fave mount already
Okay so this new area is both fuckin' big and also gorgeous. And mounts are so smooth. No cast-time for mounting up is great. And the animations are so good!
Yeah mounts feel pretty good. I'm pretty interested to see what the others are like.

I'm really really impressed with the animations for the raptor. They're so smooth, and I love how you build up and retain momentum. Also charr don't look too goofy on them, though I wish maybe the raptors scaled a little bit bigger.
So do movement speed boosting passive also work while mounted? Like signet and such that give a speed boost.
Pretty confused on the design philosophy of the Bounties. They're essentially normal Champ Events that rotate their locations, and you don't even need to pick up the bounty to get the reward.
Is it me or are there a shit load of mobs in PoF (or at least the area we're given)? It feels like ~3x the amount of enemies spawn in any given area compared to normal or HoT maps.
[POF] [sp]Rahim's[/sp] voice sounds so familiar, who is the voice actor? Jonathan Adams? Also voice acting is somewhat better for NPC, like the guy who was hurt in the intro; you can feel that he's pissed off, unlike the ones before that sounds like someone reading script from a piece of paper. Not sure whether I should spoiler tag but since PoF is technically not released yet I guess better safe than sorry.
The mount animations are awesome. They need to get whoever did them to redo the awful glider animations.
Anyone know what this error code is: Build: 80832 Error Code: 1076:4:5:2477 Tried changing my DNS to googles, flushing my DNS and restarting router but I can't login..

I haven't played since HoT released and only did a bit of the first area of that expansion and now I'm thinking of giving it another go. Where should I start?
Why didn't I play HoT before now? I'm loving the first new area already and the mastery system is a really interesting approach to adding max level content without bloating the game up. The fact that PoF looks even BETTER than what I expected to get out of HoT only made me more excited.
I haven't played since HoT released and only did a bit of the first area of that expansion and now I'm thinking of giving it another go. Where should I start?
start doing story, it'll keep you moving. Do whatever you find along the way that grants experience, find the mastery point things so you can unlock new abilities, etc etc
I should've actually looked into what the legendary crafting mastery reward entailed. I wasted a ton of gold and time leveling articifer and finishing the collection achievement for the first tier, only to find out I need to spend a shitload of time in PvP and WvW to actually even craft a shitty broken pole that's supposedly an experimental version of the precursor... I avoid PvP like the plague and WvW seems to pretty much require an organized guild to play effectively. I'm such an idiot. :surrender:
Is it just me, or does the game look better with shaders set to medium instead of high? The specular pops more and the characters don't have that weird shader-based rim lighting.

Who designed the archer style enemies in HoT? Those things are infuriating to fight against and do way too much damage.
The game looks better with shaders set to medium and postprocessing off
Holy shit, i logged in to check, it's a lot darker, and looks much less saturated on the characters
Who designed the archer style enemies in HoT? Those things are infuriating to fight against and do way too much damage.
Pre-nerf mordrem sharpshooters and bloodstone-crazed dudes with hammers were literally deleting gliding players.
loodstone-crazed dudes with hammers were literally deleting gliding players.
that 50,000 range rock-throwing Mantle made me upset
that 50,000 range rock-throwing Mantle made me upset
I generally can't empathize with people who think open world/story content is in the slightest challenging but god damn is Bloodstone Fen annoying to navigate with those cultist assholes. also i just got a super epic gamer loot get
they become a lot easier to deal with when you get the mastery that allows you to see through their stealth
I really hope this won't be a common thing in PoF, requiring certain things just to not die.
they become a lot easier to deal with when you get the mastery that allows you to see through their stealth
They would be a lot more tolerable if they didn't have ranged attacks that are able to instantly down you in 3-5 seconds if not evaded/blocked, the ability to switch to melee and stun you for 2s before doing a combo that nearly instadowns you, and finally passively evades 50% of ranged attacks which is a big "fuck you" to anyone who doesn't have at least 1 melee as a backup or is an engineer. While I get that people wanted harder content anet kinda went overboard with npcs that are a combination of bullet sponges and DPS powerhouses that require passive/sustain builds (and lots of stability at times for those npcs with broken charge hitboxes that launch you just for existing relatively near you). The south-west hero point is a good example of how broken the itzel npcs in particular are, while all the other npcs scale properly as champions the south-west one turns an itzel into an even more obnoxious murder machine that oneshots anything that breathes. I'm hoping they're getting the idea that cramming a bunch of bullshit like that into npcs isn't fun (ex: being in bloodstone fen and getting sniped by a rock from 5000 units away with a 25%(?) rng chance to stun you for 5s and make you crater), and from what I've seen in the preview they seem to be working on npcs that are fun and interesting to fight rather that just ones with high health and DPS that spam CC. So I'm optimistic that the second expansion's maps will be more interesting and won't be as frustrating as the previous ones. Also I find it funny that because of how lame the HoT npcs are and how elite specs greatly scaled up damage potential to be on par with the content they decided to add a mastery that gives you some extra damage and survivability while downed since you were pretty much dead if you happened to be.
theres so many shoulder skins that are unique to NPCs. I was just clearing up some maps I hadnt explored on certain characters and I noticed these in Southsun [t]http://i.imgur.com/LrDI61j.png[/t] Lionguard have another unique shoulder skin and then theres also one that the pirates have in Gendarren have too. Its just weird that they've never released these in any way
Pre-nerf mordrem sharpshooters and bloodstone-crazed dudes with hammers were literally deleting gliding players.
Pre-nerf? Were they nerfed? Last time I flew by one of these fuckers I got smashed midday and plummeted to the lowest layer of the jungle

I mean they already have most of the assets there for 3/5's of the races.
