So now that it's been out for a bit:
Buy or Don't buy? :worried:
It's been out for less than four hours. Wait at least a day. I'm really enjoying myself though, the combat is satisfying (arkham style but heavier), and the characters are quite Mad Max-like. I don't see myself regretting the purchase unless the story shits itself later on, which would be pretty tough to do considering it's a Mad Max story.
[sp]hopefully we don't take over Gastown with a bunch of kids[/sp]
Don't forget to get the latest nvidia gpu updates...

QoL drivers for said game.
How do you use the photomode?
Do you unlock it after doing the story enough or am I just blind and cant find the control for it
How do you use the photomode?
Pause game > scroll down to last option something about "capture".
So, did anyone not take the Wild Hunt option?
I might have taken the Ripper had my preorder stuff been delivered. But otherwise yeah, Wild Hunt absolutely.
I might have taken the Ripper had my preorder stuff been delivered. But otherwise yeah, Wild Hunt absolutely.
The Ripper should be available on Sept. 2nd.

Oh so it's not just me who doesn't have the pre-order body then.
Speaking of cars [sp]it's worth noting you unlock the Interceptor for finishing the game.[/sp]
Only played the first two hours because I got tired as fuck but so far it's exactly what I wanted and more. Also was anyone else blown away when they saw how big the map was?
Damn this game looks good, and it's pretty damn fun to boot
I love the sense of upgrading Max and the Car, I love all the kooky characters, and I love the journey from the dregs of the wasteland to the top, so this game should be great.
I'm already loving the design methodology. It's like, okay we need to design a toilet. Step 1. Is there any way we can incorporate a tire into the design? And they go from there
Even Chumbucket's bed is like a huge tire. Awesome
I was scared that he was going to annoy me but so far I'm loving him and his stupid religion
Early game major spoils though - [sp]Did they kill the dog when they blew up chumbucket's place? :([/sp]

Going up in the first hot air balloon was pretty cool. I like all the abandoned ships, and it was damn cool going into[sp]buzzard territory and seeing the 'brown spikes everywhere' design that they had in the movie[/sp]
First time I went up to that[sp]mysterious character that upgrades your abilities[/sp], there's a massive flat plane (the edge of the map I think) and I paused just to stare at the expansiveness of it all

I just now realised that they completely ditched the dog once they got it back to chumbucket's place. Maybe it comes back later as a villain.

It was definitely sat there on some car chairs near the opus between main missions for a while though. I've only just done[sp]The escape from the giant exploding ship[/sp]so I was hoping in the next story mission it would[sp]hop out of the boot where it was hiding or something[/sp]

[sp]The dog is alive, there is a side mission to go find it and Chums buggy. Once you complete it you can drive Chums buggy with the dog in the back. The dog barks to let you know about land mines.
It upsets me though that you can't take the dog in the Magnum Opus[/sp]
For real, why doesn't every game have a photo mode?

Will I be able to handle it with an I5-4590, Radeon HD5750 and 4GB RAM? (Not maxed of course.)
-nvm apparently it's only Mad Max that I can't download atm-

The game runs at a solid 30 to 40 frames per second at medium settings for me with a system that's slightly below the minimum requirements. It looks great, even without everything maxed out.
PS: The game's a blast. I'm very satisfied by the amount of upgrade and gameplay systems. It doesn't feel like the stupid shit Ubisoft randomly places everywhere to artificially stretch the game for completionists.
I think my one beef with this game so far is that I was hoping for a Fury Road-esque soundtrack. The music we have isn't very loud or noticeable.
So people know what hardware I have, nearly maxing the game out and running at pretty much a stable 60 FPS.

i have a 560 ti and an i5 750
that picture makes me really happy man, it makes me happy to know i'll be able to play the game decently
Avalanche knows how to optimize their games, Just Cause 2 can run on a potato.
Anyone know where to find Deathrattle? I was torn between it and Wild Hunt, but Wild Hunt's missing headlight cover is starting to bother me.
Alright, I've downloaded the first patch or something and started the game
I've played only for a bit and I can only say I'm really happy the game runs smoothly on basically all ultra settings (I've disabled motion blurr only because fuck motion blurr)
My laptop struggles sometimes and graphics settings don't seem to have an effect on that. I think I remember this happening in Just Cause 2 as well but I don't remember what I did to fix it, if anything. This laptop is pretty capable so I was expecting to be able to run it on high with AA off but even on the lowest settings I'm getting this kind of jerkiness sometimes. Sometimes it seems like it happens without an FPS drop?
I thought that it might be a memory issue but with 8gb ram and a quad core i7 I can't imagine so.

Do you have Nvidia Optimus?
Negative, I'm on an AMD card. Trying to update to the latest Catalyst beta but I get a windows installer crash and then it fails to install the driver. :v:
I had a problem with Just Cause 2 running on my integrated intel gpu even though a better nvidia card was available.
No spoilers in this vid, btw

I'm pretty sure it's object based motion blur though which actually looks quite good, unlike full screen.
After 2 and a half hours of fucking with it I managed to update to the latest Catalyst drivers (thanks leshcat) and the game runs a lot better now. Time to turn up the settings and see what my laptop can do with it.
