Yeah, you kinda need to be dancing with your enemy to use the counter + dagger skills effectively, I'm enjoying it tho since I mostly play solo.
Get mh dagger and offhand axe with axe trait. Reliable source of quickness + free 300 ferocity.
When I was looking through the minis collection I found a mini I never seen before, a Mini Eye of Janthir. When I found out it sells in the trading post for only 20 gold, I had to get, it's a floating Quadrilateral with a weird eye in it for god sake. :pyramid:
in gw1 even more so [t]https://i.ytimg.com/vi/HsD-IiF5ISE/maxresdefault.jpg[/t]
i really need to beat gw1
Get mh dagger and offhand axe with axe trait. Reliable source of quickness + free 300 ferocity.
I use MH axe OH dagger and I like the "Bullcharge, swap, dagger 4, eviscerate, counter, eviscerate again" combo [editline]2nd October 2017[/editline] I wish warrior sword wasnt condi focused because sword/dagger aesthetic is cool to me [editline]2nd October 2017[/editline] Greatsword is still my go to for most scenarios though.
If s/s was good I'd be able to use FDS and IDS together, the ultimate GW1 dream
I should be using torch on my firebrand, but I just can't use it over shield :v: At least i can give some aegis which procs quickness which in turn procs more burning...so it's not ALL wrong....right?
Are any of the new specs good? All I see is people complaining about them...except for maybe Spellbreaker which is bound to be nerfed.
Are any of the new specs good? All I see is people complaining about them...except for maybe Spellbreaker which is bound to be nerfed.
it's the early days, so a shitton of people are trying to play them with very little understanding of what works and what doesn't. half the new class builds being put up on metabattle are getting shit on with low ratings, reading into comments there and on the discord it seems it's in no small part because the new class doesn't respect the core class's established roles and can't flatly out-DPS others, or players are relying too heavily/not at all on the new weapon without consideration for traits/skills/situations and just whole-ham into ONLY using the new weapon set, which leads to not utilizing the class's mechanic or general focus as well as they could. like, Deadeye players sticking solely to rifle are under-DPSing content because the rifle only does the good damage in a few bursts, specifically after you've been engaged with a single target for an extended period of time. It's useful for veterans and up but 90% of pve mobs are going to die before you've got high enough malice to make the rifle count, and p/p is a joke to everybody prior to deadeye existing so everybody starts saying "oh well now I should just swap to dagger/x and DPS like a normal thief and at that rate I should just upgrade to daredevil because it does more dps" each class has details we haven't noticed yet, strengths to really find and acknowledge. -Some people judge solely on spvp play and how effective something is against other players. I feel this is a vocal majority of meta-heads and they hold a lot of sway over what gets changed down the line for everyone because of it. Again, with the deadeye, I keep seeing it compared against daredevil, and every argument seems to come down to "you're not gonna have time to get big damage off with the rifle before a daredevil gets in your face and dps's you into the dirt". like wow yeah it sure does suck if you show up to every game and for some reason a 1v1 DPS contest of you vs something that hard-counters your skillset and also knows where you are at any given time -Some people judge based on wvw, where PVP is a vastly different beast. Deadeye probably has massive advantage in picking off back-liners in the middle of guild fights and zergs because they can build up that malice and might and plop massive damage on people. In pve by myself I've been reaching 28k single hits with that 4 skill, if it holds up like that in wvw with some coordinated might building, you're basically able to delete players from a fight. I'm sure this also works to its advantage if you're a strategic player instead of a run-in-and-melt-faces type in spvp -raid/fractal pve, people are very DPS-oriented because it's a necessity due to some boss mechanics and generally wanting to get shit done fast. I don't blame them at all -open world pve, It's a GREAT class to take on hard content alongside a tanky friend, I've gotten a decent sense of teamwork out of pairing up like that (even when it feels a bit silly to hang so far back and peck away at stuff) the other class I played quite a bit was holo, again everybody's first instinct is to use the new equipment and slap on all of the new skills but doing strictly that absolutely muddies your ability to focus on a high output. I don't think anybody's figured it out quite yet, people seem to be spamming the new skills without regard for what they do, or putting up builds that use absolutely nothing of the skills or heat meter. Someone posted a bombkit autoattack build! jesus christ
Are any of the new specs good? All I see is people complaining about them...except for maybe Spellbreaker which is bound to be nerfed.
Firebrand and Scourge are also really busted in the right hands.
If s/s was good I'd be able to use FDS and IDS together, the ultimate GW1 dream
I remember I ran it in the past in wvw. I'd run through zergs cutting everyone around me and survive for stupid amounts of time. Sort of like this minus the end.

I may have reached diminishing returns on the amount of quickness sources I have, but I don't care. I've always wanted to run shield on Guardian and it finally feels decent, so I'm jumping at the opportunity.
if you need help ingame drop your username.1234 or a character name here, and add 'dai' to friends ingame, I can add you to the guild and you'll have access to a few of us, it's rare to have lowbies to play with and level our own low characters so people tend to jump at the chance. FP Guild chat is generally quiet til someone speaks up, as it's basically a glorified friends list
My username is JimmyTheRascal.2706 I look forward to playing with you all!
What the fucking, cunting fuck is it with this game and disconnects during story missions WITH NO FUCKING CHECKPOINTS. I quit PoF story missions.
On launch you'd lose actual open world progress if you dc'd :v:
What the fucking, cunting fuck is it with this game and disconnects during story missions WITH NO FUCKING CHECKPOINTS.
Deadeye players sticking solely to rifle are under-DPSing content because the rifle only does the good damage in a few bursts, specifically after you've been engaged with a single target for an extended period of time.
How to play Deadeye before they buff the rifle for pve: - Get "No Quarter" GM in Critical Strikes - Get "Be Quick or Be Killed" in Deadeye - Get P/P, Mark the target and spam "Unload" Take "Haste" for even more "Unload".
I just started playing again after ages, made a new account because I can't remember any of the old details and got the expansions with my friends. Should I level to 80 and do everything naturally or should I boost a character to 80 to get the mount and glider stuff then play as normal?

It's a really fun class, I wanted a real "sniper" feel on rifle for ages, since warrior rifle is more like a musket and engi is a shotgun. Now I'm deciding between going after The Hunter for the skin only or staying with my Whisper's rifle because it's pretty (and waiting for a black lion skin for rifles that don't look bulky or overly complex, but that's almost impossible)
redoing living story instances with my brother is a fun time, and im getting achievements i missed too!!!

-snip- I'm dumb as hell
Finished the story a few days ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. Overall that felt like a much better release than HoT and I'm looking forward to what the living story brings up considering the quantity the previous season added on. Currently working towards the bonus mount and oh wow I'm gonna be broke for the first time since launch. Cost of items for its collection are 250g total, money that i was intending to (finally) finish nevermore.

Holy fuck this library shit for the Griffon is the dumbest shit ever.
the griffon is totally worth it tho, much better than an exclusive skin or a legendary
Griffon is the best thing that happened to this game, you can gain insane speeds and pull off cool stuns. The best part is that you can use it in central Tyria maps, makes traveling a bliss. [vid]https://giant.gfycat.com/AffectionateMisguidedDrafthorse.webm[/vid]
I like how some NPC's are seen riding mounts too [t]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DLT2CIRXoAE9v-_.jpg:large[/t]
Got all the map collections done, now I just gotta save another 150g to buy the heart vendor items (which shouldn't be hard since I finished converting my ascended and weapons to Viper's and am not hemorrhaging money anymore)
Soulbeast feels great, just at home with my condi Ranger. Working on getting more Viper's accessories on her from Bitterfrost Frontier and some other LWS3 maps too. Also, got myself this fancy backpiece: [t]https://wiki.guildwars2.com/images/2/2b/Relic_of_Dwayna.jpg[/t] Gonna probably try and get all of them at one point to unlock Abbaddon's. It's a bit strange but still looks fancy. They have surprisngly amazing animations that you only see happen once - when you hide the backpiece and show it again. Those are transformer backpieces which really should have been glider skins when you unlock them.
