually is converting the damage, but if I am then these are the numbers I've rolled up. Please let me know where I've made any glaring mistakes, because this damage output seems absurdly high: Lvl 20 Arctic Breath: 374-561 dmg Lvl 20 Added Cold Damage: 88-132 dmg Lvl 20 Cold to Fire: 50% conversion to fire, plus addition 29% of Cold Damage added as Fire (essentially, 29% more damage) GMP Passive Tree +99% Cold Damage +99% Fire Damage +68% Elemental Damage +16% Elemental Spell Damage +62% Spell Damage Arctic Breath and Added Cold do a combined 462-693 base cold damage. Because 100% of it is cold damage being converted to fire damage, I can apply Cold, Elemental, and Spell Damage nodes to it (245% increased damage). This is increased by Cold to Fire (29% added) for a damage of 2056-3084, which is then increased by Fire Damage for a total damage of 4091-6137 per projectile. Greater multiple projectiles deal 50% less damage per projectile, but fires 5 projectiles that can shotgun. Each projectile would deal 2045-3068, and could shotgun for a combined total of 10225-15340. Combine that with a Spell Echo gem, and you've got 18405-27612 per cast. That's pretty substantial. And this is all before we factor in spell or elemental damage bonuses from equipment. Have I seriously misunderstood some basic concept here, or am I right in thinking there's potential in this build? Chilled enemies move and attack more slowly. I'll have health and health regen, but not much else in the way of defenses, so it is hopefully useful. I am considering saving up for a Three Dragon's helm to get shock stacks instead of ignite, to boost my hit damage further. But I dunno if it's necessary or worth it. Freezing pulse is choice for sure, but I am trying to get the biggest single hit damage I can out of this, and Arctic Beath hits harder than any other cold projectile spell, and can shotgun.
With cold to fire, won't the conversion result in half of the damage being spared, then 25% converted, and 25% lost before all other bonuses?
With cold to fire, won't the conversion result in half of the damage being spared, then 25% converted, and 25% lost before all other bonuses?
Nope! Cold to Fire converts 50% of cold damage to fire, and adds an additional X% of Cold damage as fire. With Avatar of Fire (which also converts 50% of cold damage to fire), that should result in 100% of cold damage converted to fire damage, plus an addition X% of cold damage added as fire. Conversion is additive, so two 50% conversions will add up to 100%, if the wiki is right. You just can't exceed 100%.
Oh wow, it should work nicely then. I'm currently leveling a spark build based around the idea of turning rooms to hell. Spark+100% pierce chance + 135%+ duration + many projectiles and a decent crit chance to hit the enemy over and over again.
If you want to turn rooms to hell you should go GMP and Fork
Throw spell echo in for added funsies.
If you want to turn rooms to hell you should go GMP and Fork
Can't use fork and 100% piercing iirc.
Can't use fork and 100% piercing iirc.
Yeah, things pierce, then fork, then chain. Something that always pierces never chains or forks.
Got tired of waiting and sold that belt for 2 exalts... not bad for something that only cost a transmute and a regal. I have this one too, just wish it was on the leather base :(
build
very nice, I like the look of this one thing though, on the idea of getting big hits, you don't have any crit chance from the tree, or even additional chance to burn/shock, and without those you will rarely actually proc those ailments and if you don't care about burn prolifs, pyre is an alternative to AoF and the gem
very nice, I like the look of this one thing though, on the idea of getting big hits, you don't have any crit chance from the tree, or even additional chance to burn/shock, and without those you will rarely actually proc those ailments and if you don't care about burn prolifs, pyre is an alternative to AoF and the gem
I will look into it! One thing I like about Avatar of Fire / Cold to Fire is that Cold to Fire ends up adding a substantial amount of damage from its secondary effect, X% of Cold Damage is added as Fire Damage. I was totally wrong about those calculations, though. I asked some folks and looked some things up, and the actual output is a bit lower (but still pretty good). Here's what I've got, with only passives and gems. Gems Arctic Breath Added Cold Damage Cold to Fire Greater Multiple Projectiles Spell Echo Increased Cold Damage: 99% Increased Fire Damage: 99% Increased Elemental Damage: 68% Increased Spell Elemental Damage: 16% Increased Spell Damage: 62% Base Damage with AB and Added Cold: 462-693 Damage for a single projectile before GMP: 2967-4455 Damage for a single projectile w/ GMP: 1483-2227 Combined Damage of Projectiles (For shotgunning single targets): 7415-11135 Spell Echo Total Damage per Cast: 13347-20043 Not too dang bad for completely unequipped damage! I'm pretty confident that I calculated this one correctly. It's a bit lower than I had hoped, but still pretty decent, and that damage would grow a good deal with some proper gear. I'm not sure how to gear it yet, though. Nothing too expensive, because I'm broke as hell. Doing something as simple as dropping in a +2 cold gems staff would have a big impact on damage, because it would boost Arctic Breath, Added Cold and Cold to Fire. A Pledge of Hands would allow for dropping the Spell Echo support in favor of a Concentrated Effect gem, which would add a substantial amount of damage per cast. But I can't afford that in the slightest. And you're right, I have no crit built in, which makes the Three Dragons helm a poor choice. I'll probably just use a decent rare instead, or maybe an Alpha's howl to try and squeeze in an extra aura. Haven't thought about that much. [editline]4th October 2014[/editline] Thanks for the Pyre suggestions! If I use that, I could replace the Cold to Fire Gem with Concentrated Effect, which is a way bigger multiplier. And if I then get a Pledge of Hands (or a 6L somethin', I guess), I could use Life Leech in the extra slot and really fuckin' rock. That was a good idea. Thank you. [editline]4th October 2014[/editline] It's times like these I wish I had a bunch of exalts laying around.
