I really like all the small details, like how you can see not only where every settlement/base/whatever gets their food/water from, but also where they shit.
The change from Just Cause 1 to Just Cause 2 was fairly immense mechanically, I'm sure they could expand on the formula well enough.
I'm not sure if the game is selling well enough for a sequel to get made. It did come out the same day as Metal Gear.

Though the big name IP alone might still be enough for it to become an ongoing series, Warner Bros loves their franchises so much they've let the Arkham series go on for two games too long IMO.

The world looks great on both a macro and micro level. Every camp is full of little bits and bobs that imply stories of their own. One camp I went to was evidently a human leather factory for instance, while another seemed to be sacrificing cars wicker-man style. [editline]3rd September 2015[/editline] Also, not world design related, but the echo effect is spooky as fuck and very effective. Another subtlety I enjoy.
This games sound design is amazing
So I pre-ordered this from GMG back on the 25th (enjoying the hell out of it so far) and they of course sent me the key back just before it was released like everyone else. But...for some reason I just got another email from them. With another key. What. It's not a duplicate email with the same key either, it's a totally different one. I wasn't charged again and my GMG order history only shows the one purchase. I'm gonna contact support and be like YO WHATS THIS because I don't feel entitled to the copy, I only paid for one and 60 bucks is kind of a big deal to me so it pretty much seems like stealing a full priced game, maybe they will take it back. Very confused as to why this is happening.

For an improved experience, put this music up on your device of choice whenever you are facing a convoy

Love the Ripper, kick-ass. [t]http://i.imgur.com/Xpmwfii.jpg[/t]
I wonder if anyone's explored modding this game yet, because I'd love to see a mod that makes the different faction cars (Scrotus, Buzzard, Roadkill) fight eachother if they come into contact. Also has anyone else noticed how fucking awesome the Buzzard cars sound? They sound like pod-racers.
I'll bet a multiplayer mod shows up eventually like JC2MP. I think Avalanche dropped the ball not including some co-op gameplay, it could have been awesome.
I really hope they get to make a sequel because I feel like this is a great framework for a game but it just needs more everything. It needs a nemesis system. It needs the ability to get out of your moving car and jump onto another vehicle. It needs to feel more like the movies. Heck, the game doesn't even have motorcycle enemies. It's a good start, but it could be so much better. I almost wonder if it needs to go to a developer more ambitious than Avalanche.
Fuck no, Avalanche is THE studio to do it. They just need to not be doing it while making another equaly-if-not-even-more ambitious game at the same time. Also [t]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/427068996674388496/9942918FE44CD9E00C97D946EE101ACE96D0DA7D/[/t] Fucking hell this game [editline]3rd September 2015[/editline]
You've probably got a point there. Though the big name IP alone might still be enough for it to become an ongoing series, Warner Bros loves their franchises so much they've let the Arkham series go on for two games too long IMO.
I don't think it's a matter of letting it go on too long, I think it's a matter of letting it go on too regular. If Arkham City was the last Arkham game before Knight, even with the huuuuge space of time in between the two releases, and this Origins/ Blackgate outsoruced bullshit never happened, the franchise would be a revered solid trilogy. Those non-Rocksteady games are black marks on the franchise and detractors of the overall quality of the whole thing. Warner Brothers' big mistake was trying to standardize the series' release space, It's not that they made too many games, it's that they settled for filler games. I think this and SOM could stand being franchises so long as they maintain their original developers. That being said, I want Monolith to make more shooters so SoM is gonna have to be put on hold I'm sorry but Monolith is fucking Monolith. Also, this game makes me realize that it a horrible apocolyptic event happened, I'd make my own guns and I'd make them impossibly tricky to function so that only I could use them. Like, the mag release is the trigger and the trigger is the mag release or something like that. Just so looters would be tempted to leave my shit alone, or even kill themselves trying to work my stuff. I'm a bit drunk at the moment.

I'd love to see a full Mad Max Multiplayer Game done really, just have everyone be their own person, rationalize it as people following in the footsteps of Max or that the shifting in power caused more people to go out in to the Wasteland or something. Everyone gets their own vehicle that they can upgrade and do stuff with, and their own skill sets. So like, I could be a great driver and a great mechanic, but my friend is a great fighter and great with weapons. So I drive for him while he sits in the back firing at enemies, boarding their vehicles, that kind of thing. Then when we need to make running repairs, we swap with each other, he drives, and I climb around on whatever vehicle I have making repairs. Allow big things like the War Rigs as well. They'd be big, lumbering things that draw attention, and require several people to be truly deadly. So Like me and four or five friends could all crew a War Rig, traveling around together. Clearing areas of gangs, or being one ourselves and raiding settlements and such. Have other players come in packs to all try and take us down. That would be absolutely amazing if that were to become a thing. I think I sorta just described like a weird Mad Max universe version of EVE or something. Just do whatever you want in a big apocalyptic wasteland, fight anyone, work with anyone, that would be awesome.

I was also thinking about it, Mad Max would make a decent RTS game after playing this. You've already got all the elements. Resource gathering points, facilities, units. You build up your faction, build small settlements, have oil wells and watering holes, maggot farms. Send out like a pack of cars, have a rammers, thunderstick cars, have a doof wagon for support buffing their stats. There's a lot of stuff you can do with the Mad Max universe really.
An RTS game with combat kinda like the indie game convoy would be interesting
I want Monolith to make more shooters so SoM is gonna have to be put on hold I'm sorry but Monolith is fucking Monolith.
Monolith needs to make a new Shogo game, or at the very least, a spiritual successor. I need another 1980's Mecha anime FPS :v:
I wish I could put more spikes on the main car. Just cover that fucker in spikes. I mean yeah I can drive around the buzzard cars, which is great and all, but I want MY car to be a rusty death porcupine

On topic though. How does this game play? I've heard people saying it gets rather repetitive. One thing I was worried about was Warner Bros habit of getting devs to recycle assets from other games. I'm scared Mad Max will play out far too much like the Batman games.
It doesn't play like Batman at all, but it does suffer from repetition. Personally, I like it because it's a progressive growth you get all game but you're doing similar things. It's a very good game IMO, but certainly has some problems with repetitive tasks
I gotta say, storms are cool, terrifying, annoying, and hilarious. They effects and everything are great, seeing all this shit whipping around which can actually hit and damage things is a great touch. They're intense experiences, especially when they really go on for a while or its night time. They're annoying because of how often and how much damage the lightning strikes can do, and how they can hit in an instant on top of you without warning. But they're funny because there is something great about running out in a storm chasing boxes of scrap, pulling them out of the sky, then as you run over to grab them, a piece of sheet metal smacks you and sends you flying, and then another hits doing it again.
Anyone happen to find the Twelve yet? e: found it, part of story

It seems like the enemies hightail it out when a storm comes which may be realistic but isn't as fun.

I was driving around fighting in one once and a piece of sheet metal flew out of nowhere, slammed in to the side of one of the cars I was dealing with, and immediately destroyed it and launched the wreck away. It had full level one armor, I hadn't scratched it at all yet.
I was pulled a scrap car out of the sand to get some supplies and some guy came out of nowhere, ran into the car and jumped off it, only to blow up on the other side of me. He didn't even hit a wall/rock or anything, it was just an open, relatively flat area. I wish I had seen it coming, I would've recorded it.
