That GS and sword are unbelievably boring. #4 was a far better concept.

I thought the shortbow was the coolest, by far. :(.

I really don't like that there are a bunch that are just different dye channel placements when the original mounts only have a [I]single[/I] channel. I wouldn't mind if the originals had at least two or three, but that's pretty shitty on top of the shittiness of RNG loot crates to unlock the skins. The ones that have new visual elements and aren't a mess of gaudy particle effects are mostly decent though. I really like the Dajkah Lantern skin for the skimmer and a couple of the jackal ones.
I got a small gw2 commission and a cash payment from another friend the other night and decided to bite the bullet and test a 10-pack. Like I said before, I love most of the available skins, so it's less risk but still salt in not being able to do anything about picking my faves. They're not changing the pack acquisition out of fairness to the dips who bought the stuff day 1, so it's all we can do now if we want any of them I guess
results:
-first opened, jackal, the sand doggo skin. Was upset a full unique skin was first drop
-second, lop bunny, which is arguably my least favorite (save for literally every skimmer)
third through fifth, moth, spikefin, and lantern skimmers. not happy I got so many but again the dye channel options kind of make up for it
-sixth, one of the base skin raptors with full dye control. ACTUALLY really excited for that.
-seven and eight, the two-tone version of the base jackal (again, really appreciate full dye control), and the smoothstone whatever jackal that doesn't have the glowing runes on its stones
-nine, flaming raptor
-ten, galaxy griffon
-turned out there's gems left over from the tier of gems you had to buy, so I got an eleventh. It was jackalope, which redeems the lop a bit
overall if I hadn't gotten 35 bucks specifically for gw2 garbage and the suggestion put forth I should put it back into something for gw, I wouldn't have been comfortable dropping $50 on enough gems for just a 10-pack (and a bonus one). I'm left sour over how much value went into what [i]still feels like getting duplicates[/i] between the skimmers and the simplified jackal skin, while I ended up with [i]the[/i] flashiest griffon and no others for that mount
also, I haven't noticed it on any of the others (since everything else I got still uses the base model's body) but the jackal dog's face has some janky poly work, and if you look too close, the fur pattern mask looks like it was scribbled in mspaint

I know this is petty and dumb, but I haven't been able to bring myself to finish the episode after I found out what they did to [sp]Kamadan.[/sp]
I still haven't finished the episode because the performance is absoulte ass on the new map. My laptop is already struggling with games because CPU is overheating, and I need to replace thermal paste to fix that. I haven't gotten around to doing that yet(haven't even bought the paste yet) and mostly the game runs fine, except for big world bosses and whatnot where there's a lot of shit going on. Now this map in particular, for whatever reason, even in Astralarium drops to single digit frames if I dont constantly look down. It sucks out all the fun because PoF maps work fine, until I find a bounty or a big event..

I heard the performance issues on Istan has something to do with reflections, but I haven't actually tested this out myself at all.

I would love to use this on Rev (a Demon book works well with the whole "Channel legends from the mists"/philosopher of the dead thing). Still going to work on it, but don't play on my alts (who could use it) enough :(.
What bothers me is that the weapon skin is great but weapon itself is underused nowadays for 'efficient' builds. At least for the professions that I play - I'd rather use a shield for Power DH because I love that I can save lifes; I'd rather use torch on Condi Firebrand because DPS; I'd rather use The Doot-Doot on a Tempest because, well, it's a doot-doot and it's awesome. focus is usually important to wvw mesmers for its swiftness/CC utility and projectile blocks(+reflects with both skills when traited)

Holy shit, farming the gingerbread route is insane gold farm if you're good.
~34.5g/hr and that's if you only make 15 successes every session. Perfect speedruns would likely be close to 40-45g/hr
And that's looking at direct sell prices on the gifts alone, not including the other goodies you get from the 5-personalized per 3 runs (achievement) gifts.
