Meanwhile, Mirages got a new skill for their rotation. Once useless Phantasmal Mage now does a fiery shotgun blast on top of the initial torch aoe, then disappears, not interfering with the clone count. Quite amazing, Torch is even better now.

I meant that I've seen people spawn about 10 berserkers or something. What is that about.
I actually enjoy playing Mesmer now

They changed https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Imagined_Burden to also make it so your greatsword #4 creates two berserkers instead of one, but reduces their damage by 25%. People are probably coming up with something using that and the chronophantasma trait to have them respawn and then abuse f5 to immediately use that skill again and shit out 8 berserkers in 2 seconds.
The new way phantasms work is extremely satisfying.

Yeah, my guildie was duelling me yesterday and he literally had 10. He said he has to get used to the change :v:
Just started playing again for the first time since like early 2015, is it worth buying the 2 expacks to level with or just grab them as I reach the content at 80? Levelling new characters with a friend.
Also is there any EU guild still active with Facepunchers in it?
I'd say reach level 80 first. The decide if you want more.
Buying both expansion packs is instantly beneficial only if you don't already own the base game. If your friend has a free account then he should upgrade right away

Nah we're both base game owners, bought it in 2012, stopped playing and both decided to come back now after I played for a week or so in 2015.
What timing, apparently you can get a small discount on PoF

You've won me over.

Or not, the payment wouldn't authenticate and now when I tried to buy it again it says the discount code is invalid.
Problem solved, buying it gives you a redeemable key so I just bought it on a second account and applied it to my main, I think the failed payment tricked the site in to thinking I'd used the discount code and it must be one time use per account.
It asks you to log in but still emails you a key? Huh.

Yeah you need to log in to buy it for whatever reason so I just made a new arena.net account, logged in with that, the code worked fine and then when I bought it I was just given a Path-Heart joint CD key that I applied on my main account.

Talking about episode 2 and how they want to make sure it's right before releasing. Better to release when ready, even if that means waiting longer imo.
probably just a few days delay like the last episode that got delayed, so it won't release on a tuesday
Can we get this armour set in gw2 please.

you could get close with inquest, trade around chest/shoulder/head a bit with some human cultural or random other junk mayhaps

The main thing I like about it though is the collar guard. GW2 doesn't really have anything like that. Some things that come close, but not to that level.
ended up getting the last few season 3 nodes i was missing, now to get the aurillium node from the masks achievement

just got to level 80 and bought Expansion 1. Was looking at some good builds for staff elemental and now i have to get Ascended gear. I have no idea where to start and i feel like a fucking nub.

Get yourself a good set of exotic gear first, one that fits the build you're going for. Then do fractals till you get a few ascended rings, then dick with those by throwing agony resist on them so you can do higher level fractals until you earn enough to buy ascended gear that way.
you don't need ascended unless you're doing higher end fractals and get serious about raiding, both of which earn some decent dosh to support getting there as you advance
exotic gear is easy to acquire just making your way around the HoT area and should suffice well enough, it largely comes down to player build and their skill with it in like 75% of the game
for example, I walked a fresh character to the silverwastes and made it to, then [del]defeated[/del] survived the lv 80 silverwastes meta events and champ fight without dying

since then I've leveled several characters by throwing them straight into HoT and other nonsense areas immediately and exploring as much as I can before all five thousand pocket raptors catch my scent from across the map
Strength in numbers
Even if it means having a smol asura with a toy gun
Is the core game story missions mandatory to unlock gliding and masteries? I'm working through the last few, but i can't see myself being arsed on any following characters.
Edit:
also it really isn't clear to me which are HoT areas and which are core game areas. I've been playing casual as hell since launch and just not followed any of the news. Haven't even played living world (are these worth it? Season 2 seems expensive).

https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mastery
So to summarize the masteries are split by expansion, if you in a HoT or season 2 area then its Maguuma masteries you'll earn towards, if its PoF or season 3 then you'll get Elona
Once you've done a specific story step or entered an area then you get access to the next mastery. As suggestion, prioritize getting any movement based mastery first along with nuhoch poison protection.
The only real indication of what area you're in is the mastery bar at the bottom of the screen and what it counts towards. Getting the season 2 stuff can be worth it as they do count for a significant amount of post game content. Their rewards also provide a means of recycling bloodstone dust, empyrial fragments and dragonite ore.
adding on since I mentioned bringing lowbies to HoT, you only ever have to unlock a mastery once, and the mastery applies to all of your characters, including lowbies.
If you unlock gliding for example, even a level 2 fresh out the gate will have the capability (and it works in vanilla areas now!) If you unlock mounts in PoF, same rule applies, and you're even more OP wandering around queensdale on the back of a velociraptor

Oh god yes. I literally powerleveled myself from lvl 45 to 80 in the course of a single game session because of just how fast I could get to the hearts and get them done. Mounts OP, for sure.
So I never really messed with this game's story and I recently got Path of Fire so I decided to go through all the previous quests to understand what the fuck is going on.
Heart of Thorns was pretty great going through, maybe a bit weird due to not knowing some stuff but I still really enjoyed it (Heart of Thorns last mission spoilers)[sp]That last boss fight in the Dream was kind of annoying though, namely cause I think it expected me to unlock all the glider stuff + mushroom buffs which I didn't, so it made the fight way harder than it should've been.[/sp]
Oh and also [sp]Aurene is so god damn precious, I love her.[/sp]
Now the Path of Fire stuff, I'm so hooked to this story now, I just really like it. (Earlyish spoilers for path of fire)[sp]For some reason Vlast's death fucked me up, especially with how Aurene was acting afterwards, it struck a chord in me.[/sp]
I just got done with the Departing quest/mission. [sp]holy fuck, when I got to the top and saw Balthazar I was so mad, but not mad at the gameplay or story oddly enough, just mad at the character itself. Which is just amazing for a game's story telling to be able to do that. I got especially mad seeing Aurene trying to save me and that shit head of a god chaining her up. Oh and the part afterwards, when you die was handled well, and I really enjoyed it going through the whole story.[/sp]
Overall, the expansions are well worth their cost and even more honestly, each mount is fun and great to explore with. Not to mention the great events in the new maps.
Also I'm planning on (also path of fire spoilers)[sp]making the dragon hatchling doll for Aurene so I can give it to her after I kick the god of war's ass[/sp]
Sorry if this seems very rambly, I'm just super happy how great this game is, both in story and in gameplay. Plus none of my friends are anywhere near to my level of completion so I can't really talk to them about this stuff.
